Chapter 28 ~ She Actually Speaks

Brianna's POV

I wake up and Will is next to my bed. Why does this always happen to me? "Aah!" I scream and throw a pillow at him while pulling the covers higher. "Morning to you too," he says throwing the pillow back.

"What are you doing in my room?" I ask sitting up.

"Well, you'd think your older bother would want to wish you a happy 18th birthday, right?"

"Oh." I totally forgot it was my birthday. No one will know about this... "Thanks, William."

He play punches me in the shoulder. "Don't call me William."

"Whatever... William." I make a run out of my room before he can get me again. I run down the stairs and my mom is at the dining room table. "Morning, mom," I say still running around.

"Morning, Bri. Happy birthday. Someone's hyper this morning, huh?" She flips the page of her magazine and takes a sip of her coffee.

"No, it's just that Will is trying to kill me." I hear footsteps on the stairs. "Don't tell him I'm here, mom." I hide underneath the table so that the table cloth covers most of me. She just laughs and continues to read her magazine.

I see Will's batman socks in front of the table. "Have you seen Bri, mom?" he asks, tapping his foot up and down.

"Nope," she says. I couldn't help but giggle at my mom sounding so relaxed that her son is trying to murder her only daughter.

"I heard that, Bri." Will looks under the table and finds me squirming but the leg. "You're dead." He picks me up and pins me to the couch while tickling me. "Stop! Stop! I'll stop calling you that!" I say in between laughs.

"You better..." He steps away from the couch and walks upstairs. I have one crazy family.

************

I don't plan on telling anyone it's my birthday. I don't want any crazy plans happening.

The group isn't in the front half of the school this morning. They must be behind or something. Instead, the popular group has dominated the lawn. I try my best to make my way around them. It doesn't work very well.

"Hey, Bri!" Bailey says, causing me to stop. If I wasn't so nice, I would've kept walking.

"Oh, hey Bailey," I say playing with my hair tie around my wrist.

"Happy birthday!" Shoot. I forgot that we used to be best friends.

"Thanks," I say and walk away. From behind I hear people say things like, "It's her birthday?" and, "She actually speaks?". I just hope it doesn't spread around the school.

*************

I forgot my lunch at home, so I was forced to buy lunch. I see the group on the cafeteria for once. They all sit at my table. How wonderful.

  Not.

Once I get my lunch, I walk over to my table, being careful to avoid the spaghetti spilt on the floor, and the empty orange juice cartons. I place my lunch down and put my backpack on the floor. "Hey guys," I say after settling in. Everyone was quiet and looking down at their food. Even Katelyn and Johnnie weren't talking to each other. Shocker.

Heather looks up from her salad and towards me. "Haaaaaaaaappy birthday to you!" Oh no! It's happening. The rest of the table starts singing as well. I don't know why, but the rest of the cafeteria starts singing too! What even? Did they plan this? Or does everyone just love singing happy birthday. I mean, come on. Who doesn't love singing happy birthday? I quickly walk out of the cafeteria and sit at a table outside. Everyone was still singing and people outside were staring. Great. Heather and Katelyn follow me out and sit outside with me. "Heh heh, happy birthday Bri," Katelyn says.

Hey guys! So this did happen in real life :3. So yeah. But the characters are still from my blob of a brain. See ya all in the next chapter!

Till then,
~Orchid
