First off, the grammar. The beautiful grammar and wonderfully correct spelling, that in the world of Wattpad, is about as rare as an Eastern Alizarin Crimson Abyssinian cat. That's right folks. This book shows very clearly that the author is either

a) a tireless and merciless editor with hawk eyes (Ha. Hahahah you see what I did there?)

or

b) possesses impeccable and irrefutable knowledge of the structure of English language. Because finally I have stumbled upon a book where the author knows that past tense means PAST TENSE, and your IS NOT you're, and text abbreviations should be considered a crime. Reading this book is a smooth and flowing ride. No awkward sentences and kindergarten-level mistakes here. Hence

The genre is teen fiction, but I think fantasy would have suited it much better. The storyline is well-planned - so far - that shows me the author has done some serious thinking beforehand, and possesses quite a lot of information on this new world she just created. It's a whole new reality here folks, and a well-described one at that. There's magic and a whole dash of ingenuity, especially when it comes to the types of mages and their names. A mage that controls earth is named Dune; the one that manipulates wind Gale; the one that shapes time Early. And the animals as well - may I pre-order my own Carput Mortuum Ashtail Cross Fox please?

I see a potential love triangle shaping up and I hope the author delves a little bit more into that, along with what the final choice means - because I'm telling you guys, it ain't no cliche set-up. For one, the two people our main character is attracted to have different genders. That's right, we have a pansexual heroine folks! Le gasp! On my part I would just like to express my admiration to the author for bringing light to this - type? - of sexuality. It's rare for me to read a book where the main character's sexuality dives away from the norm - and no, Camren and Larry fanfiction does not count.

The only small gripe I have with this book is that things happen a wee bit too fast. Our heroine enters a village and bam! something happens that makes her has to leave. I wished we could have had more time to explore the different societies and learn the cultures. Perhaps witness a traditional festival or a sacred custom of the village? Since this book isn't action it's alright to take things a little slow, to delve more into the history of the aeromancers say, instead of skimming across the surface of the water.

Other than that, so far so good. The author shows some serious passion with her work, and this whole new world is coming along very very nicely.

Wrap it up now - stars or stones? Stars. Small twinkly ones, but they're growing alright.
