Chapter 12 ~ I Don't Wanna Get Your Ugliness All Over My Hands

  Brianna's POV

When we got to Jack's lake house (refer to picture, but imagine it at night with a bunch of people), I saw a ton of people. "There's a lot of people here, Jade," I say. She looks at her side mirror. "Psh, this is barely anything. Just wait till next week..." she trails off. "What?" I ask. "Nothing, nothing," she says, looking back at the road.

We met everyone in front of the house. "Here's the plan- again," Jade says. "We all go in, act natural. I'm talking to you, Chris."

He puts his hands out in defense, "Hey! At least I took a drama class last summer. I've gotten a lot better, Jade." he says.

"Yeah, sure," she snickers, "ANYWAAAAYS... We go in, Bri goes with Heather to try and find Jake. Everyone else will be at the docks, or whatever, I really don't care. When she does, Heather leaves to find me- I'll be in the kitchen. Afterwards, Bri leads Jack to the docks, and I trail close behind them. When he isn't looking, I push him into the lake. Everyone got it?"

We all nod our heads. It seemed pretty simple, right? "On the count of three. One, two, THREE!" We all run- excuse me, walk- in through the doors.

(Cue music) It's really dark in there, and the music is extremely loud. Good thing this house is in a secluded area.

Heather takes me by the wrist around the house. The first room we checked was the kitchen. People passed out? Check. Drinks spilt on the floor? Check. Jack anywhere in sight? No check...

She dragged me out of the room. After trying about 4 more rooms, we finally found Jack in the living room, the most obvious spot in the house. "Go work your magic, Bri," Heather said, pushing me in his direction.

I walked towards him when I was stopped by a guy. "You know what's on the menu?" He asks me.

"What," I say in a bored tone.

"Me-n-u."

Punny, but he looks drunk so I slapped him in return. I'm getting good at this palm flesh on face flesh thing.

At least that made him go away. I continued to make my way to Jack. I stood in the middle of the room like an idiot thinking of how to approach him. Turns out I didn't have to do anything. "Hey," he said to me, red solo cup in hand.

  "Hey," I replied back."

"I...uh... Nice weather we're having, huh?" What am I doing? I'm supposed to be drenching him in cold water by now, not talking about the latest forecast!! "Follow me," I say. He nods and we walk out of the living room and past the kitchen. Jade sees us walking and trails behind us.

I take him to the very edge of the dock and Jade gets ready to push him in. I have to try and think of a conversation to keep him distracted. "So, nice lake huh?" I ask. That was a stupid conversation starter...

"Well yeah, it's my lake," he replies.

Ugh, that was stupid. "Jade, now!" I yell. Jack turns around just before Jade pushed him into the freezing water. And away he flew!!! I never thought I would live to see the day a person could fly on their own.

Jack surfaced from the water, and all of us were laughing our butts off. "That's what you get mother-!" I cut off Jade yet again. "Trucker. That's what she was going to say. Mother trucker," I tell him. "Right..." Jade mumbles. "Are you stupid?" she asks, "Get out of the water!" Jack was still floating in the water and he came to his instincts. He swam out of the water, outfit drenched. We all started laughing again. "Oh yeah, I'm Brianna by the way," I say to him.

"Bri? That's actually you?" His jaw drops open. "Dang, you look better than before. You used to be so ugly."

"I would slap you right now, but I don't wanna get your ugliness all over my hands," I say back and push him into the water again. Jade high fived me and we all went back to our designated car. Tonight was the best. Too bad there was school tomorrow...
