Brianna's POV

  I walk out of school and Bailey comes up to me. "Hey, Bri," she says looking down at the ground.

  "Oh hey," I say, "I haven't seen you since that time I wished I'd never see you again.

  "Wow, your comebacks are getting better, Bri. So, you haven't answered my texts lately. Why?" Bailey questions.

  "Well, you'd think I have a reason for ignoring you," I say, "Which I do."

  "And what's that?"

  "I don't know, honestly. But I think it has something to do with you, Collin, and Jack totally abandoning me in the dust."

  "Look, I'm sorry, ok, Bri?" Bailey says. She doesn't sound very convincing though.

  "That's great. Goodbye now." I say and walk away.

~•~Le time skip to comeback lessons~•~

"Hey guys," I say dumping my bag on the carpet of Jade's room. "Katelyn and Chris were just fighting over what they want their project to be," Jade says. "I wanna do this project," Katelyn says pointing to an article on a piece of paper. "How rock musk makes you happy?" Chris asks.

"Yeah, you have a problem with that or something?"

"Isn't this idea kinda, I don't know, stupid?"

"Oh, shut up." Katelyn looks really annoyed.

"Ladies first," Chris says out of now where.

"Ugh! Let's just forget this ever happened. You were saying, Jade?"

"Oh, right," Jade says. "You are going to be coming up with your own comebacks today. There will be no roleplaying, just plain, witty comebacks."

"Ok," I say. I was pretty confident since last time. I think I'm pretty good at this.

"Ready, set, go!" Jade says.

I think for a moment for a good comeback. "I am allergic to idiots. Side affects may include me slapping the idiot. In that case, I suggest you get the heck away from me." Everyone bursts into laughter. "I think we can all agree that we're allergic to idiots," Katelyn says and scoots away from Chris. "Wow, offensive much?" He says.

  "Do another one, Bri!" Heather says.

  "Ok," I say, "I'll try." I think for a little and finally say, "Can I take your picture? I like pictures of natural disasters."

Everyone laughs their butts off again.

  I text Jade when I get home later that night.

[email protected]: Hey, Jade?

Jade_Don'[email protected]: Yeah?

[email protected]: I may or may not have bribed my brother into letting me say that you're his new girlfriend so that my mom doesn't ask any questions about you

Jade_Don'[email protected]: WHAT?!?

[email protected]: Don't worry, since you're my partner for the project, I don't need that excuse anymore

Jade_Don'[email protected]: Phew

Bri went offline.

Jade went offline.

  I wake up the next morning to see Will staring at me from my door. "What are you doing stalking me, Will?!?" I yell and pull the covers up higher.

  "Have you told mom yet?" He asks calmly.

"Nope," I say.

  "Why not? I let you use me as an excuse."

  "Oh, I don't need your excuse anymore because I can just say that Jade is my partner for a science project."

  "Ugh, just when I thought I could go to the party tomorrow, "Will says and starts to walk away.

  "Wait, what party?" I ask, stopping him in his tracks.

  "The one that this one girl from your school hosts every year at her house."

  "Adelaide?!"

  "I don't know," he says, "but if that's what you think then I guess that's her."

  "Why would you want to go to a high school senior's party?" I ask getting up to make my bed.

"Because it's like the best party of the year!

"Whatever," I say. That's what Jade was talking about on Sunday! Adelaide's end of the year party. The biggest party of the year. Wonder what her plans for that are.
