Chapter 16
A Mistake
T.A.2494
Rivendell
I was getting dressed, just like l do everyday. It was nothing special just a simple deep blue dress, and brown cloak. Just like dresses, I despises shoes with my dresses. I prefer to go barefoot.
After all this time getting ready I never looked at myself in my mirror. I then took a gleams in my mirror and screamed.
I stared in shock of what I saw. My hair was no longer just white, it was brown as well. A touched, and even pulled my hair to see if it was real.
Just then my door opened and Arwen came in, making the same face I did.
"Hi, Arwen."
"Lìvia? What happened?" She asked, closing the door behind her.
"I am not sure, but I kind of like it."
"Really?" She questioned walking towards me.
"Yea, it's different. Like me."
Arwen sat down beside me and, hugged me. I hugged her back.
"You're my favorite, 'gwathel.' "You know that?"
"I am your only 'gwathel.'" l said laughing.
"That is why you're my favorite." She said laughing as well.
Just then the door opened again and revealed Naneth and Ada.
"What happened we heard scream-ing." Ada said.
Mother was speechless at the sight of my hair, so much that she had to cover her mouth. As for Father, he seemed shock, but not surprised like mother.
"Do you like it?" l asked.
"Lìvia, what happened to your hair?" Naneth asked.
I just shrugged.
"It just happened."
"Well, at least no one is hurt." Ada stated.
"Arwen, take Lìvia and go play or something." Naneth said.
"Yes, 'Naneth.' Come on Lìvia."
Arwen graded my hand we walked out the door. After we turned the corner, l looked at Arwen and she looked at me. I had a big smile on my face.
"Your it!" I shouted and ran off.
"I'm going to get you!"
"Got to catch me!"
~~~
I ran though the halls, dodging all the other elves walking. Being small as a few advantages, l could easy pass them. Though it is not so easy for Arwen. I ran down the steps that entered the gardens, Naneth loves the gardens it is her favorite place, or so I have been told.
I wasn't paying any attention and ran straight into Elladan and Elrohir. Which cause me to fall down on the ground.
"Hey, Elladan. Hey, Elrohir." I said standing back up, and looked behind me to see where Arwen was.
"Lìvia? Is that you?" Elladan asked confused.
"Yes, it is me." I said dusting my dress off. "You should really know your sister. Got to go. Bye!"
I ran off again, hopefully Arwen was not to close to me. Turning a corner, I checked to see if Arwen followed, but she never came. I walked back to where I saw my brothers , and saw them talking to Arwen.
"Arwen, who was that?" Elrohir asked.
"That is our sister, Elrohir." Arwen replied.
"Does not look like her." Elladan stated.
"What do you mean it does not look like her?!" Arwen asked furious.
(Come on. Elladan and Elrohir don't really mean what they say. Right?)
"Her hair." They both said.
"What about her hair?"
"It's weird." Elrohir whispered, but l heard him perfectly.
(Weird?)
"How can you say that, about your own sister!" Arwen said shouting.
"But, we wont be the only ones who will say that, and you know it!" Elrohir shouted back.
(That hurt.)
"Just because other will, does not mean you have to!" Arwen said calmer but still raising her voice.
"Arwen you know it's weird." Elladan said.
Arwen took a deep breath and sighed.
"Strange yes. Weird no."
"This is not good. We will be a laughing stock." Elladan said
"You'll be a laughing stock?! How about Lìvia she will be the one being made fun of not you! " Arwen shouted again and smacked Elladan on the side of the head.
"And who do you think is going to have to stand up for her? Stand up for the weird one they will call her." Elrohir said bitterly.
Now I was torn. They would despise me. Tears ran down my face.
"I hope us." Arwen whispered.
I had enough of the conversation. I stepped out of my hiding spot so they could see me.
"I'm sorry, I'm such an embarrassment to you!"
They all turned to me. I saw Arwens' face looked hurt, but even more so to be brothers.
"Lìvia - " They both try to say but I interrupted.
"Save it! Just stay away from me!" I shouted and ran off.
Third Person POV
'ADA! ADA!' Arwen shouted though the halls.
Elrond heard his daughter's cry. The library door opened, and Arwen followed by Elladan and Elrohir. Upon seeing both their parents there looking at them.
"Arwen what is it?" Celebrían asked worriedly, closing her book.
"It's Lìvia! She ran off!" Arwen cried.
"What do you mean she ran off?!" Elrond asked.
"She took off, and -" Elladan started.
"Its our fault, 'Ada.'" Elrohir finished.
Their father sighed.
"Alright, I will deal with you two later, but for now we have to find Lìvia - "
Just then dry lightning cracked across the sky. Lord Elrond looked outside the window, as the rain begun to fall.
"and fast."
~~~
Lìvias' POV
I didn't know how long I ran, or how far I went. I was unsure how long I sat on the ground, up against a tree, crying my eyes out. I had no clue where I was, all I knew I was in the woods....alone.
I heard lightning crack and thunder roar, but I did not care I was lost and alone. Then, the rain came down, fast and hard.
(Good thing I'm wearing my cloak.)
It was getting cold and the rain did not help.
~~~
"Glorfindel!" Elrond called.
The pouring of the rain almost drowned out his voice.
"Yes, my Lord."
"I want you to check the woods, and see if you can find Lìvia there. She could not have gone far. Not in this weather."
Nodding his head, Glorfindel ran into the stables, and headed for the woods at full speed.
~~~
A clap of lightning came and blotted me awake. I looked around, still in the woods and still raining.
(I wonder how long I was asleep?)
Thunder boomed across the sky, so loud it shook the ground that I sat on.
(I want to go home!)
Just like that lightning strikes a tree close by, very close. The sound of a tree branch came falling down, got my attention. I looked up and saw a branch come falling down.
The last thing I remember was screaming.
~~~
Glorfindel looked everywhere for Lìvia, but found her nowhere. He continued to screech anyway.
The sound of lightning striking a tree was nothing unusual, but the scream of a young child, now that got the Glorfindel's attention.
Glorfindel turned his horse around and headed in the direction of the scream.
~~~
I slowly opened my eyes to find that I'm surrounded by leaves and limbs. I then realized, I am trapped in the branch that fell. The rain still came pouring down. My head pounded, in pain.
"I want to go home." I cried as tears came down my face.
"Hello?" A male voice called.
(Could it be?)
"Hello? Anyone there?"
(It is!)
"Glorfindel, 'rehta.'" l choked.
"Lìvia? Is that you?"
"Yes, Glorfindel. Please help me." I cried.
"Where are you?"
"Here."
Glorfindel got off his horse and walked around, moving the lantern with him. He was no more than a few feet from me.
"Down here, Glorfindel."
He knelt down, right in front of me. His lantern shined bright in my face, I had close my eyes. Glorfindel sighed in relief.
"Thank the Valar, you are alright. You have everyone worried."
"I want to go home."
"Do not worry. I'll get you out."
Glorfindel sat the lantern down, and started to pull the tangled limbs off.
'Nîdh!'
"Forgive me."
Glorfindel once again he pulled the branches and they flew off. Again, Glorfindel held the lantern to my face.
"How bad is it?"
"Nothing more than a few cuts. You will be fine."
"Can we go home, now?"
Glorfindel smiled and nodded.
"Yes, come on."
He picked me up and set me on his horse.
'Noro lim, Asfa, noro lim.' Glorfindel said to Asfa, and we were off.
~~~
The rain finally stopped, as l saw the outskirts of Rivendell. I smiled, home.
"Home." I whispered.
"We're almost there."
When we made it to the front gates, Asfa came to a complete stop. Glorfindel jumped off his horse first, then grabbed me and carried me inside.
"By the way." Glorfindel whispered in my ear. "I like your hair."
I looked at him in disbelief.
"Really?"
"Oh, yes. It's...different."
I smiled.
"It is. Isn't it."
"Just like you."
He continued to carry me through the halls, until we came upon the library. I saw Lindir walking back and forth in front of the doors, he was nervous.
(Was everybody that worried about me?)
"Lindir!" I called.
Lindir turned around, and he sighed in relief.
"Lìvia. Thank the Vala, your safe." He said walking towards us.
"I can walk, Glorfindel, you can put me down."
Glorfindel nodded and put me down. Touching the ground my legs wobbled, cause I have not stood on my own two feet for hours. Once I got it, I looked up at Lindir.
"Where is everyone, Lindir?"
"They are all in there. Waiting for you."
"Really?"
"Yes. Now, you have worried them long enough, come on." Lindir said looking at me. Then back to Glorfindel. "You to Balrog Slayer."
Lindir opened the door, and I saw Naneth, in Ada's arms, Arwen and my brothers had worried looks upon their faces. But my brothers have the most regret, written on theirs.
'Naneth!' I cried running into the room, falling in both my parents arms.
"Oh, Lìvia! You are alright, thank the Vala! Promise me you will never run off like that again." Naneth exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, Naneth. I promise I won't do it again."
"That is good to hear. I believe somebody owes you an apology." Ada said, gesturing to Elladan and Elrohir, as they made their way over to me.
Elladan and Elrohir met me at eye level.
"We are sorry Lìvia, for what we said." Elrohir started.
"We did not think before we spoke." Elladan continued.
"Can you ever forgive us?" They both asked.
"Of course I can. On one condition."
They both looked at each other then back to me.
"And what is that, Squirt?" Elrohir asked.
I smiled.
"Teach me to use a bow."
Elladan and Elrohir looked at me for a moment, as an evil grin came upon both their faces. Elladan swooped me up from where I sat, and laughed.
"You got yourself a deal."
