Chapter 10: Bye-Bye Tannen!

We went back into the speakeasy. Marty got a caricature from Zane of George before he hung it on the wall. I watched as he went over to Trixie to say that Artie was on the wall of fame which made her yell at Kid.

"Felony tax evasion," she mumbled as she looked at Marty before telling him how he hasn't been paying taxes on his speakeasy profits.

I hummed before I went outside to get a copy of Edna's song from her table. I shuddered as I remembered her terrible singing. We went back inside of the speakeasy and stuck it on Trixie's table over her I don't care lyrics and sighed gently.

She started to memorize it before we went to select the song for her to sing so Danny could tell us his tale of woe.

"Come to me, my melancholy baaby. Cuddle up and don't be blue. All your fears are foolish fancy, maybe you know dear that I'm in love with you. Every cloud must have a silver lining, wait until the sun shines through. Smile my honey dear, while I kiss away each tear. Or else I shall be melancholy too."

Danny started to spill the beans to us. "It all started on June 14th. I was chasing down one of Tannen's boys when this car straight out of Buck Roger popped up out of nowhere and ran my car off the road! Then later, I lost track of a witness. Poor schlub hasn't been heard from since. And then, to top it off,  I somehow managed to lose custody of an 80-year old arsonist, when not one but two of those godforsaken space cars showed up and whisked him away!"

"That's unbelievable," he said.

"That's what the chief said, demoted me on the spot. My family sent to me to a psychiatrist, 'cause they thought I was seeing things, and worse of all my gal Betty left me, 'cause she thinks I'm a bad provider and a headcase."

I looked to Marty before we went back over to the songs and flipped through them. We played one that would tell his secrets.

"I've been working for Tannen for over a month now. It's true all I gotta do is look the other way while evidence is being destroyed or a truck full of gin is coming across the county line, and Tannen makes sure that an extra bunch of bills makes their way into my pay envelope."

We looked at each other. "He's a dirty cop." I mumbled before we started to play a different song that got Danny to talk to Trixie about what she had on Kid. He looked at everything before he told everyone to leave. They left and we followed outside as Danny had a car blocking the alley.

We were getting ready to leave before we noticed that Kid dropped a flask and that Einey was in the alley. We let him smell the flask before he led us to a button that was in the wall. I pushed it even though every movie with a red button says not to push it but I got curious. The door opened up and it showed Kid and a tied up Edna.

He started to shoot at us as we dove behind things. Marty was behind the car with Danny and I shuffled behind a couple of barrels before we saw Edna open the side door. She was starting to get out as we distracted him so she could get away. I poured a barrel of rum onto the ground and rolled it to the door that Kid was shooting from. It made a pretty good trail that we could light. Marty pointed the fake gun he had gotten from Biff and his brothers and dropped it on the trail and lit it.

Kid started to get away. I got up and kicked off the ridiculous heels and dropped the boa before I chased after Tannen as he scaled a ladder to the roof where Emmett's flying car was at. Emmett was luckily still trying to figure out a way to get it off the roof as he was by the gazebo. "Hold it right there Tannen!" I said.

Marty's POV

I ran around the corner and saw Emmett. "Emmett! Have you seen Dorothy?" I asked. He looked at me and shook his head. "I haven't seen her, why?"

"She chased Kid out of the speakeasy and I think she's on the roof of a building and she hates heights!" I said as I looked at Emmett. He looked around before we heard a scream from the roof where the car was at.

"Don't tell me she followed him up there" he said.

"I think she did, how can we get her down?"I asked.

He started muttering after he looked at her again as she was on one side of the car while Tannen was on the other. His pistol drawn.

Your POV

Great, what did you get yourself into this time (y/n). Always doing crazy shit without thinking, if you die from this you'll never see another pizza again.

I gulped as I danced around Tannen a little with the car in between us. I heard Emmett from a speaker in the car. "Listen to me carefully, you need to get Kid in the car and I'll do the rest."

I hummed a little as he looked at me. I glanced down a little as I saw them. "I never should have tried to offer you a job, doll." he said as he pulled a knife. We shuffled around the car before I noticed that the roof of the car opened and closed. I closed it as he leaned forward before I took one  of my gloves and threw it before the car took off with Kid in it. He flew around before he landed in the manure truck. I giggled gently before I got off the roof and took off my other glove. Marty ran over and hugged me tightly before I saw Emmett.

Marty shook his head and went to find Einey before Emmett walked over. "Thanks for helping me out with Tannen" I said.

He blushed gently and nodded before he looked at me. "Are you okay? Marty told me how you hate heights"

I smiled gently and nodded. "They give me the willies. I'm just glad to be on the ground, but I won't be on the roof again for a while."

He chuckled gently as he looked at me before pulling the locket out from under his shirt. "I've been meaning to ask you, who's the picture of in this locket, at first I thought it was you but the picture is too old." I smiled gently as I opened it to see the picture.

"I can't tell you all of my secrets, I have to keep some mystery. I'll tell you what, next time I see you I'll tell you who it is, okay?" I asked before I put it back under his vest and he sighed before nodding gently. "If it means I can see you and your unruly hair, Miss Thorne, then I'll gladly wait." he said and I giggled.

I pulled him closer and hugged him, his shaky hands finding their way around my waist slowly as he smiled gently. He was taller than me so I was in his chest and not on his shoulder. I pulled away and looked at him before kissing his cheek. I'll see you later, Emmett. Keep expanding that brain of yours, and go see Frankenstein"I said. He nodded and smiled, a blush playing at his cheeks as he looked at me. I caught up with Marty, Doc and Einey.

3rd Person POV

"I believe I owe you an apology Mr. Brown. Thanks to your ridiculous contraption, Hill Valley's most notorious criminal is finally headed to prison." Edna said.

"No apologies necessary, Miss Strickland,My rocket car may have accidentally saved the day, but only because it's a completely out of control failure. I need a new idea."

"If you're  willing to listen, I might have a few suggestions."

"But first,  I think we should take in a movie." he said.

"I'm all yours Mr. Brown."

"I think you'll like it. It's all about a brilliant scientist with an overabundance of hubris." he said as they walked towards the movie theater to see Frankenstein. After Edna saw what the movie was she started to walk the other way, only for Emmett to catch up to her and for them to leave hand in hand. Emmett never saw "Frankenstein"
