Chapter 56 ~ The Mirror Almost Fainted

  Brianna's POV

"It's time to wake up, Bri," I hear someone say.

"Five more minutes," u reply while making an attempt to swat them away with my hand.

"WAKE UP!" I get something soft thrown at me. I open my eyes groggily. It's dark. Wait, it's just a pillow. I take it off my face. I see Jade's already dressed and ready for the day.

"Hi", I say sitting up. She gets off the bed and says, "We have five minutes until we have to be outside," and walks out. FIVE MINUTES?!? I dart out of bed- but first I make the covers all neat and stuff- and grab some clothes I had picked out last night before I went to bed. I went inside the hallway bathroom and changed into a black crop top, black leggings, black beanie, boots and a jacket which were- I'm not even gonna bother telling you because you already know it's gonna be black, like my soul-black as well. I brushed my teeth while I was at it as well. I quickly comb my hair and take a hair tie of the bedside table to put around my wrist for later.

I run into the kitchen and grab a pop tart I brought with me from Arcadia. I don't see the point of brushing your teeth before you eat since your teeth are just gonna get dirty all over again, but hey, I'm in a rush.

Everyone's already outside by the bus stop, so I'm the only one inside. I grab my pack pack and charge out the door.

"I'm here!" I say out of breath.

"About time," Will says. I comb my hair with my fingers and tie my hair up with the hair tie into a high ponytail.

"It's not my fault my alarm clock didn't wake me up," I state.

"Actually," Jade says, "It went off several times and you never stopped it so I had to for you."

"Ha! Pathetic," Chris says from the opposite side of the bus stop.

"Shut up," I call.

"I see someone was in a hurry today," someone says from behind. I turn around and yeah, you guessed it. Adelaide.

"None of your business," I say.

"Actually, everything's my business. I know everything about everyone in this school. Their birthday, their pets, their secret collections. How's that stamp collection going? Have you found number 582 yet?" she says. Stalker much, Adelaide?

"How do you know this?" I ask, a little scared.

"I have my ways," she says. She looks at Will.

"Ok, I might have told her stuff about you," he says to me.

"WHAT?!? HOW?!? WHY?!? WHEN?!? WAAA!?" I exclaim. By this point I'm on the ground curled up in a ball with my backpack next to me for comfort.

"What, you can't control my actions. I'm older!" he argues.

"Only by two and a half years!"

"I'm still older though!"

"I'm done!" I pick up my backpack and walk to the opposite side of the bus stop. "I surrender!" I call back.

The bus arrives a little late so we get to the museum later. When all three groups exit the bus, we all sit on the steps of the museum. "Good morning, students," Mr. Paisley announces. Groans can be heard throughout the crowd, probably from lack of sleep. "I see everyone is energetic this morning." Someone sitting next to me from someone else's group is scrunching up balls of binder paper. He throws one at Mr. Paisley. "Anyways!" Mr. Paisley says, trying to sound like he's happy here, "We will be entering the museum now. You will be assigned a partner either from your group or another group. We are trying to get people to mingle and make friends, so you will most likely be assigned someone from another group. Everyone clear?"

"I wanna go home!" someone shouts from the back. Due to the sassyness in her- most likely a her, it's high pitched- voice, I think it's a popular.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Henry, you will have to stay here until we depart early in the morning on Friday," he says calmly. I think he's faking it to be honest.

"Ok, I'll be reading off the partner names," Will says and raised his arm slightly into the air. He was chosen to help Mr. Paisley today.

I hear mumbles from across the crowd. Someone behind me said something like, "You see that guy in the front?"

Someone else near her- I'm guessing it's a her- said, "The one with the clipboard?"

"Yeah, that one."

"Yeah, what about him?"

"Isn't he kinda cute?" Somebody gag me please. I don't need this torture. They started giggling about God knows what afterwards. I turn around and tell them, "Pfft, wait till you see him in the morning with the eye crusties. God, the mirror almost fainted when it saw him," and turn back around.

He gets through a majority of the partners when I hear, "Myers, Brianna." I perk up from my slouching position. "Jenkins, Adelaide." You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me. How cliche can my life get? It's like this anime I watch where the plot makes no sense whatsoever!

"Great..." I mumble under my breath and slouch down while pulling my beanie even lower and so it covers my eyes and the bridge of my nose.

"I heard that," I hear someone say. I peel my beanie up and see Adelaide. Oh, God, please help me.

"Heard what? You're stupidity? Congrats! You're not deaf. Now let's go, everyone's inside already." I leave without her to go inside.

Hey guys! I know, it's cliche, but who doesn't love a cliche book? Thanks for 600 reads as well! :) See ya all in the next chapter!

Till then,
~Orchid
