Chapter 87 ~ Thanks, I Get That A Lot
Brianna's POV
"Wake up, wake up!" I rub my eyes and slowly open them.
"Your mom has ever so kindly offered to send me and my mom off at the airport, so you're coming too!" Emily says.
"Do I have to?" I ask, ya wig mid-sentence.
"Yes, now let's go!"
"Ugh." I slowly get out of bed and towards my closet and drawers to pick my clothes. "What time is it anyways?"
"3:30," Emily says, placing her hairbrush in her plastic bag.
"In the morning?!"
"Yeah."
"You're crazy."
"Thanks, I get that a lot." I roll my eyes and flick through my options. I bring my clothes to the bathroom. I slip on my black tang top and black jeans. I wear the jacket Emily got for me- well I payed her back- at the mall the other day on and combed through my mess of hair. I probably should've taken a shower or something before this, I think to myself. Oh well!
I put my hair up in a ponytail and walk out of the bathroom. "My mom's bringing my suitcase with her from the hotel," Emily says as I get to my room.
"Ok," I say. "This better be good, I have school today," I complain.
"You'll be fine," she assures.
"Sure..."
"What, you don't trust me?" she asks, turning to face me and puts her hands on her hips.
"No, I trust you. It's just that, yeah!"
"You're one confusing person."
"Yeah, I get that a lot."
"Bri!" I hear my mom call from downstairs.
"Yeah?" I answer back.
"Bring your backpack, I don't know when we're gonna come back to Arcadia."
"Ok!" I grab my backpack and trot down stairs.

We get to Emily's mom's hotel at about 4:15. "Alight, Mel," Emily's mom says, "You follow behind me when I go drop off the rental. Then I'll hop into your car and you'll take us to the airport. Right?"
Mom nods her head. "You got that right, Helen."
"Great! Let's get moving kiddos! Or else we're gonna be hecka late, right bros?" Oh no, not Emily's mom too!
"Mom," Emily warns.
"Shh, don't worry," I hush, "Mine is like that too."
Mom managed to drag Will out of the house to come as well. He gets in the passenger seat of our car while mom drives to the car rental place. Emily and I sit in the backseat. Emily's mom- or, Helen- went in the rental car.
"Let's sing a road trip song!" Emily suggests as we leave the parking lot of the hotel.
"Emily, our destination is literally five minutes away.
"I don't care," she simply says. "Ninety nine bottles of beer on the wa- wait wait wait. Ninety nice cartons of milk on the wall. Ninety cartons of miiiiilk!" Emily sings. "Take one down, open the spout, drinkity drink till the milk runs out! Ninety seven votes of milk on the wall! Ninety seven bottles of miii-" I interrupt her.
"You skipped ninety eight," I say.
"I DON'T CARE!" Then she keeps on singing.
By the time she gets to 87, we're already at the dealer. We wait in the parking lot for Emily's mom. She finally comes out after about ten minutes. When you forget your phone at home, ten minutes is an eternity.
I check my backpack for things I could do for the about half an hour long ride to the airport. 5:20. Pack of gum? No. Spirals? No. Coloring book and markers I just happen to have in my backpack? HECK YEA!
I take the book and markers out of my backpack. I open the book and turn to a random page. I take out a color and staring filling in the flowers in the background. This particular page was a nature scene. Will gets out of the car to sit in the back with Emily and I as Emily's mom sat in the passenger seat with mom. Mom starts the car as I continue coloring. "Imma mess you up," Emily says.
"No! Not the colors!" I defend.
Emily reaches to knock the tip of the marker but I move it away before she can cause any havoc to my beautiful drawing.
We back out of the parking spot and head towards the main road. I jostle up and then down and then up and down again, messing me up, making my red marker cross the page leaving a huge red line. "DANG IT!" I yell. "DARN SPEED BUMPS!"

We reach the airport at about 5:20. "Ok, I go around this circle for pick up and drop off while Bri and Will make sure Emily and Helen make it safely to custody," mom explains.
"Got it," we all agree.
"Hey, when even is your flight, Helen?" mom asks.
"5:30," she replies.
"Oh, we gotta go! Everyone off the car when I stop it. You know the plan," mom says. We come to a stop by the Kansas Airlines board and we all jump off the car. It kinda reminded me of some intense action scene. Will opened the back of the car so Emily and her mom could grab their suit cases.
He closes it up and meets up with us as we run through the airport. "What line?" I ask.
"4," Emily's mom replies.
They get to the checkout line and do their business there. They drop of their bags and we run to custody.
Literally, I've never ran so fast this early in the morning in my life. "Go go go!" Helen says. They teach custody and enter the doors automatically since they had a speed ticket thing I guess. I don't know, I'm don't even airport!
"Bye!" I shout as they take off their shoes. I wave like a mad man. They spot me and wave back.
"Mom texted me," Will says. "She says she's waiting at the pick up place."
"Well what are we waiting for then?" I ask. "Let's go!" We run back to the entrance. I mean, she can only stall for so long. Down the winding corridors and out the front door we go. We dart to our car but she drives away to make another painful loop around before we get there. The officer on his Segway says to us, "She'll come back." Like that helps at all!
Mom eventually finishes her loop and picks us up.
"It's 5:35," she says, "there's major traffic on the way back to Arcadia. We're going straight to school from here, k?" she asks.
"Kay," I reply and just stare out the window for our everlasting journey. Might as well get some sleep before school starts. And I drift off into my morning snooze.
Hey guys! So yes, italics work now because I changed my font. Woohoo! See ya all in the next chapter!
Till then,
