Chapter 14

New Arrivals With Secrets

T.A.2491

Rivendell

Elronds' POV

A year has gone by since, Lìvian, or Lìvia as she wanted to be called, was born. Only a year old and she is quite the hyperactive child, running and laughing all over Imladris.

For a year old she can already speak fluently, even calling her older brothers' and sisters' full name. Lìvia is still smaller, for a normal elfling, but that does not stop her from doing anything.

The Lord and Lady of Lothlóríen, returned to Rivendell, just the other day. Lady Galadriel mentioned something about a meeting with the White Council. So, today the rest of the White Council well be joining us.

~~~
We stood at the front gates waiting for our guest to arrive. I stood in the middle as Elladan and Elrohir stood to me right, and Celebrían, Lìvia, and Arwen were on my left. Celebrían, held Lìvia up off from the ground. Still only being an elfling, her body has not yet adapted to the cold.
'Ada.' She said.
"Yes, 'lell nín'. What is it?"
"Why, are we out here?" She asked with a slight shiver in her voice.
"We are expecting company, 'penneth.'"
She must have understood, because there was silence for a few moments, then she spoke again.
'Ada.'
"Yes." I said getting a little annoyed.
"I'm cold."
I turned to my wife and daughter, as I saw Lìvia tremble in Celebrían's arms.
'Melleth, "she is freezing.'"
She was indeed, almost to death. Her skin almost matched her hair.
"Take her inside." l said to Celebrían.
She nodded and carried Lìvia inside. Arwen then moved, closer to me.
"Would you like us to stay, 'Ada?'" She asked.
I shook my head.
"No, go on inside."
Arwen nodded and left. I then turned to my sons.
"You two as well."
"Yes, 'Ada.'" They both chimed and left.
~~~

Third Person POV

Celebrían and Lívia entered the Great Hall to get warm. As the sat down in front if the fireplace, feeling the heat from the flames, Lívia no longer trembled as she did before. She sat in her mother's lap, watching the flames. Resting her head, just under her mothers' neck, they sat in silence. Listening to the roaring sound of the fire.

'Naneth.' Lìvia said.

"Yes, 'lell nín.'"

"What does 'Melleth,' mean?" She asked looking at her mother.

Celebrían hesitated, wondering how to explain the meaning to a one year old.

"It means, my love. And you would say that to someone, who you really care about. You would do anything for that person. You...you say it to someone......you love."

'Naneth.' What is love?"

"That, 'penneth,' is for another time. Now go and play."

"Okay." She said and ran out he room.

~~~
Elronds' POV
Hearing the pandering of small feet and clashing of a sleigh. A man dressed in brown, with a long, light brown beard and hair.
I of course knew only one wizard by that standard,...Radagast.
"Whoa! Whoa! Stop! Stop!" He cried.
"Radagast." l called, making my way towards him.
"Oh, Lord Elrond. What a pleasure to see you again. I am not late am l?"
"No, you are actually early."
"Oh! Oh, good, good. Is there a place where, I can put my sleigh and rabbits?"
l gave a quick chuckle.
"Yes." l said gesturing my hand over to Lindir. "Lindir will show you where, and l will see you later for dinner."
"Of course." Radagast replied, now disappearing from view.
"And do not let the rabbits get in the gardens!" l shouted.
"To late!" He shouted back.
l let out a sigh, and shook my head.
~~~

Third Person POV

She ran though the outside halls, her white hair flying behind her. Not paying any attention, she ran straight into someone. Causing her to fall on the ground.

She quickly got back up and saw a man, a man dressed in brown, with a stick in hand. He had light brown beard and hair.

"Hello." She said with a smile.

"Hello, little one. What is your name?" He said meeting her at eye level.

"Lìvia. I am sorry for running into you."

"Oh, it is quite alright my dear. My name is Radagast the Brown."

Lìvia studied Radagast, there was something about him that was different. He did not look like all the other elves she have seen.

"Are you an elf?"

"No, l am a wizard."

"Wiz-ard? What is a wiz-ard?"

Radagast chuckled.

"Well, let me tell you."

~~~
Elronds' POV
Not long after Radagast arrived the sound of hooves stomping against the stone roads. Interring the front gates were two men; one dressed in grey, and the other white.
I greeted them.
"Welcome, back to Rivendell, Gandalf and Saruman."
''Always good to be back, Lord Elrond." Gandalf said.
~~~

"Why, are we here Gandalf?" Saruman asked, as we walked though the halls.

"We were summoned by Lady Galadriel. Remember?"

"What is important that it has to call upon the White Council?"

"Even, l do not know." l said.

"Well, on the other hand. Who is the new elfling in the family?" Gandalf asked, looking at me.

"Lìvian. Yes, she is the newest member of the family."

"And where is the young one?" Gandalf asked.

"Running around here somewhere."

~~~
Third Person POV
Lady Galadriel roamed through the halls, trying to find her newest granddaughter. For she has not seen her since she was born. Well, take that back not since when they arrived yesterday.
(Now, where are - oh, there you are.) She said in her mind.
She turned the corner to find her granddaughter and Radagast sitting on a bench. Radagast was telling her about wizards, his adventures, and his love for animals.
"Radagast." Galadriel said.
Two pair of eyes quickly looked at the Lady of Lothlóríen.
"Lady Galadriel!" Radagast said, practically jumping out of his seat.
"Grandma!" Lìvia shouted running to Galadriel.
Kneeling down, she hugged her granddaughter. Letting go of their hug, the young elfling spoke.
"Where is Grandpa?"
"He is around here somewhere." She said, standing up and started walking forward.
Lívia went back, and stood beside Radagast. Looking behind her, Galadriel spoke.
"Oh, and Radagast."
"Yes, Lady Galadriel."
"Elrond, Gandalf, and Saruman are looking for you."
"What? Oh, oh. Thank you Milady."
Galadriel nodded and walked away. Lívia then tugged the end of Radagast's robe.
"Can I come, Rad-a-gast?" She asked, looking up at him.
Radagast looked down at Lìvia unsure on what to say.
"Please." She begged.
"Aright, come on."
Lìvia smiled with delight, taking Radagast's hand, as the started walking.
~~~

Elronds' POV

"What is that you wanted to show us?" Saruman asked.

Gandalf, Saruman, and l now stood in the library. I for some reason trust the wizards to keep a secret. Which l am not suppose to even tell them.

"This." l said plainly, pulling out a thick, black, book from the bookshelf, and walked back to the wizards.

"A book? You wanted to show us a book?" Saruman stated quite upset.

"Not just a book. Open it."

Gandalf slowly opened the book, only to find a jewel in a case, with a black chain.

"The Áthel?!" Gandalf breathed.

"It's not possible." Saruman objected.

"But it is." l said.

"If you found this one. Then, you found one for the female." Gandalf said, looking at me.

"Lady Galadriel, found them both to be exact."

"So where is the other one?" Saruman asked.

"In Greenwood." I said closing the book, and placed it back on the shelf.

I noticed Gandalf giving me a disproving look.

"Are you meaning to tell me that, she is to marry the Prince of Greenwood?"

''Indeed. But we will not speak of this again."

Just the a knock came from the door.

"Come in." l called.

The door opened to reveal Radagast and Lìvia walking into the room.

"Ah, Radagast there you are. Where have you been, and who is this little one?" Gandalf asked.

"Oh, Gandalf. Why, I have been here the whole time. Oh, this is -"

"Ada!" My daughter cried, letting go of Radagast's hand and running to me.

I bent down and picked her up, that is when Gandalf asked.

"So, this is Lìvian?"

"Yes, who are you?''

"Well, I am Gandalf the Grey, and this is Saruman the White."

I saw my daughters' face fall at the mention of Saruman.

"Lìvia? Is everything alright?"

She looked back at me and nodded.

"Yes, 'Ada.'"

"Well, Lívian. Do you like gifts?" Saruman asked.

~~~
A chain was now around Lìvias' neck. It held three crystal like gems, each one the color of the three wizards. In the middle was a white gem representing Saruman, to the right was a light grey representing Gandalf, and then one on the left was a brown representing Radagast.
Lìvia of course thanked them for the gift.
~~~

Dinner was about to be served, everyone was there talking among themselves.

Lìvia sat at the table bored, as everyone talked. She looked around the table at everyone who sat at it.

Her father sat at the end, to left was her mother, Arwen, herself, her Grandmother, and Grandfather. As to the right was an empty chair, Elrohir, Saruman, Gandalf, and Radagast.

Lìvias' eyes trailed back to Gandalf. As he was speaking, she noticed a red ring on his right hand. She stared at it in aw, as she saw swirls in the ring.

All of a sudden sparks came from the ring, making Lìvia jump.

"Gandalf, control that ring of yours." Saruman stated.

This caused silence across the table, as they watched the scene unfold.

"What ever do you mean?"

"I mean control that ring, before you set all of Imladris on fire."

Again sparks flew from the ring. Making everyone jump. Gandalf quickly pulled the ring off his finger, and placed it in his pocket.

"I am truly sorry, Lord Elrond. I have no idea what caused it to do that."

"It is quite alright."

"'Naneth?' Where is Elladan?" Lìvia asked looking at the empty seat.

"l do not know. Elrohir, where is your brother?" Celebrían asked.

Arwen and Elrohir tried to hide their smiles, though it failed.

"Last time I checked he and Glorfindel were getting ready." Elrohir said trying not to laugh.

"Ready for what?" Elrond asked.

Before Elrohir could answer, someone called his name.

"Elrohir!" Someone whispered.

Elrohir turned around to see who it was, it was Elladan.

"Excuse me." Elrohir said get up from his seat.

Making his way behind the pillars, he found Elladan and Glorfindel.

"What, is it Elladan?"

"Do, we have to do it this week?"

"Yes, you lost the bet. Now come on l am hungry." Elrohir said walking away.

"Oh, and by the way." He said turning back to them. "You both look, ravishing." Finishing with a smile.

Making his way back to the table, he stood beside his seat.

"Elrohir sit down, please." Elrond said.

"Not yet, 'Ada.' Frist I have an announcement to make."

"l am going to kill him." Elladan whispered, which made Elrohir smile wider.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Lords and Ladies. I give you my brother, Elladan and Glorfindel the Balrog Slayer."

Everyone clapped not sure on what was going on. Elladan and Glorfindel came out from behind the pillars, in dresses. That clapping quickly turned into laughter.

Embarrassing was all it was to the two elf Lords. Lìvia laughed so hard that she almost fell out of her chair. Celebrían and Elrond both cracked a smile, along with Galadriel and Celeborn. Even the wizards chuckled at the sight. Arwen and Elrohir truly thought it was priceless.

Lìvia jumped out of her seat and ran up to Elladan and Glorfindel.

'Hanna le.' She said.

"For, what Lìvia?" Elladan asked looking down at her.

"For the best birthday present ever." She said hugging his leg.

~~~
That night.
Everyone was asleep, and for once so was Lord Elrond. It had been a long time since he had gotten sleep. Mostly because Lìvia still slept in the same room as her parents.
Elronds' mind finally rested, hearing a voice. The same one that called him to the fountain four years ago.
~"She will be different, yet gifted. She will be called many things, but they will only make her stronger. Her hair will no longer be just white, for it will be brown as well.
She will have the gift of foresight, and will be a very skilled healer. A very skilled warrior as well.
She will have better hearing and eyesight, than any elves that ever lived. She will want to learn about the world and the dangers that live there. She will want to explore the lands beyond Rivendells' borders.
She will friend all things; to Hobbits, Men, even Dwarfs, not just the Elves. She will take part in something great. Something that will change Middle-earth. You can not stop her, for what she is destined for. Middle-earth...depends on it."~
Elrond woke up with a startle. Sitting straight up in the bed. Looking around the room, Elrond only found his sleeping wife and daughter.
Elrond made his way over to Lìvias' crib. Looking down he flinched upon seeing is daughter in such a state.
Her eyes wide open, unblinking, her breathing was slow. Her eyes were hazel, and not those dark, brown eyes she has.
Elrond was unsure what to do, in all his years he as never seen anything like this. Soon Lìvias' eyes regained her normal color, and her breathing returned too normal.
'Ada?' She whispered.
"Just go back to sleep, 'penneth.'"
"l saw a man, 'Ada.' He wore a crown in a white city."
Elrond wondered what his daughter ment, but he just brushed it aside.
Lìvia eventually fell back asleep. Elrond too went back to sleep, not knowing that it was the beginning of what Lìvia was destined for.
