~"Give me one last kiss while we're far too young to die." -Panic! At the Disco~

Legolas and I sat in the Bruinen fields, well beyond Rivendell's borders. Our horses grazing not far from where we are. Our backs lend up against boulders that sat across from each other.

"May I tell you something?" Legolas asked.

"Of course, 'Mellon.'"

"I do not wish to be the Prince of Greenwood."

"Why? Is it the rules, the responsibilities, the expectations?"

"The, 'elleths.'"

"The, 'elleths?' -I see, you have a real problem on your hands there, you will need Mithrandir to help you with that the next time you see him."

"I am serious, Lìvia."

"As was I. I am sure Gandalf could do something about it. If not I could always do something."

"No. We talked about this."

"All I'm saying is let them go into the woods, and whoever finds their way back wins."

"None of them have even stepped foot out of the Palace."

"Really? You have poor taste in 'elleths, Mellon.'"

"I did not - It is not what I meant Lìvia. -None of them can, or could love me. They will only love me for my title, as Prince."

"Oh. - Do not worry Legolas, someone will come around and love you for you."

"Thank you giving me that small hope."

"Small is better than none."

I got up from my spot in the grass, and Legolas followed, as we headed for our horses.

"Come on, we better get moving again, if we wish to reach Bree by night fall."

"Reminded me why are going, again?"

"I am showing you Middle-earth."

"This is an excuse for an adventure. I have seen Middle-earth many times."

"Middle-earth is not in a book, or on a map, its out here." I said, throwing my hands outward, then dropped them back to my side.

"Too much time with Mithrandir, has got you talking like him." Legolas replied shaking his head, and getting on his horse.

"You make it sound like a bad thing." I said, getting on Meríco.

Bree

It wasn't raining, for once. It was peaceful and calm night.

"Why are our hoods up? Would we not look suspicious?" asked Legolas in a whisper.

"No. We would look no more than Rangers in mortal men's eyes." I replied as we walked up to the gate, our horses behind us.

I knocked three times, then the peephole opened.

"What you want?" asked a man.

"We wish to enter. Our business is our own." I replied.

"Yes ma'am." The guard said, closing the peephole and opening the gate.

We lead our horses passed the gate, and continued though the town.

We stopped at The Prancing Pony, tying up the reins real good. We walked inside, our faces still covered, we got a booth in the right back corner.

It was loud as usual, filled with men and hobbits who have had one too many drinks.

I ordered for the both of us, since Legolas had no clue.

Being the curios elf Legolas is, he whispered to me as a short man went by.

"What is a child doing here?"

"Another thing your books can not show you. That, Legolas, is a hobbit. Well into his eighties I must say."

Just then the lady came back with our order, I thanked her as Legolas took a sip of ale.

He almost coughed it back up, but didn't.

"Can't hold your liquor?"

"If that is what you would call this."

"I know. It is like weak tea."

"Yes. Though its nothing like the ink tea you gave me."

"I am afraid I do not know what you speak of."

"You know well what I speak of, Lìvian Peredhil."

(Huh-oh full name.)

"No, you must be thinking about one of my older siblings; Elladan, or Elrohir, or even perhaps Arwen."

Legolas gave a brief chuckle.

"You can not sliver tongue your way out this time. I distinctly remember, being the age of twenty-five, and you twenty-two."

I smiled, knowing those ages very clearly.

"And for your information that ink stained my teeth for a month."

My smile grew, knowing the tea had a lasting effect.

"Father feared it would have never come out."

I was laughing though no sound came out.

"Glad to see you enjoy my sorrows. What is this?" he asked, looking at the torn brown lump.

"That is bread."

He looked at me a questioning look.

"Its man made way. Its different from how elves make it."

Legolas looked down upon it still unsure.

"Just try it."

I knew that calm and rainless night was too good to last.

Rain poured down on us, it was pouring so bad that we could no longer see where we were going. No more than five feet.

"We have to get out of this rain!" Legolas shouted, over the rain. "It's no use trying to get back to Rivendell!"

I nodded even though he could not see me.

I know the Hidden Pass, like the back of my hand.

"Follow me!"

I turned Merico around and started heading West. A few moments later, Meríco halted and panicked. Ending up on his hind legs, then coming back down.

''Tián è bedön?'' I asked Meríco.

''What is wrong?''

He snorted in response, shifting his body around.

''Tián è-i?'' Legolas asked coming up beside me, as I tried to keep Merico steady.

''What is it?''

"Warg-Scouts. -We're being followed."

~~~
It continued to rain, but not as hard, making it easier to see. Thunder roared as lighting cracked across sky.
I stabbed an orc, just as a warg tackled me off Meríco, causing me and the warg tumbling down a hill.
"LÌVIA!" Legolas' voice shouted, just as more thunder and lightning clashed.
I landed with a thud on my back, knocking the breath out of me. At the same time, a loud crack came from my left wrist. Didn't help with an over hundred pound beast on me.
Its snout and yellow teeth where centimeters from my face. I don't know if it was slobber or the rain that kept dripping on me.
Either way I didn't have much time to ponder on it, before it opened it mouth ready to bite my face off.
I quickly shut my eyes and awaited my death. Instead of death, I get this rip and tug, followed by my cry of pain.
The warg was tackled off of me, I reached out and touched the burning sides of my face, feeling the blood run down.
I couldn't open my right eye, which burned, along with my upper and lower jaw. Luckily they were no more than a few centimeters deep.
I looked and saw it was Legolas that had tackled the warg. Quickly using his dagger to kill it. The warg let out a quick yelp, before dying.
Retrieving his dagger from the warg, Legolas was tackled by another one.
"LEGOLAS!"
The warg held Legolas in between his teeth. Then threw him to the far left, landing with a thud.
"NO!"
I pulled out my dagger, and rolled over on my side. Looking up I saw the warg starring at me. Lighting flashed again, clearly seeing the warg snarl, watching the blood drip from its teeth.
It then pounced, quickly lying back down on my back, I pierced the wargs' heart. It gave a painful howl, then fell on top of me dead.
I lifted it off of me, then I lifted myself up, grabbing my dagger as well. Placing it back into its sleeve, I threw my hood back over my head and rushed over to Legolas' side, landing on my knees, mud covering my knees.
"Legolas?"
"Lìvia?"
"Are you mad?"
"Possibly." He said with a smile.
I couldn't help but smile as well, but looking up and down it faded, seeing the blood seeping though his tunic.
~"Blood. So much blood."~ Said familiar faint voice in my head. For so long I thought he left.
~"Its on your hands. Its all your fault."~
I ignored his words, covering his with my own.
"Come on. We're almost there."
Helping Legolas up, and on his feet. I wrapped my arm under his shoulder, letting him put all his weight on me.
Which I was not prepared for, cause I fell into the mud, followed by Legolas.
I quickly picked myself up and Legolas, hoping to make it to the cave before anything else comes.
~~~~

I helped Legolas prop up against the rock wall, the rain continued to pour, now even harder.

"Lìvia?"

"I'm right here." I replied, sitting right beside him, taking off my hood and brushing my wet, bloody hair out of me face.

He looked faint and distanced, his eyes seemed lost. The amount of blood Legolas has lost made his skin paler than normal.

"You're bleeding."

"I'm fine Legolas. I'm not the one with my insides bleeding out."

~"You are loosing just as much, as he is."~

Legolas closed his eyes and kept them like so for an amount off time that made my heart skip a beat.

"No, Legolas. Don't close your eyes, stay awake." I ordered him, as I used my good hand to search through my bag.

~"He's dying, and there's nothing you can do."~

(He's lost too much blood. Its pointless.)

"Lìvia?" He managed to say, gabbing my right hand, forcing me to stop, and look up at him.

Using his other hand, he wiped the blood from my lips, followed by him pulling me into a kiss. Looking past the blood, mud, and sweat, it was just as soft and heart warming as I remember, that winter night, a hundred and twenty years ago.

I would have lied if I said, I didn't enjoy it.

We broke away, then Legolas spoke.

"-You may have forgiven, - but I can never forget."

He took a deep swallow, but coughed up blood in the process.

"-Will you sing for me?"

Looking down at my right hand, my thumb fiddling with my green ring, his hand under mine. I sniffed and nodded.

"Of course." I said looking back up, but I was too late.

Legolas' face was pale and cold, his eyes closed. Never to open again. But he was facing me.

The last thing he saw was a girl with four bleeding scars on her face.

I cried even harder, my screams covered by the rolling thunder.

I tried to hold myself together, and fulfill Legolas' final request.

"Valar, I beg, I plead.
-Don't take him - from me.
Please don't take his life,
Bring back - once was mine.

Heal what has been hurt.
Change his fates design,
Save what I have lost.
Bring back once was mine.

What once was mine."

Blood and tears continued to run down my face, till I fell into my own darkness.

Secretly hoping I'd get to join him.
