Chapter 5 ~ Shopping Is Stupid
Brianna's POV
I was never a fan of shopping. Usually my mom does it all and I just tell her if it's nice or not.
Jade was practically pulling me to her car so we could get to the mall. I swear I had red lines from her fingers grasping my wrist too tight.
I sat in the passenger seat while Jade drove and Heather sat in the back. Andrea, Shawn, Walter, and Chris all went in Shawn's car. Jade turned on the radio and blasted some music I don't know. Heather was singing along before Jade stopped her.
"Heather?" She asked.
"Yes, Jade?" Heather said back.
"Will you kindly shut up?"
"S-sure." She stuttered. Geez. Subtle much, Jade?
When we got to the mall, Jade parked the car and I left my backpack in the car seen as I wouldn't need it. The three of us walked to the shop Jade, Heather, and Andrea like to buy there clothes from.
The place was quite dark and all you could see was black and gray clothes lining the walls. Not really my style, but there's always a first for everything right? Jade picked out some clothes for me to try on in the fitting room (refer to picture above or to the side). It wasn't really something I would wear, but it wasn't that bad.
I changed and came out. "Do I look rebellious yet, Jade?" I asked.
"It'll do for now. C'mon let's go buy it. I hope you brought money because I didn't." she said.
I checked my pockets for spare money. In my back left pocket of my jeans I found the money I brought to school if I needed to bribe my ex-friends. I took it out and gave it to Jade. "I want the change back," I told her.
"Whatever."
We met the others at the food court after shopping. I exchanged my phone number with everyone and everyone gave me their's.
"I hate this," Shawn said, "Shopping is stupid."
"I agree," said Walter, "Andrea spent the whole time in that one store."
"Hey! It's not my fault they had so many clothes in there," Andrea objected.
"Shut up, guys, I'm trying to eat my yogurt here." Jade says while digging her spoon into the cup of blueberry yogurt to get another mouth full.
I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I got a text message.
I'm at ur house but Will said u weren't home. Should we have study sessions tomorrow?
- Bailey
Poop! I totally forgot about tonight's study session! "Jade, I have to get home. Could you drive me back now?"
"But my yogurt!" She whined and got up throwing it away, "Ugh fine. You're glad I'm so nice. I'll see you guys at school tomorrow. Let's go, Bri."
I texted Bailey back.
Hey, sorry bout that. I'll be right there
I got in the car and buckled my seatbelt. Jade got in and did the same. I told her my address. She started the car and backed out of the parking space. "So why exactly do you need to get home so bad?" she asks.
"I..uh" I stuttered. Should I tell her about Bailey? "My cat threw up. Yeah, that's it. Stomach flu," I lied. That was a horrible fib. First of all, I don't even have a cat, and second of all, I'm allergic! But Jade doesn't know that, so it works out.
"You don't need to lie to me, Bri. I can tell you are."
"What? Me? Lying? No..I..Bailey," I slapped my mouth shut. "Nothing, nothing."
"Sure, sure."
The rest of the car ride was pretty awkward. She kept her eyes on the road- thank god- and I just looked out my window watching the houses roll by.
When Jade parked outside of my house, I thanked her for the ride, grabbed my bag, picked up the clothes I bought, and walked to the front door while she drove off somewhere. I don't think she noticed Bailey's car in front of my house, phew.
I took out my house keys and unlocked the door. Bailey was sitting on my couch watching tv. "About time," she joked. I laughed. Bailey saw the clothing bag and asked, "I didn't know you shopped at that store, Bri," she said pointing to the bag.
"I..uh..no. I just needed to put something in a bag and this was the only one I could find." I totally saved it.
Not.
"Sure... Anyways, should we start the study session?"
"Yeah, of course let's start."

Bailey was asleep on my bed. It made sense since we studied for more than 3 hours. "Bailey," I poked her arm, "Bailey wake up." She stirred. "Five more minutes," she mumbled.
"No! Wake up! Or at least move over."
She moved over and fell back asleep. "Never mind, I'm going to sleep downstairs."
I texted Jack because I was bored.
Hey Jack, I said.
Hey Bri.
What are you doing?
Texting you.
That's not what I meant, Jack Mitchell Simmons!
How dare you use my full name, Brianna Diane Hughes!
😂😂😂, I texted back. He makes me laugh all the time. Sometimes too much.
I turned off my phone, and fell asleep on the couch.
(No author's note) See ya all in the next chapter!
Till then,
