Connie sat on the ground staring up at the television in awe.

Stickers were scattered around her, almost making her form look like the centerpiece of their living room.

Animal crackers, goldfish and fruit snacks were stuck to the girls frilly tutu and every once in awhile, she would pick them off and eat them.

Steven chuckled lovingly as he surveyed her. He had gotten off of work a couple of hours early and decided to sneak in and surprise her, only to find this.

His Connie. His strong, independent, level headed, mature Connie was donning the stature and personality of a child. He wondered just how often she did this, while he was at work and she was at home by herself.

Connie let loose a small, sweet giggle at something happening on TV that made Steven gasp a little as his heart melted.

Her ears perked up at the inhale and when she whipped around, Steven had to keep from laughing. She was COVERED in glitter. In her hair, on her face and hands...it was everywhere. And it was adorable.

But the look on her face was sheer terror and embarrassment as she blinked rapidly at him.

They stood like that for awhile and stared at each other. Connie broke the silence first.

"It's not...what it looks like?" She said it almost as if it were a question.

Steven just shook his head slowly. Then faster as he burst out laughing, unable to hold back his awe and adoration any longer. "What have you been doing, Glitter Berry?" He roared.

Connies eyes were big and round as she looked at him, "Uh..." she fiddled with her hands and twisted from side to side shyly, shuffling her feet as a child in trouble might do. "Nuffin. I was jus' playin wif the glitter and stickers, but then i got hungry..." she hesitated and sighed.

"Go on...." Steven gently coaxed.

"And i ate nanimal crackers and goldfis'..." she murmured.

He sauntered over and bent down, tracing her jawline gently before running his index finger over her cheek. "Why is all of the glitter on your face?" He asked, an amused twinkle in his eye.

"Well... um...i ate some?" Steven snorted and simpered when he saw her lip begin to quiver. Steven pulled her into his arms and carried her to the bathroom. He wet a wash cloth with warm water and dabbed at the glitter. When he was satisfied and most of the glitter was off, he picked her back up. He laid her on the bed and without another word, he took off his jacket and covered her in it before laying next to her and caressing her hair.

"Y-youre not m-mad?" She sniffled

Steven pondered and shook his head even though she couldnt see it. "How could i be? You looked so happy and precious and adorable..." he smiled as she covered her face with his jacket sleeve. "We have some things to discuss but that can wait. For now, it's nap time Little Berry."
