Chapter 14 ~ I Don't Want Your Girl Scout Cookies
Brianna's POV
I woke up the next day especially cranky. I'm usually not like this. It's kinda scary in a way.
I heard a knock on the door. "I'll be right there!" I yell, attempting to get out of bed. Someone knocks on the door again. "I said I'll be right there!" I was now walking down the stairs in my superman pajamas.
I open the door, blinded by the morning light. I saw Shawn standing there. "Listen, I know your thin mints are great and all, but I don't want your Girl Scout cookies. Buh bye now!" I said and closed the door on him. How did he know where I lived? Stalker, much?
I walk back up to my room and pick out an outfit. The usual, mostly black.

"Brianna, do you know the answer to number 35?"
I snap out of my trance. I look up and see Mr. Neil looking down at me. "Uhh," I stutter.
"I said, do you the answer to number 35." He looks at me sternly.
I search through my papers frantically to see if I wrote it down yet. Actually, I haven't even started this worksheet. "I..." I mumble trying to stall some time for me to figure it out in my head."
"Any day now, Ms. Myers."
"3,573," I finally answer.
Shocked, Mr. Neil says, "Correct, Brianna," and he continues lecturing he class on how you should always use a sharp pencil when writing.
Phew, I think to myself, that was a close one. Good thing that Jimmy kid next to me already finished his worksheets.
"Excuse me, Ms. Myers?" Mr Neil says, turning around to look my way. Did I seriously say that out loud? How cliche...
"No, I said nothing, Mr. Neil," I say trying to act innocent.
"I'm certain I heard you say something, Brianna. In that case, detention for you again," he says and turns around. Great, not again.

"Hey," I say to Shawn who's at the desk next to me, "What brings you to these parts of the school?"
"Got on the PE teacher's last nerve," he says. "You?"
"Mr. Neil again," I sigh. "Hey, why were you at my house this morning?"
"Selling Girl Scout cookies with my sister," he says, tapping his pencil on the desk. "She's selling cookies for some fundraiser thing and she needs to go up and down her street. My mom told me to come with her to make sure she doesn't get kidnapped or anything. I live down the street from you, so that's why I came to your house that early in the morning," he explains.
"Wait, seriously?!" I say, "You do know that I was just joking about that this morning, right?"
"Yeah, I know. But, you really had to turn down the thin mints? Those are the best, Bri."
"It was early in the morning and my mind wasn't thinking straight," I object putting my hands up in defense. "Hey, are we even allowed to talk during detention?"
He shrugs and we both look at the teacher supervising us in the front of the room. She has a magazine pressed to her face, making it appear like she's really into an article, but we all know that she's probably sleeping behind it.
"No, but I think we'll be getting caught anytime soon," he says, putting his legs on the table and crossing one leg over the other.
I roll my eyes and take out a book from my backpack to read.
************
After the second worst hour and a half of my life, I walked home and saw my mom's car in the driveway. I frantically took out the house keys and unlocked the front door. I saw Will and my mom talking on the kitchen. "Hey, mom!" I exclaim, dropping my bag on the living room floor and running up to her to give her a bear hug.
"Hi, hon," she replies, returning the hug. "Bri?" she asks.
"Yes, mom?" I say, my voice muffled because I was burying my face in her shirt.
"Why were you so late today?" she says pulling away from our bonding moment.
"Oh, I...I uhh," I stutter. Should I tell her?
"You what?" she asks.
"I had to... Work on a project! Yeah, it's for history. I had to stay at the school library for awhile today. Yup, that's totally why," I lie.
"Oh, ok. Do well on it then." Mom gives me a reassuring smile and walks upstairs, probably to use the bathroom or something.
"So," Will says breaking my train of thoughts, "'Project', huh?"
"Yeah, did you not just here me, like five seconds ago?" I question. I hopes he's not on to something.
"I checked your grades online this morning," he says walking over to the fridge to grab a drink. "Out of six subjects, you have 4 B's. What's up with that?"
What? I missed two homework assignments for each class, but I didn't expect grades to go down that quick! Geez...
"Oh," I say, "That's probably just a mistake. I mean, do you know who you're talking to here? I'm the Brianna Diane Myers. The good girl who always gets A's. You must've read it wrong," I say beginning to walk away.
"You left your phone at home today, Bri," Will says. What now?
"Oh, yeah?" I ask. Please tell me he didn't look in my contacts. Why did I tell him my password when I first got my phone?!?
"Yup," he says starting to smirk a little, "Who's Jade? And Shawn? and Heather, Andrea, Christopher, and Collin?"
"You forgot Katelyn," did I really just say that out loud? Ugh, I need to learn to keep my mouth shut sometimes. She didn't even give me her number yet. What was I thinking?
"Oh, finally owning up are we? Well, I still have your phone," he says holding it up and waving it around like he won a trophy or something. "You tell me what's going on, you get your phone. You deny me, I'll tell mom about your grades."
He's trying to blackmail me now? My own brother, turning on me in a split second. What a brother, Will...
"I...you...they...UGH!"
Hey guys! Really long chapter for ya all. See ya all in the next chapter!
Till then,
