Brianna's POV

  "I...you...they...UGH!" I say, obviously frustrated. Should I tell him or not? "Can you keep a secret?" I ask.

  "Hmm," Will thinks, "Depends."

  "Oh, come on, William, pleeeease???" I plead pouting my lip and making puppy eyes at him.

  "Ugh, fine," he says finally, "and don't call me William."

  "Whatever... William," I snicker.

  "Oh shut up, now, tell me what's going on," he says waving my phone in front of my face.

  "Ok, here it goes." I tell him everything, from detention, to the orientation, Bailey and everyone else bailing on me, to truth or dare, to pushing Jack in the water of the lake.

"Wow," he says after I finished my rambling. "Bri the Rebel. Nice ring to it, huh?"

"Shut up, you're just like Bailey," I roll my eyes and put my hand out in a demanding way. "Phone," I say, "Now."

"Ok, ok," he says handing it over.

I grab a hold of it as fast as humanly possible and out it in my back pocket. My precious baby. What ever did Will do to you? I'm surprised my mom wasn't suspicious about my black clothing. Guess she thinks it's a teenager phase or something.

After two hours of lazing around my bedroom, my mom had left the house yet again because she had another patient to see, and Will went to one of his friend's house. I heard the door open. I walked downstairs to see who it was. Maybe mom was finished seeing her patient or something.

"Hello? Anyone home?" I hear a voice call. It sounded like a female, but it wasn't my mom, as far as I could tell. I walked into the living room and saw Jade. "Why are you here? How? STALKER!" I say and run away.

"Come back here, Bri!" Jade says from the living room. I walk back and she holds up the emergency house keys we keep under the welcome mat. "You should hide these better," she says and tosses them to me. Me, being the nonathletic person I am, missed catching the keys and they dropped to the floor. I bend down to pick them up and say, "This, never happened..." and then I put them in my pocket.

"Right," she says. "So, if you're wondering why I'm here, I was bored so yeah. Everyone is busy, even Walter, who never has any plans whatsoever."

"Still, that's not a reason to just barge into my house!" I object. "At least text me saying you're crashing my house," I trail of and walk to the kitchen to grab a snack. I take a bag of baby carrots out of the fridge and make a hole in it. I put a carrot in my mouth and realize Jade is staring at me. "What?" I ask, eating more carrots, "You hungry too?" I stick out the bag of carrots in the palm of my hand. "Come on, don't be shy, it's just me at home right now." She walks over and flips the bag out of my hands so it falls on the floor. "Hey! My carrots! I was hungry you know," I say.

"I don't care," she says, "I don't like carrots. I'm still bored so let's go do something."

"Sure," I say while picking up the carrots that fell out of the bag off the floor. "What do you wanna do?" I throw the carrots I picked up away in the trash bin.

"Hmm..." She thinks. What kind of evil plan is she thinking of now? "It's hot out, so let's go to the water park," she suggests. "Come on, it's not that far from here. We can just take my car."

"I don't know if I wanna go, Jade. I mean, it sounds great and all, but it's a weekday and I still have homework to do and- yeah," I say looking down at the ground.

"Oh, not fancying my car? We could take the bus or something too. Take a taxi, call an Uber, anything! Even ride a bike! Actually, never mind about that, too sporty."

I wasn't really a fan of the water. I don't like chlorine in my eyes. But, it was really hot outside, and I guess it would be kind of nice to take a break from school. "Sure," I say, "Did you bring a bathing suit?"

"Psh, of course! I thought of this before I even decided to crash your house." Jade holds out a paper bag and waves it around. "I got all I need in here, bathing suit, extra clothes, a towel, sunscreen, and sandals."

"Well, in that case," I say, "I'll meet you back at my house in about an hour."

"Sure," she says and takes out her car keys. "See you then." She opens the door and walks out.

"Well then," I sigh to myself, "Time to pick out a bathing suit."
