I feel as if I might need a trip to a mental health institution myself some time soon. What have you done author?

Our protagonist is nuts. Crazy. Off her rocker. Bonkers. That much is pretty clear. She's definitely got more than a few screws loose in her head.

And that's what makes this book so wickedly delighted. She admits right from the start that she's slightly insane, and hence, not exactly the most reliable person in the world. Written in the first person's point of view, the reader has absolutely no idea if the things the protagonist sees and the fears that she has are founded or not. Are they real? Or are they imagination? Are the monsters in her head or really out there?

The lines between reality and fiction are wonderfully blurred together. As the reader you have absolutely no idea what's going on. You're literally a sitting duck for whatever blow the author is going to deal next. The protagonist is mad but not in the HAHAHAHEEHEEHEE OH LOOK FLYING PIGS kind of way, but more in an insidious, twisted manner. She loves pain for one, craves for it even. And I love how the horror tends more to the psychological side, instead of pure gore and blood. There is some violence, but the author handles it delicately. About the only reason it's ranked mature is because it gets straight inside your head.
