Ending (3): Enough!

Your POV

I walked out of the house after Doc told me everything. I didn't know what I was doing but I couldn't be at his house. I walked home and sighed as I heard that my dad was awake. "Where in all hell have you been?" he asked as he staggered from his seat and he looked at me from the doorway of the living room. "Why do you care where I've been?" I asked as I walked by him into the kitchen. He followed me quickly as he grabbed my arm. "Answer me! Do you have any idea what I've had to eat since you've been gone! I've had to have TV dinners because you haven't been home to make dinner!" I snatched my arm from him as I growled. "Enough! I don't care, you've been a complete asshat ever since mom died! What would she think if she saw you acting like this? It wouldn't be very good for you now would it?" I asked.

He rose his hand to me before he swung and I was met with his hand. I hit the floor and held my face as I felt my eyes water a little, I blinked them away and ran up the stairs to my room before I slammed the door to my room. I heard him yelling from down the stairs. I grabbed my make up and packed a bag with everything that I could carry. I left through the window as I shimmied down from my upstairs window and down to the garage roof, to the oak tree outside of the house and then onto the ground before I took off down the street.

I went to town square before I looked at the police station and sighed. "Enough was enough" I said before I got up and went into the police station. I told them about everything my dad did and how he's been abusive since my mom died. They arrested him and a different patrol car took me over to Doc's house. He came outside with Marty and they both frowned as they saw me get out from the car.

The police officer went to talk to Doc. "Thank you officer, I'll take care of it from here." he said and the officer put his had back on before he left. I looked at Marty who was standing beside me before Doc walked over. "Hungry?" he asked. I nodded slowly as we went inside. We sat down and ate dinner and I told them what happened, Doc hadn't taken his eyes off of me as he held onto his fork a little tighter than he realized.

Marty looked over to him and then down at his food. It was silent between us three before I stood and put my plate in the sink as I was done. I went outside before I got onto the roof and sat there. I was out there for about an hour before Doc crawled out from the upstairs window and sat next to me. "I figured I'd find you up here. Too bad this isn't the courthouse. It's a little more secluded." he said and I smiled gently.

"I think we've both had enough fun up there, considering that you hung upside down from the statue that was up there." I said and he nodded. "That's very true." he said and we looked around the quiet neighborhood. "The guest room is free to be yours as long as you need it." he said before he kissed my forehead and then went back inside. I sighed as I looked at the locket that has been through time. I smiled gently as I thought about the gazebo and what happened there. I thought about everything we've been through in the last week and sighed gently.

Yesterday is long forgotten, today is almost over, and tomorrow isn't promised. We need to live in the moment and don't worry about the past we came from and the future we have yet to find. With that said, we can learn from our past mistakes and use the lessons we learn in the present to shape the future. I looked at the locket as I opened it up. I smiled gently as I looked at the picture of Emmett as he looked at me. I crawled into the window and got to the guestroom as I grabbed some paper and my favorite pencil before I drew teenage Emmett. I chose to draw him as he was trying to figure out an equation. The same nerdy look that he's always had.  I finished it and signed it before I smiled wide. Even though I would probably never see teenage Emmett I would still see the Doc I've known and loved for a long time. I even get to see him everyday since now we live together.

Thank you all so much for reading. I wrote the entire like 17 or so chapters in about two days. I hope you liked what happened with this story. I'm most likely not going to make a sequel to this book. I had been writing this one for quite a while. I think it was almost two years. Anyway! The details of what happened in the game are not exactly the same, some things were added while I wrote this, some were left out and some just didn't get into the story. If you want to know what was added and what not then you can get all the episodes of the game on Steam. So check it out, it's probably my favorite little series that I've known from the 80s and 90s even though the games are from like 2011. Thanks for reading!
