Chapter 2: That's Heavy

Your POV

I was in my room on my bed sulking like i have been for the past few days. Marty has been over trying to get me to see Doc but I've ignored him. At least until I heard his truck pull in the drive. And not one but two doors close.

"Shit..." I mumbled. I sat up and grabbed my headphones and sitting in my bay window. I pretended not to see the door open and Doc standing there. I paid attention to my music as he walked over.

He poked my arm. I pushed a speaker off my ear. "Why haven't you been to the lab?" He asked. I sighed. "Am I not allowed to stay home?" I asked. This time it was his turn to sigh. "Well, you can. It just worried me that you didn't call. And you ignored Marty." He said.

I looked at him pushing my headphones to my shoulders. "I made the almighty Doc Brown worried. Now that's heavy." I said and walked by him. He sighed as he grabbed my shoulder. "What's going on with you? You've never acted this way before. Is it that week again?" He asked quietly. It took every fiber of my being not to smile at him. "Come on, smile." He said and flashed his gentle yet crazed one.

I smiled widely. "You stop that," I said and hit his arm lightly. He chuckled and sat down. I sat down with him as silence filled the air. "So, what's been bothering you?" He asked. I sighed and laid down.

He turned to look at me. "How about the fact you kept a secret from me." I said lowly. He rose a brow. "If my calculations are correct there's more to that statement." He said.

"Great Scott. Must you always dig deeper?" I asked. "I am a scientist." He said with a shrug. I sighed and sat up again. He put an arm around me and pulled me closer. "Tell me when you're ready. And if you feel up to it we're tearing the flux capacitor out of the DeLorean today." He said as he stood and put his hat back on.

I nodded and he gave a small smile before gently closing the door and walking out. I sighed and got dressed quickly. I ran out of the house and watched as doc closed his door. They smiled at me and I ran to the truck and jumped into the back seat.

They smiled at me. "You change your mind faster than the time machine goes," Doc said making us laugh. I smiled as I looked out the window. I was happy to be back with the only two that mattered. Or should I say three? Einey counts too.
