starry eyes
riiing... riiing...
"ngh, what the hell?"
riiing... rii—
"hello? do you have any idea what time it is, izuku?"
"hi baby, sorry to wake you. can you come to your window?"
a sigh left y/n's lips, hanging up on the phone and tossing the covers off of her body. her feet swung over to the side of her bed, supporting her weight as she lugged herself to the balcony.
opening up the curtains, she looked down over the small railing to the boy standing on the grass below.
their eyes met, his face lighting up with a smile and small wave.
"you wanna go on a walk?"
y/n was used to this, usually more so during the summer and spring since it was warmer at night. izuku always came to her window, sometimes unannounced, asking her if she would go on a walk with him or visit the small lake near their dorms.
her answer was never no, no matter how tired she was after a long day of school and training. how could she turn him down?
"okay, let me just get my shoes."
she heard a sound of electricity and felt the gush of wind from his sudden jump, thinking he just used his quirk to get himself up to her balcony.
"you know you can come through the door."
"isn't this more romantic though?"
y/n slipped on her shoes with a small laugh and turned to her closet to grab a sweatshirt since it was one of the colder summer nights they have experienced.
"no need, i brought you one."
of course.
"thanks izuku," y/n smiled tiredly, rubbing her eyes as she walked over to him and let him slip the hoodie on over her body. now engulfed in warmth, she closed her eyes and let izuku take them to the small walking path they stumbled upon one night.
"yknow maybe you should just walk the whole time and i'll just sleep." y/n smiled, tucking herself into izukus arms before letting out a sound of annoyance when she felt her feet hit the ground.
"or not," she grumbled, pulling the hood over her head and kicking her feet against the pebbles.
his hand reached into her own and squeezed tightly. any sign of annoyance or anger was instantly washed away. maybe that was his true power.
"cmon, it's a super clear night tonight. maybe we'll see some constellations." izuku met y/n's eyes, the smile not leaving his face since he greeted her earlier.
"yeah, okay."
it was a short walk to an opening within the forest surrounding their school, the area lit solely by the moon and shining stars above.
izuku grabbed a blanket out of his backpack, laying it flat on the ground before laying on his back and looking up at the star filled sky.
y/n stood for a moment longer, staring down at the boy with admiration. it seemed like not too long ago she hardly knew his name, but now things had changed so drastically over the year and a half of them being together, she couldn't recall what it was like without nights like this.
she laid herself down next to him, shoulders brushing each other for a moment. after being with him for so long, she still managed to get butterflies.
"hey izuku..."
"yeah? what's up?"
"if im ever not awake, will you still come get me when you come out here? even if you have to drag my sleeping body to whatever new hideout you find?"
there was silence, but y/n felt eyes on her. she turned her head, a shy smile on her face when her eyes met izukus.
"you make it sound like i'm going to murder you."
"stop it." she grumbled, pushing his face the other way and heating up at the sound of his laugh. her hands covered her face out of embarrassment. maybe the request was too straight forward, but she wanted to spend as much time with him as she could even if she had to risk her sleep for it. more so, even if she was asleep the whole time.
izukus warm hands reached her own, the darkness being replaced by his smiling face. his eyes were brighter than the stars themselves, she could look at him like this forever and say proudly she saw the whole galaxy.
"without you, shining stars don't mean a thing to me."
