Ending (1): I'd Love To Stay!

Your POV

I walked to the time square and looked around for Emmett. I found him at the top of the clocktower as he sat there sadly. I hated seeing him like this so I walked across the street without another thought in my mind. I whistled to get his attention and I saw his face light up as he saw me. "You stay up there, I have something I want to say and I don't want you falling," I said. He nodded as he held onto the clock and the statue that looked oddly like Einey.

"You know, I've never really been one for words, but I'll have to think of something. Because if my calculations are correct then you'll love what I'm about to tell you." I said and he looked at me curiously as he smiled. I smiled and looked at him before I drew in a breath before I started to sing. By this time a crowd had started to form as Emmett looked at me from the clocktower.

You made me feel as though I was enough

You pulled me closer to your chest

I didn't know I loved you then, but somehow you knew.

I know I need you but it never showed until then.

But I want to stay with you now until we're grey and old, Just say you won't let go

I love you more than you know, just say you won't let go.

Darling your love is worth more than it's weight in gold, we've come so far my dear

Look how we've grown, I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old. Just say you won't let go.

I finished my little solo as everyone looked at Emmett and watched as he stood and went into the courthouse only to nearly knock the doors off their hinges and run over to me. He picked me up and spun me around before he kissed my deeply. Everyone around us clapped before they started to disperse. He pulled away as he smiled wide at me. "I thought that you weren't going to come back, that you weren't going to see me again." he said.

I shook my head. "I could tell you, but I would rather show you." I said before I handed him the locket. He looked at me as he opened it and he could see the two pictures. He pulled the one out from under his sweater vest and looked at it. "I put the picture in the locket after I got home yesterday, how did you get it?" he asked.

I smiled and cupped his face. "Would you believe me if I told you that your future self told me everything that you wanted to tell me in the time that you didn't see me? He told me how leaving you at the gazebo yesterday after you tried to give me the picture made you feel, what happened in the time after I left. What you wanted to say to me." I said.

He looked at me for a moment before he nodded. "I do believe you." he said. I kissed him again and smiled. "Then I have something to tell you, Emmett Lathrop Brown." I said as he looked at me, tilting his head as he was curious. "I love you, Emmett and I would love to stay here with you." I said. He blinked as he processed what he heard.

He smiled wide as he laughed before he hugged me quickly. "Yes! You will? That's great, I have so many ideas that I want to share with you!" he smiled wide as he took my hands in his before he kissed me again deeply. I kissed back and he pulled away, blushing gently.

"We should go see my pop, I told him about yesterday and he's going to be overjoyed when he hears about this" he said. I giggled and nodded as we walked hand in hand to the courthouse before we went to his office.

"Hey, Pop?" he asked as he leaned his head into the office.

"Yes, Emmett my son? What did you need, I thought you were in your lab?" he asked.

"Well Dad, I had something come up and decided that I wanted to show you." he said as he smiled wide, I was still in the hallway a little as Judge Brown stood up and looked at his son.

"Remember that girl I told you about? The one that I said I had strong feelings for?" he asked and his dad nodded. "Is this the girl, son?" he asked and Emmett nodded as he pulled me into the room. "She is, I wanted you to meet her officially so you could put a face to the name" he said as they looked at me.

I looked to Emmett who was as happy as could be before I looked at Judge Brown. He looked at me and at first I thought he looked through me as he walked around his desk to us. My heart was pounding as his face moved from a scowl to a smile. Emmett smiled wide as he looked at his dad.

"I never knew you had it in you son, finding such a lovely young lady to call your own." he said and I blushed gently. "Thanks, pop." he said as he squeezed my hand gently. I smiled at him as his dad let us leave as we went to the gazebo and I smiled gently. "What do you want to do now?" I asked and Emmett smiled before he pulled me closer.

"I just want to hold you, to be with you." he said as I leaned into his chest. "I love you, I don't know why I didn't see it before" I said as he rubbed my back slowly. He kissed my forehead gently as he leaned on the rail of the gazebo more. "Don't worry about it." he said.

"After you left I knew I had feelings for someone and I just ended up thinking that it was Edna instead of you. So I really figured it out after you and Marty broke us up. I have to thank you both for that since I wouldn't have figured it out it was you." he said and I smiled as I held him closer to me.

"I love you (y/n). I'm really glad that you decided to stay here with me, because now I can see your beautiful smile everyday, make you laugh at my terrible science jokes. How would you like to be my girlfriend?" he asked as he looked at me, I smiled wide as I nodded. "Emmett I would love to be your girlfriend." I said. We sealed it with a kiss and stayed on the gazebo a bit longer before we went to the lab to think about other inventions he could make.

-Time Skip-

1986

I looked over to my husband as he came in from the garage, smoke came into the house behind him as I rose a brow. He coughed and waved his hand in front of his face as he looked at me and smiled. "What did you blow up this time?" I asked as I walked over to him and wiped some of the soot from his face.

"Oh you know, just the same old small invention that backfires." he said before shrugging. "Where's the boys?" he asked. I hummed gently. "I think Marty took them outside." I said and he nodded before we went outside to find them. We had gotten married not a year or two after I went back to see him at the courthouse. In the last 50 years we decided to settle down, bought a house together, I helped him work on a lot of his inventions, then not too long ago, we had the boys. Jules and Verne. After we met Marty again in this time, of course, he didn't know who I was so I haven't been able to tell him that I was once in his class before I went back to be with Emmett. I smiled as I watched my two sons and my husband as he chased them around the yard with Marty.

We had taken the flux capacitor out of the DeLorean not long after I got back, since I wasn't going to be time traveling anytime soon and we didn't need it anymore since everything was fixed. By the time I would see Marty again he would have just be meeting Doc so that wasn't anything to worry about either. I smiled as I called the four in for dinner, Marty followed the boys first before they went to the dining room and Emmett looked at me as he smiled gently.

"I'm still really happy that you decided to stay with me in 1931. I couldn't have dreamed for anything different than the life I have with you and the boys. I love you." he said before he kissed me gently.

"I love you too, Emmett." I smiled as  I closed the door and he walked through the living room. "Now let's get some food for you boys." I said as I followed him into the dining room.
