Soft Cassie, Warm Deanie, Little Ball Of Ships
Dean and Cas had become more acquainted with one another. They were best friends.
What Dean found most intriguing about Cas was his markings. He was a black cat with white marks on his sides shaped like wings. It made Dean wonder if he could fly.
"They're just birthmarks," Cas had told him. "It's not like I'm a bird."
"I know, they just look like wings is all."
"You're not gonna make me fly, are you? My brother wouldn't approve of that kind of stunt."
"I don't care what Gabriel thinks. And don't worry, I'm not gonna make you jump off the couch or anything."
"Thank you."
"I mean, even if I were to make you jump, it's not like you'd have anything to worry about."
Cas cocked his head to the side. "What do you mean?"
"Well, cats land on their feet. It's a proven fact."
"Proven by who?"
"Cats. Duh."
"Do you want me to fly?"
"It's not flying. It's falling with style. Just keep that in mind."
"Keep that in mind when I jump?"
"If you insist on jumping, that's fine by me."
And that's how Dean tricked Cas into jumping off the couch.
"Are you sure about this?" Cas asked from the edge of the couch as Dean watched him from behind.
"Just don't look down."
And that's exactly what Cas did do. He shouldn't have.
But he jumped anyway. Because he wanted Dean to be satisfied.
He knew how to land on his paws, but when he caught air, he panicked a little. Instead, he landed on his face.
"OW!" He yelled from the ground.
"You okay, Cas?" Dean called, genuine concern in his voice.
"I'm fine. My head broke my fall."
Dean jumped down, on his paws, and checked on him. "You sure? Nothing's broken? Nothing's bruised?"
"I'm fine." He reiterated. He stood up, keeping his left front paw off the ground a little.
"You're limping."
"I landed on my face, Dean. How would I have injured my leg?"
"I'm sorry, Cas. I shouldn't have made you jump. That was stupid."
"It's okay. It's fine. I'm fine."
"Then stop limping."
Cas looked away from him. "I can't," He mumbled. "It hurts."
Dean gently licked his injured paw. "Is that better?"
"No."
Dean grinned and licked his cheek. "How bout now?"
"Not really."
He licked him on the nose. "Now?"
Cas looked into his green eyes. "A bit."
