Chapter 7: You're Back!

The next chapters are based on the episode Back to the future episode 2: Get Tannen!

Your POV

We sighed deeply before we looked to Marty who released a pained moan. I walked over as Doc looked at us both. "Marty, what is it?" I asked. He groaned again and I saw him fade in and out. "Doc where's that newspaper?" I asked before he threw it over. "Arther got beaten and left for dead on the courthouse steps!" I put the newspaper back in my pocket before I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, messing it up.

"Kid got to Arther after we left because of that subpoena and now you're fading out of existence. How are we going to fix this?" I asked Doc got into the DeLorean and turned on the time switch. "When did you last see Artie?" he asked.

"Around 4 in time square," Marty said as he leaned on the DeLorean hood. "We'll have to go back to then to make sure your grandpa has time to make his deposition. We have to do it without seeing our past selves." Doc said.

"That's easy for you, you were in jail." I chuckled. Marty pulled me down behind the car before we heard Officer Danny. I looked to Marty as we shuffled around the DeLorean before we grabbed the keys and made it around to the driver side as we hopped in and took off. "Doc what about you?"

"Don't worry about me, just save Artie!" he said as we drove off and the DeLorean hit 88 miles an hour. "I really hate leaving him behind like this" I said. Marty nodded. "Me too but we have to, he'll be fine, it's Doc"

We got back to time square as Artie was seeing the District Attorney. I noticed that Edna was walking over and stopped us. "Ah Mr. Callahan and Miss Thorne, I have a few follow up questions about Carl Sagan."   she said as she had her pencil and pad of paper. Marty and I looked at each other before he glanced to his grandpa."We can't talk right now, we have to meet my grandpa." he said. "Oh? What for?" she asked,

"We had to discuss our taxes in the courthouse." I said. She hummed and nodded. "Don't let me keep you." she said and let us through before we made our way to the courthouse.

"Ah Miss Thorne!" I heard and turned around to see Emmett. I nodded to Marty before he walked over to the courthouse. "I need you to check over how much power the rocket drill needs. So far I've calculated 1.12 kilowatts of power." he said.

I nodded and smiled gently.  "Emmett, if you made the calculations, I'm sure they're right. You don't need to be so self-conscious with your work, don't worry about it." I said and tilted my head. He gave a nervous chuckle before he rubbed the back of his neck, a light blush dust his cheeks. I saw that the first Marty was coming back around before I ducked behind the stone wall as they talked before leaving.

I stood up straight and sighed deeply as I saw Marty walk back over and shake his head. I rubbed my chin a little and I sighed gently. "Now what do we do?" I asked. He hummed gently. "We need to find wherever Tannen's thugs took my grandpa." he said before he sighed gently. We wandered around for a bit before we noticed one of his gang members going into the soup kitchen. We followed quickly before we followed Cueball and a couple others to the alley.

We saw Kid and a girl talking to Artie with some thugs around. She walked off before they dragged Artie inside. I looked to Marty and sighed gently. "Will one of you slobs start hauling these crates in?" Kid asked as he walked off after giving them instructions. We got into a couple of them while we waited to be carried inside.

Cueball came outside and grabbed the crates we were in before carrying us inside. He put us down behind the bar and we crawled out slowly. "How much chloroform did you put on that rag?" Matches asked. "Why?" Cueball answered. "Sleeping beauty here won't wake up." I said.

We stayed behind the bar and shook our heads as we stayed behind the bar as Zane was drawing the poster for Trixie. Matches was working on getting Artie awake and Cueball was playing the piano. I reached over and clicked the switch to the El Kid sign as it burnt out. "Did we blow a fuse?"I heard and noticed that Cueball left. We clicked the button for the bar to go down and the curtain to fall before a bottle was knocked off.

The elevator that Cueball went up had gotten stuck so all we had to do was Knock out Matches and then drag Artie out of here and get Doc. Which was what did.
