Chapter 25
A/N:
Omg hello! Hi everyone! I'm finally back after all these years sksksksks I guess the quarantine finally kicked me off my ass to finish this chapter! I'm so sorry for disappearing for two years, but I think life was really beating me down. Even my academic life was too much for me to handle. But on the bright side, I've experienced a lot of new things in the past year alone. I moved to Wales without my family for six months, solo travelled across Europe, lost my phone in Madrid, broke my laptop in Ibiza, and witnessed the Swiss alps with my own two eyes in Weggis and Interlaken, just to name a few. It changed me. I learned so many things!
By the way here's the final chapter, finally! Apart from losing motivation, I took so long to write this because I really couldn't decide what scenes to include and what to exclude since I wanted to keep the fic capped at around 400k words, so I had limited areas to work with. This chapter is around 30k word, which is more than I aimed for at 25k. I tried my best to touch a little bit of everything pre-baby, during the labour, and life with their babies. I tried not to make it too rushed, but there were a lot of time skips. It definitely feels like this isn't the best version of this chapter and that's sad because it's the final one but I'm not in a good mental capacity, so this is the best that I could give right now. I'm sorry.
Also I'm so sorry if I didn't reply to your comments! I read them all but I usually struggle with replying. Thank you, though. I'll try to reply to them all later! ♥️
I hope you enjoy this one and I hope I ended it on a good note and it feels like the right time. Thank you so much for waiting! And thank you for reading, for supporting. It means a lot to me. Happy reading!

Everytime I wake up, it's you,
Darling, it's you.
Everytime I close my eyes, it's you.
Baby, it's you.
- Arden Cho
Louis wakes up on a Sunday morning to the Eiffel Tower as his view when he looks out of the window. He climbs off the bed and grabs his dressing gown, putting it on and looking back at his sleeping Alphas. They don't look like they're going to wake up anytime soon.
The duplex apartment they're staying at for the week is luxurious but cosy. The first floor has a living room, a lounge, a kitchen, and a toilet. The whole second floor is the bedroom with two queen beds with a walk-in closet and an en-suite. It's amazing, and Louis will never cease to get awed by what money can buy.
Shiny marble coated the floor when they first stepped in and the living room was bright from the chandelier hanging off of the ceiling in the middle of the room. Louis was charmed right away. He doesn't know how much his Alphas are paying for the place, but he figured that it couldn't be cheap. The apartment is complete with everything they need.
It was Marcel who suggested they should have one last vacation before the babies come. They decided not to go too far, so Paris was on top of the list.
He walks towards the balcony, shivering a little and wrapping the dressing gown tighter around himself the moment he steps out of the door and into the open air. The sun is hidden by the clouds, but the sky is bright and blue and the city feels alive. The view is breath-taking.
The Omega turns back to the room, staring at how Harry is draped over Edward's chest, both of them still sound asleep. When he glances at Marcel on the other bed, the Alpha is lying with all of his limbs stretched out.
He chuckles to himself, the smile on his face already widening when he feels his babies starting to wake up too. Louis gets a slight urge to pinch himself to be certain that he's not dreaming.
Five years ago, Louis wouldn't have expected that he'd be pregnant, standing on the balcony of a luxury apartment in Paris, staring at the Eiffel Tower while his Alphas sleep in. It's so bizarre.
He inhales the calm, cold air and sighs out in contentment.
Louis goes inside to grab his phone, making sure to be quiet as he heads back outside once he has the device in hand. He takes a few photos of the view and a few of himself with the background of the Eiffel Tower, then cringes when his back is starting to hurt from standing for too long. He sits down on one of the armchairs, sinking into the cushion as he looks over the photos he's taken.
Choosing one selfie and one photo of the view, Louis uploads them on Instagram with the caption; Paris before the little ones arrive.
Within seconds, his notifications are flooded with likes and comments.
It's quite hard to be on social media without the big number of followers that comes with it when you're mated to Harry Styles. Ever since he became active on the platform, his follower count has been increasing day by day. He has to admit that it's amusing how most of them initially followed him in hopes to get glimpses of Harry in their normal, daily life but once he's announced that he's pregnant, he's certain that his followers might be more excited about it than he and his Alphas are.
Whenever he posts a photo with his bump in view, people go crazy in the comments. If he says he's having some trouble getting through a little pregnancy struggle, his inbox would blow up with people giving him tips and advice.
The attention is nice, especially in the days he's bored at home when his Alphas are at work. Apart from Harry's followers that got attached to his account, Louis also managed to find himself in a community of other pregnant people. They share their experiences and struggles and have discussions about them. It's nice to have that kind of support from people who understand what he's going through and are going through it themselves.
"Good morning." He hears a hoarse voice say and looks up to see Marcel standing at the door. His hair is sticking everywhere, and he only has one eye opened. The temperature is low, but Louis knows his Alpha doesn't get cold as easily as he does, so he doesn't question why Marcel is standing on a balcony without even a shirt on. But he can't deny the fact that his Alpha is only wearing a pair of shorts is ridiculous.
"Morning." Louis smiles.
Marcel yawns, walking over to where Louis is sitting. He motions for the Omega to get up, blinking to wake himself up as he sucks in a deep breath. The Alpha takes his seat, then pulls Louis onto his lap. "Why are you up so early?" He asks, voice still deep with sleep. His hand tugs at the dressing gown his Omega is wearing, revealing a little bit of skin on his shoulder and Marcel leans down to press a kiss there.
Louis turns around to drop a kiss on his cheek. "Wanted to appreciate the morning air."
"I had no one to hold in bed." Marcel complains, continuing to press kisses along Louis' skin, pulling the gown more and more until it falls over Louis' shoulder.
"Harry and Edward are sleeping in the next bed." Louis says.
"Hm, wanted to cuddle you." He starts sucking at Louis' throat, licking over the spot to soothe it down before he does it again.
Louis has his phone unlocked again, scrolling down on Instagram. "Hmm?" He voices, not really listening.
Marcel chuckles, dropping the topic and focusing on giving his Omega as much love bites as he can. His hands begin to roam over the Omega's body, running over the curve of Louis' bump.
"They're guessing the babies' names in the comments." Louis tells his Alpha, holding his phone up for Marcel to see.
"Really?" Marcel responds, pausing his kisses. "Did any of them get it right for our girl?"
"Nope." Louis shakes his head. "What about our boy? Is there anyone that guessed his name right?"
Marcel takes the phone from him, scrolling through the comments that are there so far. He scrolls back up and returns the device to his Omega. "One person did."
Louis almost snaps his neck as he turns to look at his Alpha. "Really?"
"Yeah."
He scrolls through them, reading them one by one and trying to guess it himself. "Is it Kyle?"
"No."
Louis frowns to himself. "Dylan?"
"No."
"Kellan? Vincent? Wolf? Philip?" Louis says the names that he sees on the screen.
"No, no, no, and no." Marcel chuckles. "You're not going to guess it, sweetheart. There's too many of them for you to get the right one."
Louis huffs, leaning back against Marcel. He opens the camera application and holds the device in front of them. "Come on."
Marcel brushes his lips against the side of Louis' head as he hears the shutter sound, staying in that position before he presses a kiss on the Omega's cheek, then wrapping his arms around him and squishing their cheeks together. He flashes the camera a big smile, then grabs Louis' chin and claims his mouth.
Louis giggles into it, letting the camera capture the moment before he pulls back. He gives Marcel one last peck before looking at the photos they took. He stops scrolling at the photo where his Alpha is about to kiss him. His chest threatens to burst at the sight of Marcel gazing so lovingly at him in the photo.
"Are you going to post that?" Marcel nods at the screen.
"Yeah." Louis is already changing the application back to Instagram, picking three photos. One is when Marcel is kissing the side of his head, the second one is the moment before they kissed, and the last one shows a photo of them in a sweet lip-lock. He adds a caption that says I love you more and more each day.
"I feel the same." Marcel says into his ear.
Louis turns his screen off, making himself comfortable again in Marcel's embrace. "How do you feel about being a papa soon?"
"I'm excited." Marcel squeezes him briefly. "Can't wait for us to be a big family."
Louis giggles. He shifts until he's sitting sideways on Marcel's lap, putting the phone away before wrapping his arm around the Alpha's neck. "I'm gonna be a mum." He bites on his lip, still in disbelief.
"Yes, you are." Marcel smiles wide, unable to resist pecking Louis on the mouth. "Gonna be the best mum."
Louis nods, pressing their foreheads together. "Sometimes I still can't believe I'm here."
"Why?"
Shrugging, he stares into the green eyes that always take his breath away. "Feels like a dream. Unreal." He jumps when he feels a pinch on his arm. "Ow!" Louis widens his eyes. "You dare pinch your pregnant Omega?"
Marcel chuckles, soothing the sore spot with a gentle caress. "Does that feel real enough to you?"
"Big meanie." He pouts.
"I'm sorry, darling." Marcel brings the arm up so he could drop a kiss to the spot he pinched. "There, all better."
Louis grins.
---
Louis is speechless as they walk out of the lift. He's not paying much attention to where he's walking, letting his Alpha guide him. He's holding on tightly to Edward's hand, following where he's led as they head to their table. It's magical, staring at Paris from the rooftop restaurant. The Eiffel Tower is not far, the bright, scattered light decorating the landmark forming such a lovely sight.
"This is amazing." Louis whispers, turning back to his Alphas in disbelief. "Wow."
Harry beams, happy that his Omega is happy. "Take a seat, Lou." He's already pulled out a chair, pecking Louis' cheek before he offers an arm for Louis to hold on to while the Omega lowers himself onto the chair.
The Alphas settle down in their seats, and it's a comfortable silence while they study their menu.
Once their waitress walks away with their order, conversation easily starts up and flows around the table.
Marcel tells them about how things are going with him at the office. He's joined Edward to help the team, wanting to ease things up. They're currently laying out the structure and vision of the company when Edward is going to take a two-month break to settle down once the babies come.
"When I tell you he's a great boss, there's not a single doubt in my head about that statement." Marcel gives his brother a proud look. "Everyone loves him at the office. They're actually gutted that Edward won't be around for a while, but we have faith in our COO. Plus, Edward would still be checking in with them from home, so we're not entirely letting go of the whole thing. But putting work aside, I can tell that they genuinely care about you, Edward."
"You didn't have to tell them about that." Edward says. There's a smirk on his face, but all of them can see the light tinge of embarrassment on his cheeks.
"Of course he does." Harry says, eyes wide. "You're not just a boss. You're a great leader, Edward."
"I still have a lot of rooms for improvements." Edward shakes his head. He's unable to stop smiling at the compliment.
"And you'll be a better one then, but you're already a great one to begin with." Marcel says.
Louis almost can't see from how wide his lips are stretched across of his face. He's so proud of his Alpha. "You're getting there too, Harry."
The mentioned Alpha blushes. "I have a great role model." He murmurs, shooting a grateful look at his brother. "And people that never forget to support me." Harry turns to give him and Marcel a fond look.
"I'm so proud of all of you." Louis breathes out. "My great Alphas."
"Thank you, Princess." Edward leans over to peck his cheek.
"I have something to tell you." Marcel suddenly says. He's cut off by their drinks arriving, and only once they're left alone again that he speaks up. "I might be joining Edward for good with the company once we get back after our leave."
"Baby, that's great!" Louis tells him, his shocked face lighting up. "But what about your writing?"
Marcel gives a nonchalant shrug. "I'd still continue, obviously. But I don't think I'd want it as my main career anymore. Figured I'd go on this path for now. Do something different."
"Well, you know we'd support you, regardless of what you choose to do." Edward regards him with a tilt of his head. "I'm proud of you."
"Thank you." Marcel's face softens.
Louis winces, rubbing his chest and taking a deep breath. "Babies are proud of Papa Marcel too." He chuckles, a little out of breath.
"Settle down, peanuts." Edward says once he's reached out and pressed a big palm on Louis' big stomach.
They're still moving around inside him, some of the jabs strong enough to make him wince again. "I can't wait to have them come out. I think most of my organs are bruised at this point."
"They'd be so cute." Harry says dreamily. "Could you imagine? Little ones running around."
Louis leans back in his seat. "If they're running around, the one doing the chasing better be you."
"You're really that exhausted." Edward murmurs, reaching out for his hand and lifting it up so he could drop a kiss on the delicate skin. "I'm sorry that our babies give you such a hard time."
"You're right." Louis sighs heavily. "David Beckham's babies probably won't do this to me."
"Oi." Marcel laughs in disbelief. "Even now that you're carrying our children?"
"What are you gonna do? Call the police?" Louis points his tongue out in an act of pure maturity.
Marcel, equally as matured, pokes him on the side in retaliation.
---
Louis thinks his heart grows every time he walks into the nursery. It's a slow progress since the Alphas can only work on it on the weekends, but they have time before the babies arrive.
It's Sunday, barely after lunch, and when Louis can't find any of his Alphas anywhere, he knows that they've continued working on the nursery again. He stops at the threshold when he arrives, leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed as he takes a moment to appreciate what's been completed so far.
As agreed, the walls are covered in light, pastel yellow. Louis thinks they're more cream, but the name isn't important as much as the way it makes the room look is. The cots are already assembled, pushed against the right wall side by side. The colour of the cots complements the walls, and Louis can't hide how pleased he is that his Alphas are working so hard on the room. Every little detail was paid attention to, ensuring the nursery looks as good as it could get. He particularly loves the crowns they've embedded on the wall on top of the cots. It's something Harry saw on the internet once and wanted it for their nursery. Louis agreed to the idea right away.
Personally, he thinks the chandelier is going a tad too far, but Marcel wanted it. Since it's small and it only adds to the charm, Louis didn't disagree.
It's quite spacious, considering the room was originally big. Thankfully, the dark, carpeted floor helps to give the illusion that the nursery is smaller, so it won't look too empty. They've also bought two armchairs that they've placed at the corner to fill more space of the room, facing the cots. A sofa is placed perpendicular to the armchairs and cots, an area they could all sit in. A nursing chair was also included so Louis could feed more comfortably, a frame made of dark wood with beige cushion.
Louis was the one who chose the dresser that they have put on the opposite wall, and he's quite proud of himself with the result. It fits with the theme, and it's beautiful.
They still have a lot of things to install, like the shelves, a cabinet to hold the pushchairs, and a changing counter. They also need another piece of furniture to hold the rest of the baby stuff. The dresser has been preserved solely for clothes since Louis tends to lose track of things when he shops for their babies. He's forgotten how many times he's gone online shopping only to have Edward scold him because he's buying too much.
"Lou?" His Alpha's voice snaps him out of his daydream, and Louis focuses back on where he is to see all of them staring at him, surprised but pleased by his presence. Harry is depositing the folded baby clothes into the bottom drawer of the dresser, body turned to look at him but he's still holding a stack of garments in his hands. Marcel and Edward were working on the shelf that they were going to install on the wall, but that's halted now.
Louis can't even recall who it was that said his name. "Hey." He says instead. "Was just checking the progress."
"Got bored?" Harry asks, turning his attention back to the task at hand.
"A bit." Louis steps further into the room, watching as Edward and Marcel continue to install the shelf. "Is there anything I could help with?"
Marcel chuckles. "Not really. We're almost done for the day."
Louis brightens at that. "You are?"
"Yeah. Figured we've been giving too much attention to the nursery, and not to you." Edward shoots him a smile before his gaze goes back to the shelf.
The Omega hums in agreement. "Wise decision. Might start sulking if I'm not cuddled soon."
"Let's go out on a date tonight. We'll spoil you as you want." Marcel suggests without looking up.
Louis hears the drawer shut before Harry is draping an arm around his shoulder. "Want to cuddle now?" The Alpha asks.
"Yes, please." Louis giggles when Harry scoops him up in his arms before taking a seat at one of the armchairs, settling the Omega on his lap. "Harry." Louis complains, his nose wrinkling. "I'm crushing you. Let me down."
The Alpha sputters at that.
"Baby, you barely weighed anything before." Edward says, clearly holding back his laughter. "Still light as a feather now."
"Is that so?" Louis huffs, crossing his arms but he's not squirming anymore.
"Could hold you up for hours." Harry tells him.
Louis settles down at that, leaning back into Harry. He grabs his Alpha's arms, wrapping them around himself with Harry's palms resting over his bump. "The nursery's lovely." It's a statement he makes as he scans the room again, taking it in from another angle.
"It's almost done." Harry announces, filled with pride. "I think we'll be done by the next two weeks. We just need to wait for the rest of the furniture to arrive and set them up."
"We've washed everything right?" Marcel glances to the dresser.
Edward hums. "Yeah. Louis made sure the Betas washed everything before we stored them."
"Good."
Louis gently peels Harry's arms off him so he could go to the cots, running his fingers over the strong wood. "I can't wait." He sighs, cradling his belly. "We're going to do our babies right this time."
"I think we already are."
Louis' smile is a little sad, but he nods.
---
When his Alphas tell him about wanting to sell some of their cars, Louis stares at them unblinking for a moment. "Uh... why?" He asks, confused.
They're in the dining room for dinner, and Louis hasn't really been paying attention to the conversation. He was really invested in his mashed potatoes. While his Alphas were talking, Louis was focused on shoving more and more mash into his mouth.
But when Marcel directly addressed him and told him that they're selling their cars soon, Louis had no choice but to take part in the conversation. He just wants to eat his mash, seriously.
Edward raises his eyebrow. "Lou, we've been discussing all this time. Weren't you listening?"
Louis shrugs, eating more of the mash and giving them an innocent look. "I was too busy feeding our babies."
"They really like the mash, don't they? It's good." Harry humours him, making him light up.
Marcel chuckles. "Anyway, we just realised that we have too many cars."
"No shit, Sherlock." Louis drawls, giving his Alphas a look while he licks his spoon clean.
Edward grins at his reaction, but he doesn't say anything.
"We obviously don't need that many cars." Marcel pauses when Louis glares at him. "I know, I know. That's why we decided to sell some of them."
"And we need to buy a new, bigger car." Edward leans forward, resting his clasped hands on the table. "We were thinking of a six-seater or a seven-seater. What do you think of an MPV, Lou?"
"I mean, most of our cars are two seaters. That's not exactly ideal when we're starting a family." Harry adds his thoughts.
Louis doesn't spare them a glance, occupied with the mountain of mash he's building on his plate. The subtle way his eyebrows are knitted together means he's in deep thoughts, even if he seems like he's ignoring them. The triplets stay quiet, patient to wait for his opinion.
"We should really let go of the Hyundai." Harry says when the minutes drag on and Louis' face has gone slack. The Omega has returned to his mission of cleaning his plate of the mash again. Clearly, he's forgotten about the matter at hand.
"Should've done that earlier." Marcel sighs, willing to ignore the fact that Louis hasn't contributed to the discussion. "We don't use it at all."
Edward looks at their Omega. "Lou, how many cars do you think we should keep?"
Louis frowns, upset that they're disturbing him again. They were supposed to talk, and he was just supposed to listen. "Seven." He supplies regardless. "But that's already pushing it."
Marcel starts to sweat. "Seven." He repeats, clearing his throat. The thought of getting rid of so many cars he loves to get to that number bothers him a little.
"We can do it." Edward attempts to be nonchalant, but the weird grimace on his face betrays his tone.
"It's just what I think. At the end of the day, it's your decision." Louis tells them, aware of their passion in cars, especially Marcel. "There's nothing wrong if you want to keep them. But I just don't think you need that many cars."
"You're right." Marcel sighs. "I'll have to sleep over it." He turns to his brothers. "I guess we choose two cars each? The other one should be Louis' car. We can't get rid of that."
The Omega nods. "You can pry my car from my cold, dead hands."
"Well.." Edward frowns to himself. "We need to start thinking about an agent for the resale too."
Louis tilts his head. "Could we save that until later, though? Let's just eat right now."
Harry chuckles. "Of course we can."
"Yes, our apologies, baby. You can continue eating." Edward turns his face to the side, hiding his smile.
None of them points out that they're all done eating and are just waiting for him to finish.
---
Harry grumbles as he digs into his drawer. It's a pointless attempt to look for a jumper in his drawer of joggers but he's not willing to discard the possibility of misplacing other things if it means it brings him closer to finding it. When he's achieved nothing but messing up the neat arrangement of his garments, the Alpha grunts in frustration and slams the drawer close. Harry watches as it slows down before gently closing shut, not making a single sound. It just adds up to his frustration.
Muttering under his breath as he exits the closet, he almost bumps into Marcel.
His brother is smiling, and the corner of his mouth ticks even further up when he sees the look on Harry's face. "What's got your knickers in a twist now?" Marcel teases, gripping his forearm.
"I can't find my favourite jumper." Harry lets his head fall forward until his forehead knocks onto Marcel's shoulder, slumping into his brother's embrace. "Been looking everywhere."
The chuckle that Marcel lets out makes him snap his head up. "Harry, how do you forget every single time? You know who to find when you lose a jumper."
Harry frowns to himself while Marcel watches him in silence, waiting for him to get it. Then he groans. "Louis." He huffs in exasperation.
"He's in the lounge below." Marcel snorts as he releases him, stepping to the side so Harry could pass through.
"Thanks." Harry sighs, though the tensed lines on his face disappear when Marcel drops a kiss to his temple. Feeling slightly better than he was, he sets out on his journey to get his jumper back. His footsteps are determined, so sure of himself. He finds his Omega where Marcel said he will.
Louis is seated in between Edward's legs, the Alpha reading while Louis is cackling at the TV. There is a bowl of grapes on his chest, lodged in place by the swollen belly. He is, indeed, wearing the jumper that Harry has been looking for in the past hour. Despite so, Harry finds he doesn't mind as much anymore.
"You're wearing my favourite jumper again." He says as he pads into the lounge and drops down beside Edward, leaning into his brother's side. He pecks Edward's cheek before pressing his lips to Louis' hair.
Louis falls silent, throwing a brief glance his way before his eyes advert downwards. "Are you mad?"
"Of course not." Harry kisses the top of his head again. "Was just looking for it."
"Your jumper is bigger. Hides my belly better." Louis mumbles, twisting to the side and pushing himself up with a hand on Edward's chest, putting the bowl away as he does so. He shifts until he's facing them, but he won't meet their gazes.
Edward shuts the book, catching their attention. He's frowning as he shares a look with Harry.
"What do you mean it hides your belly better? Why would you want to hide it?" Harry asks the question that is surely playing in Edward's mind too.
The Omega shrugs. "Some days I just don't feel like seeing how big I am when I pass by the mirror."
The Alphas gape for a moment, but they stay silent. Louis watches them quietly as they take some time to process things, wanting to tackle the situation as best as they can.
"Just some days?"
Louis nods to Edward, rubbing his belly. "And I personally don't like it when I see the stretch marks. But I know there's nothing I can do about that." He shrugs again.
"Does it bother you?" Harry pokes his belly, referring to his stretch marks. Now that he recalls it, they rarely get to see him bare anymore. It's only during sex that Louis would be naked, but even that doesn't happen as often.
"Yeah. But I'm trying to embrace it." Louis offers them a small smile, honest.
Edward clears his throat. "Can we see it?"
Louis shoots him a look, then blinks at Harry. When Harry nods too, he frowns. "Why?"
"So we could try and understand." Covering the bump with his hand, Edward smiles. "We could tell you what we think about it, if you want us to. Just another perspective."
"Okay." He shifts again on the sofa until he's leaning back against the armrest.
Edward makes a disapproving sound, already grabbing a small cushion and depositing it below Louis' hips. "Here."
"Thanks." Louis beams at him. Once he's comfortable, Louis pulls the jumper up until his whole belly is exposed. He shuts his eyes as he lets the Alphas drink in the sight of him. He's looked at himself too many times already, studied the way bright red streaks run over the bottom curve of his middle. It's not as prominent now, but with his due date approaching closer and closer, Louis knows that his babies still need to grow and soon enough there would be more marks stretching across his skin. He's never had those before, so Louis can't really decide how he felt about them the first time he saw them.
Some days he hates the sight, wondering why his belly isn't smooth. But when he thinks about it again, that just sounds absurd. He's being stretched almost to his limit, it would be nonsense to expect that his skin wouldn't show the struggle of providing space to two babies inside him. There's nothing wrong with having proof of that.
There are just days he falls victim to the unpleasant side of his own thoughts, and that's okay, because it's a constant battle for now. He knows he'll get over it soon.
"I just think it's a part of this journey, and it's a part of you." Harry murmurs, running his fingers over the raised streaks.
"Yeah." Edward nods after a while, his thumb brushing small circles on Louis' skin where he's got his hand cupping one side of the bump. His eyes are a bit unfocused as he stares, still taking the sight in. "You're beautiful."
Louis knows his Alpha, though, and as much as disbelief as he's in, he can't help but chuckle when he sees the Alpha gulping. "Edward, are you getting hard?"
The Alpha in question drives a palm into his crotch, clearing his throat. "You know what you do to me, Lou. You're carrying my babies. Just the thought of it drives me crazy." He protests, eyebrows furrowing as he meets Louis' eyes. "Looking at your belly could make me go mad, honestly."
"I think that answers the question of what we think about it." Harry bursts out laughing. "Besides, I don't really think anything can change how you affect us."
Louis shakes his head to himself, pushing the jumper down so he's covered up again. He would think that he's imagining the disappointed look on Edward's face, but who is he kidding. "Would you want to rub lotion on my belly?" He offers instead.
"Yes." Edward is already on his feet, disappearing to grab said lotion.
"You do notice that he's still hard, yes?" Harry helps him to sit up again, grinning from ear to ear. "And I know if any of us get worked up, you do too."
Louis smiles, stealing a kiss. "Hmm, I know you want in too, Mr Styles."
"Who am I if I didn't?" Harry mumbles against his lips.
Harry almost chokes when he laughs upon Edward's return, a bottle of lotion in one hand, and a bottle of lube in the other one.
---
Louis stares at the photos Marcel has compiled on the screen on his phone, scrolling down and mentally taking note of features that stand out to him. His lips curl in distaste whenever he sees something he doesn't like, but he doesn't say anything just yet.
"What do you think?" Marcel asks, a nervous tick to his voice as he studies the Omega's face to gauge his reaction.
Louis puts the phone down and pushes it back towards Marcel before shaking his head. "I don't like it."
Marcel gives him an apprehensive look. "Which one? We can exclude it from the list."
"I don't like any of them." Louis replies, blinking back with an air of nonchalance.
Edward clears his throat, leaning forward to grab the phone and look through the list himself. Just making sure they showed Louis the right list. "Uh... none of them? At all?"
Louis pauses, but barely a second later he's shaking his head again. "None." He confirms.
Harry blows air through his mouth, letting it rumble his lips. "Well... those are the shortlisted MPVs. What do you think you'd like, then?"
"I don't think we have much choice with a seven-seater." Marcel frowns.
Louis leans back in his chair, his belly peeking out from below the table. The sight softens his Alphas. He rubs a hand down his bump, giving the triplets a look. "I'm sure you'll work something out."
They hold his gaze, unblinking as they stare at him with an air of disbelief.
Then Edward straightens, his shoulders squaring while he looks at Marcel, then Harry. "We haven't looked at any SUV."
"Right." Marcel looks as if he wanted to smack his own forehead.
Louis hums. "Are the SUVs prettier?"
"They are." Harry nods. "We just need to find the right one."
"Okay." Louis replies. "Can someone rub my feet now?"
The pout he has on his face makes his Alphas disregard any hesitation, not that they would have any in the first place. They're all wrapped around his little finger and he knows it. Everyone knows it.
"Marcel can look at the cars. Edward and I will rub your feet." Harry says quickly.
"Fine." Marcel huffs, grabbing the phone while Edward and Harry help Louis to his feet. He grumbles under his breath while he follows them out.
---
"I want this one." Louis says, claws digging into Edward's arm.
The Alpha is unimpressed. "You said the rear is ugly."
"All of them have ugly rears!" He cries out, a little too dramatically.
The four of them have been trying to decide on a seven-seater SUV to buy. Hours of research left them with the top three cars that they're going to look at before making a verdict. The first one was a Mercedes; which Louis absolutely puts no effort to hide his distaste towards the car's "everything" as he had pointed out when they asked him. Then they checked out the BMW, which Louis favoured especially after going for the test drive. He also specifically expressed his interest towards the seats. By the time they're on the way to look at the Audi, Louis was certain of his decision on the BMW that he decided the Audi was not worth the time to see because he knows it won't sway his stance. They had to turn back.
And now the Omega is hell-bent on making his Alpha buy the BMW.
"This one has a pretty dashboard, and the driving's smooth, and I like it enough to ignore the ugly back." Louis pouts. "The seats are going to look so nice, and we can customise it to be a six-seater. Could you imagine the amount of space we'd have?"
"He makes some good points." Says Marcel, and Harry makes a sound of agreement.
Edward hums, staring down at the car booklet he's holding in his hands. "Let's sleep over it and decide tomorrow."
"For what? All of you have already agreed to the three on the list so that means my choice is the deciding factor." Louis releases the Alpha to cross his arms. "And I choose this one and this one alone."
The Alpha sighs, but he gives Louis a smile. "Okay, baby. We'll take it."
Louis' smile lights up the whole building.
---
Louis tries to cherish every single second that he goes through of being pregnant with the twins, knowing that he would never be able to experience it the same way even when he gets pregnant again in the future. He still goes to the gym, doing as much as he can with Marie in his assistance. He goes out with his Alphas to buy more baby stuff, cooing at all the cute things that he sees and pouting whenever they deny him what he wants. They usually make compelling arguments whenever they point out that some of the things he asks for would not be needed until their babies are much much bigger, but Louis could still pout about that. Pregnancy definitely gives him the privilege.
Despite his best effort to enjoy all of it, it feels like barely days have passed and then suddenly he's on one of his last visits to see Patricia.
With only a few weeks left, they get right to packing hospital bag once they come back from the appointment. Once full and zipped up, the duffel bag are placed in the closet. It's on the floor so they could grab it easily. That also means that Louis easily sees it every time he's in there, and every single time he'd shiver in excitement.
He's counting the days now.
---
Three weeks later, his excitement about being a mother falters a little when he realises he's having contractions, then it amps up until he's certain he's about to burst with all the different emotions.
Of course it has to happen when none of his Alphas is home. Usually he'd have one of them with him, but all three of them have something to attend to in their last attempt to wrap things up before leaving their work behind for two whole months. The previous days felt normal enough, so Louis didn't think twice about being left alone for the day. Look how well that's going for him.
"Fuck." He grunts when another contraction comes. His hands scramble with his phone to time it. Stay calm. Breathe.
That is definitely easier to remember when he's not in the situation.
It's been going on for hours but they're still not close enough for him to call his Alphas. It's not even bad yet; he's mostly uncomfortable with some hints of pain. Just the thought that it would get worse makes him cringe.
He relaxes on the bed when the contraction passes, pressing the button on his phone again.
He sighs, mentally getting ready for the ride.
---
Louis is clenching the bed sheet through the fourth consecutive contraction, panting once it's over. They're around twenty minutes apart now, lasting less than a minute but dear God it feels longer. His voice is a bit shaky when he tells his phone to dial Marcel's number.
"Hey, Lou." Marcel sounds distracted as he greets him, and Louis prays that he's not too busy.
The Alpha had left early this morning, apparently going for a meeting and an event out of town. Louis doesn't know how long it would take for Marcel to be home, but he hopes the Alpha could make it. He feels a little relaxed at his Alpha's voice, and suddenly he wants nothing but his Alphas by his side. "Um, Marcel." He says, clearing his throat.
"Lou... Are you okay?"
"Not really?" He scratches his head. "Maybe you should come home."
"Louis..." Marcel drags out his name, sounding a little nervous. "Are you, ar-are you in labour?"
The Omega takes a deep breath. "I think so. Come home, please?"
"I'll, I'll be home soon, baby." Marcel tells him, trying to sound calm but Louis knows better.
"Marcel.." Louis calls out, gentle and reassuring. "It's fine. Just come home, yeah?"
"Yeah." Marcel lets out a long sigh, and Louis can hear how the tension leaves his voice. "There's no need to freak out."
"Not yet, anyway." Louis says, but they both know that he's not entirely calm about this either. "I'll see you soon."
"See you." Marcel breathes, and then the call cuts off.
Talking to his Alpha has lifted his mood a little, so he hums to himself as he dials Harry's number next. His hand is splayed over his belly, caressing it since it's one of his last chances to do it.
"Hey, Lou!" His Alpha's chipper voice calls out the moment the call is connected.
Louis takes a moment to rearrange himself on the bed so he'd be more comfortable. "Hi, are you busy?"
Harry makes a negative sound. "Nope, just got out of a meeting."
"Right, right. Do you have anything urgent to do for the rest of today?" He really hopes not. That would suck for Harry and his staff if he has to abandon everything.
Harry chuckles. "Lucky for you, no. Are you bored? I can be home in an hour." The knowing tone makes Louis roll his eyes, but Harry has first-hand experience with how Louis gets when he's bored, so he doesn't really have a place to stand.
"Um, yeah. Maybe you should come home?"
The Alpha pauses. "Lou? Is everything okay?"
"IthinkI'vebeenhavingcontractions." Louis squeaks out, picking at the bed sheet.
There's some shuffling on Harry's end, and then a door shuts. It's quieter now. The Alpha is most likely in his office. "Sorry, Lou. Could you say that again? I didn't catch you the first time."
Sighing, Louis repeats himself. "I've been having contractions. I think I'm in labour."
"What?!" Something falls at the other side. "Fuck, shit, fuck." Harry grunts, and then more things fall and the Alpha makes another frustrated sound. Louis chuckles to himself. There is a rustle before Louis can hear Harry take a deep breath against the phone. "Are you sure?"
"I think so." Louis blinks to himself. It feels so surreal now. "I'm not positive, but I need you home."
Louis hears another rustle, and a thud. "Right, fuck, home. Right." Harry drops something else, and he curses again. "Home, soon."
Louis giggles. "Hey, it's gonna be okay."
He can just imagine how Harry stills, his breath cutting off before he inhales deeply. "Right. Yeah, yeah, it will. I'll be on my way."
"Drive safe. I'll see you."
Still smiling to himself as the call ends, Louis moves on to call Edward. The smile falls when it rings for too long before going to voicemail.
Frowning to himself, Louis calls him again. It's making him annoyed when it goes to voicemail again. Where could he be? It's rare that he doesn't answer his phone.
Third time's the charm. Edward picks up on the first ring.
"Lou? Sorry, I was in the loo. What's wrong?" The Alpha sounds anxious. Tension dissipates from Louis' shoulders at his voice.
"Edward, I'm in labour."
There is a gasp, and then the line goes dead. He's about to redial but in the end all thoughts of his Alpha flies away when he's hit with another contraction. Louis sits up, hoping it would help, but the cramping intensifies. He grunts, placing a hand on the bed and leaning into it while his other one rubs down his belly.
Melting into the mattress once his body isn't locked up with tension again, Louis finds himself tired enough that he's falling asleep only minutes later.
He doesn't know how long he's out for, but another contraction gets so bad that it wakes him up. Yelling at his phone to time it, Louis sits up on the bed and leans forward until he's on all four so he feels more comfortable to endure this one.
All of a sudden the door is thrown open and a dishevelled, worried Edward appears. "Lou!" He lets it swing close as he rushes to Louis' side, tossing his bag and climbing on the bed.
The Omega is beyond confused, wondering how Edward got home so fast, but the pain overwhelms him that his eyes fall shut and he could only grunt to himself. He feels Edward sitting beside him, worried but not knowing how to help him. In the end the Alpha grabs his hand.
Louis holds on to it until he's able to relax again. He lets out a long, heavy breath as he presses stop on his phone. Then he squeezes Edward's hand. "Cuddle, please."
Edward obliges, repositioning both of them so Louis could lean back into his chest and he can wrap his Omega up in his embrace. "Alright?"
"Yeah." Louis nods, turning his face and puckering his lips. Edward smiles, pecking him with a greeting kiss. "How'd you get home so fast?"
Guilt flashes on the Alpha's face. "Well... I was driving like a mad man...." He kisses Louis again when the Omega fixes him with an unimpressed glare. "Then I got stopped by an officer." Edward chuckles at Louis' horrified sound. "I didn't get fined." He reassures with another kiss, rubbing the Omega's arm. "He recognised me, for some reasons. And when I told him that my Omega is in labour, he offered to escort me."
Louis rolls his eyes, digging his elbow into the Alpha's ribs. "Of course he would."
"He gave me his number if we'd need another escort to the hospital."
"Of course he did."
---
It's four hours later, and Louis' contractions have been coming every seven minutes. The pain has doubled with each one, and the Omega is starting to get more and more irritated with everything. He's been refusing any physical contact with his Alphas, snapping whenever they do something that makes him angry, like breathe too hard.
Harry arrived home shortly after Edward did, Marcel an hour after that because of the traffic, and all three of them have been amazing so far with how much they're trying. They stuck by Louis' side and held his hand whenever he pouted and reached for them, but they're restless with their need to touch and comfort him, so Louis still has to keep reminding them to keep their hands to themselves.
They had the Betas bring some food to their room so Louis could grab some bites whenever he could eat but still suffer through his contractions in comfort. As the contractions became closer and stronger, Louis' patience grew thinner. At least the food gave him energy to get through it.
"I said don't touch!" Louis barks as he slaps Edward's hand away when the Alpha tries to pet his head. He knows Edward just wants to comfort him, but he's in pain and uncomfortable and any unwanted contact just makes him want to pull out his hair.
The Alpha retracts his hand. "Sorry."
Louis sags where he's knelt beside the bed, forehead pressed onto his arm on the mattress. The position doesn't really do much, but it makes the contraction more bearable. He shifts to sit with his back against the bed, his knees hurting.
"Are they still seven minutes apart?" Louis pants out to Marcel, the Alpha who's been holding his phone to help time them.
"Yeah."
Louis groans.
"Do you want to put on music or something?" Harry offers, hoping it would calm the Omega down a bit.
He thinks about it for a moment, then nods. "Yeah." Louis finally feels his facial muscles relax, free from the hostage of tension. He's been wearing a grimace for the past hour.
It's not long before soft, piano music begins to play from the speakers.
The music helps calm Louis down, but it doesn't take away the pain that comes with his next contraction. "Fuck." He complains as he moves onto his knees again, hands gripping the edge of the bed. "Fucking hell."
They know not to touch him again this time, instead helplessly watching as Louis breathes through it.
"Are you okay, Lou?" Marcel dares himself to ask.
"Fine." Louis grumbles, not bothering to move from that position.
He can feel their worried, sympathetic gazes like a burn on the back of his head. It's annoying. Normally he'd appreciate their concern, but Louis thinks he can be excused for being irritated with everything when he's in so much pain.
"Stop staring at me." He grits out.
"Sorry." All of them say, embarrassed as they go back to whatever they were doing. Harry stares down at his phone, Marcel pretending to look back at the record of contractions Louis had while Edward just pokes down at the pillow in front of him.
The next one comes much faster, and Louis whimpers as his body goes taut to withstand the pain. He's panting by the time it's gone.
"You should drink more, Lou. To stay hydrated." Harry says, holding out a water bottle they keep in the room.
"Fuck off." Louis mutters, but he looks up and accepts it anyway. He passes the bottle to Edward once he's done, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
Louis' knees shake a little from prolonged use as he grows to his feet, pressing his palm at his lower back. Then he crumbles on the bed, eyes tearing up. "Hold me, please." He juts his lower lip out, feeling it tremble.
Marcel doesn't waste any time pulling him in until Louis' face is buried against his chest. He has a tight grip on his Omega, and he knows that as long as Louis isn't complaining, he should hold him as tight and as long as he can before the next contraction comes and Louis will be pushing him away.
Louis does nudge him back not long after, climbing off the bed to pace in the room.
"Is there anything we can do, baby?" Marcel asks.
"Just shut up." Louis grunts, taking slow and steady steps as he walks a small circle in the room.
He stops a moment later, and immediately Edward is standing in front of him. Louis knows he's been mean to his Alpha, but he's grateful that Edward knows when he needs help. He feels bad now.
The Omega grabs his arm, using it for support when the pain makes him bend forward to bear it better. "Ow, ow. Fuck." Louis gasps, his nails digging into his Alpha's skin. Edward barely notices it, too focused on how his Omega is doing. The pressure he has around Edward's arm loosens not long after, but Louis stays like that.
Stiffing up when the next contraction hits, helooks up at Edward with tear stained eyes. "Hurts so much, Alpha." He pleads, as if Edward had the power to control the pain the Omega is going through.
"Baby." Edward pulls him into a hug, kissing his head. "I'm so sorry. Just breathe, okay?"
Louis nods, letting Edward's hold ground him. They stay like that, swaying a little as Edward rubs a comforting hand on his back until it ends.
He shifts a bit, pressing his face into Edward's shoulder and curling his arms around the Alpha. "Wow, this is so fucking annoying." He murmurs, peeking up at the top of Edward's shoulder to see the rest of his Alphas staring at him.
"I'm sorry, Lou. Just tell us if we can do anything to help you, and we'll do it." Marcel offers with a kind, wary smile. Louis feels bad for putting that look on his face.
He shakes his head, giving them a weak smile. He feels so tired. "You're doing a great job."
"Are you sure?" Edward teases. "I swear Harry was about to cry when you told him to fuck off."
"I was not!"
The Omega chuckles, pulling back from Edward to kiss him on the lips. Then he walks back towards the bed. "Sorry for telling you to fuck off." He says as he climbs on the bed and into Harry's arms. The Alpha hides his face in Louis' hair, holding him tight.
"You do it on a daily basis anyway." Harry says, voice filled with mirth.
All of them chuckle at that, but Louis sighs. "I'm sorry I yelled."
"It's fine." Marcel reaches for his hand. "You're in pain, we get that."
"So much pain." Louis confirms, eyes shutting even at the thought of it. "I don't know how people would want to do this multiple times."
Edward clears his throat and walks back to the bed. "They have medications to help you with the pain, right?"
"The epidural. Patricia's mentioned that." Marcel nods, recalling what they've been told during the appointment.
Louis gives his Alphas a wide-eyed look. "I don't want to take the epidural."
"But you're hurting." Harry says.
"I know, but I don't want people shoving things down my spine." Louis snaps.
"Alright, alright." Marcel brushes his thumb in a small circle. "But if you decide you'd want it later, don't hesitate, okay?"
"Okay." Louis leans forward to kiss him.
The Omega presses his face into Harry's neck when he gets his next one. He clutches onto his Alpha, losing all of his senses as the pain reaches a new level that renders him speechless.
When he comes to again, he's being passed into Edward's arms. He hears Harry talking to Patricia on the phone, and upon hearing a thud, Louis turns to see that Marcel has brought the hospital bags out.
"We can go." Harry tells them the moment he gets off the phone.
"Let's move." Edward orders, climbing off the bed with Louis still in his arms.
"Wait for me in the car." Harry disappears into the wardrobe before any of them can ask for an explanation.
Marcel and Edward rush with Louis to the lift, heading straight to the garage. They're taking Louis' car for the trip to the hospital, and Louis' conscience almost makes him worry about the trip back home because the car seats are installed in their new BMW. However, Louis knows his Alphas would get that settled with.
Marcel sits with him in the back while they wait for Harry. Edward is behind the wheel, calling up the officer he met this noon for the promised escort.
Harry appears soon enough, dumping another overnight bag into the empty seat beside Louis before the Alpha climbs in next to Edward.
The car goes into motion, and Louis presses his face into Marcel's neck while he tries to survive the drive.
He feels weird, and it's only after ten minutes on the road that Louis notices that his bottom is drenched. "My water fucking broke." He moans into the car.
Edward floors the pedal just as they hear the sirens.
---
Louis has been admitted into a ward. It's a luxury suite that comes with a lounge, a fridge, and a double bed. The lounge has comfortable sofas and a TV while the room holds the hospital bed, a double bed, an armchair, and another sofa pushed against the opposite wall. If Louis wasn't struggling to stay sane, he'd appreciate the room more.
As it is, he's stuck in a cycle of staying hydrated, going to the bathroom, yelling at his Alphas, and getting through the pain.
He's taken to the delivery room not long after.
When he first arrived, he was introduced to his medical team but Louis was hurting so much that he didn't even hear the people's names. He knows he's in good hands, though. He trusts Patricia and her team to take care of him and his babies.
"Where's my Mum? Has anyone told her that I'm in the hospital?" Louis whines from where he's seated on the bed wearing the night gown they've brought along. He didn't want to wear the hospital gown. He's also in constant pain that only intensifies with every contraction and he wants to know if his Mum is aware he's in labour.
"Mum is picking Jay up and they'll be on their way." Harry tells him, walking up to the bed and brushing his hair back. "Don't worry, baby. We've already texted her."
Louis whimpers, leaning into the touch. He grabs Harry's hand when another contraction hits, and the Alpha leans into him to pepper his face with kisses. "Shh, it's okay, Lou. Just breathe."
"Shut up." Louis almost shouts, but he holds on tighter to Harry's hand.
He releases the Alpha and melts into the bed as the contraction passes.
His Alphas are doing their best to take care of him and help him through it, but Louis himself doesn't really know how he wants them to help. He's tried asking Marcel to rub his lower back because it's aching so much but the Alpha doesn't do it right and Louis' arms get tired too easily whenever he tries to do it himself.
Marcel's phone lights up, and he grabs the device to see who's calling. "It's Mum." He says, growing to his feet. "I'll take it."
The door closes and Louis is left with Harry and Edward. Both of them look exhausted, from work, from panic, from the burden of taking Louis' yelling and screaming. Louis wants to give them everything in this world.
"Get some rest." He says to Harry. "You've been standing there for half an hour. Get some sleep. You'll know when it's time."
Harry looks like he would protest but fatigue catches up with him and he looks even paler. "Okay." He pecks Louis' forehead, his lips, then the back of his hand before he steps away. "I'm just going to wash up first. I'll be back."
Edward pats his brother's back on his way to Louis, and he gives the Omega an accusing stare.
"Continue looking at me like that and you're carrying your next children yourself." Louis glares.
Edward chuckles, sitting beside him on the bed. "I love you."
"Love you too." Louis' face scrunches up with pain, and his body tenses up.
Edward takes his hand, letting Louis grip onto his palm. He uses his free hand to rub comforting circles on the Omega's skin. "Hey." He says, wanting Louis to look at him. "You're almost there, baby."
Louis nods, wrapping an arm around Edward. His nails dig in as he grunts through another contraction, making Edward hold him tighter.
"Fuck, fuck. It hurts." Louis releases him. "I need to, fuck! I need to move."
Edward helps him climb off the bed, saying nothing as Louis bends over it. He's crying from the pain now, loud wails filling the room. Nothing has made the Alpha feel more useless.
"Could you, please, help?" Louis sniffs, stuttering through his tears. "Just rub my lower back. Use your thumbs."
Edward does as told, fitting his hands over Louis' waist and digging his thumb into his flesh. "Here?" When Louis gives him an affirmative, Edward presses down.
Louis' cries start to lower, until all that's left is a silent whimper. "Okay, thanks." He uses one hand to reach back, trying to push Edward's hands away.
The Alpha releases him, taking a step back. "Did that help?"
Louis nods. "A bit."
"Do you want to take a walk?" Edward offers.
"Okay." The Omega holds a palm to his back as he straightens up. Then he gives Edward a small smile, reaching out for his hand.
---
It's a lie if Louis said he isn't scared. He's terrified out of his mind. Of course everything felt fine throughout his pregnancy. All he needed to focus on was to keep himself and his babies healthy.
But shit, bringing two people into the world is an entirely different thing. And to raise them later on? Would he be able to do that well? What if he's not a good mother?
"Alpha." He begs with his eyes still closed, blindly reaching a hand out in hopes that any of them would grab it.
A sweaty palm slides into his, then he feels another hand in his hair. "Baby, I'm here." Marcel is saying, squeezing his hand in comfort.
"I'm scared." Louis' voice cracks and hot tears seep into his pillow.
"You'll be fine, my love. We're here with you." Marcel murmurs, but the fear is shrill in his own voice.
"Please stay with me." He pleads.
"Not going anywhere, Lou."
Louis isn't sure how long they've been in the delivery room. He can't even recall what Patricia said when she last checked up on him, too caught up in the agonising pain. Though, the room has started to fill up with the delivery team again.
When his head clears a little after a particular intense wave, Louis can see Patricia at the end of his bed, talking to Anjali, the nurse who's been attending to him. He tries to look for his Alphas, his lips twitching when he sees that they are walking around the room, shaking hands with everyone and thanking them for being here.
His contractions are coming non-stop, and he's shaking again before he knows it, gripping the metal bar on the side of his bed.
"Baby." Harry is suddenly by his side. Then Louis can feel Edward and Marcel too, standing on the other side. His eyes have fallen shut, but he knows that his Alphas are wearing that worried grimace on their faces.
"How are we doing, Louis?" He hears Patricia ask him.
Louis waits until the wave passes before he huffs out. "Um.. in pain."
She's grinning at him when he opens his eyes. "Shouldn't be too long before you're ready to push."
Louis grunts.
---
Louis doesn't really recall how things progressed, but between clutching on his Alphas' hands and trying to remember how to breathe to get through the pain, he's lost in it all. The next thing he knows, he's screaming and pushing.
Everyone in the room goes alert, and the silent chatter that filled the atmosphere is replaced by urgent shouts. Louis wants to freak out a little at the insistent pressure he's feeling, but seeing how calm Patricia is, he takes a deep breath and reminds himself to stay calm too.
It all goes out the window once the whole show is fully on the road.
He is dimly aware of Edward hissing when Louis' grip tightens on his hand the moment he starts pushing, but Harry full on cries out, staring at his breaking hand as if he wanted to snatch it out of Louis' hold.
"Push again, Louis." Patricia is saying, calm but firm.
Harry makes a pained, choking sound when Louis squeezes his hand again, causing Edward to shoot him a sympathetic look.
"You're so close, Louis." Patricia informs him, encouraging. "Push."
Louis loses the internal battle to keep quiet, and he cries out when everything becomes too intense. He tries to recall whatever tips he's learnt during his class, but at this point he's just listening to his body and trusting his instincts.
There's a hand on his cheek, and then a pair of lips is kissing all over his face. "Shh, my lovely Omega. You're doing so good." Edward whispers, trying to calm him down.
"Hurts, Alpha. Please." He sobs quietly, leaning into Edward's touch and kiss. "Make it go away."
"I know, baby. I'm so sorry." Edward's voice is deeper, torn between being angry at himself for not being able to do anything and being collected so he could calm his Omega down. "I need you to breathe, Lou. Take a deep breath for me."
Louis is screaming at the next push, burying his face in Edward's shoulder and screaming with all of the voice he has in him. He sobs into his Alpha's shirt, the pain so intense that he blacks out for a moment.
"One last push, come on, Louis." Patricia says, sounding so far away.
"One last push, baby." Edward's voice echoing her is a faint sound.
The moment Louis has a hold of himself again, he pushes; screaming so loud that his own head hurts.
And then it's relief.
His senses start to work again, and Louis tentatively pulls back from Edward to see Patricia looking at him proudly. It takes him a moment to realise the bloody baby on him, then he sees the hands cleaning his baby, lifting their little arms to wipe them clean.
His gown is tugged until his chest is exposed, and then the baby is pressed to his skin.
He's not thinking as his arms automatically move to wrap around his child. So soft, so fragile.
"We have a healthy baby girl."
She's crying, her little mouth wide open, but the sound takes a while for Louis to register. It's like he's watching things unravel through a blurry lens, and the sound is muted so he hears nothing. But once her voice finally hits his eardrums, everything is crystal clear. Her cries are sharp and loud, catching the attention of everyone in the room.
She's so pale, so small. And she's his little girl.
Louis bursts into uncontrollable tears, his body shaking with it. He's waited so long for this moment, and now she's here in his arms; everything he's wanted.
"My baby." He sobs, pulling her close until his forehead is pressed to the top of her head. "My baby, my darling. My love." He bites his lower lip, forgetting about everything around him and focusing on her. All he can see is her. She's so small, her fingers are so tiny. She's perfect.
Hearing Louis' voice seems to soothe her, and her cries cease a little into whimpers while she seeks more of his touch. Louis reaches for her cheek with trembling fingers, still in disbelief. Louis wonders if he's dreaming this all up. He's so captivated by this little life he made.
"Hello, baby." His voice cracks, but the words come out. "Hi, darling. It's your Mummy."
She's quiet now, snuggling into him.
Louis finally remembers his Alphas, and he looks up to see Marcel staring at the baby with an equal amount of disbelief Louis is feeling.
"Alpha." He starts crying again.
Marcel turns to him and his face crumbles. "Fuck, come here." He pulls Louis in by his neck, their lips meeting in an emotional kiss, salty from the tears that run down their faces. "We have a baby." He squeaks out against Louis' lips before he pulls back.
"We have a baby." Louis parrots, his voice soft as he looks down at his daughter again. His head turns to his right to look at Edward.
A wet laugh escapes his mouth when he sees that Edward is just standing there, staring at their baby with his jaws slacked. He wonders how long the Alpha has stood there like that.
"Don't you wanna say hi, Papa?" Louis asks softly.
"Fuck." Edward snaps out of it, grabbing Louis' face and mashing their lips together. "I love you. I love you. I love you." He mumbles into the kiss, then pulls back so he could kiss all over his face.
"I love you too." Louis croaks out, letting Edward press a soft kiss to his lips. "Look at her, Alpha." He sighs in contentment as both of them look down at their daughter in Louis' arms.
Edward says nothing, just press another kiss to the side of Louis' head.
They hear sobbing and turn to see Harry standing with his back to them, his hunched shoulder shaking. Marcel is at his side, comforting him with a hand rubbing down his back.
"Everything alright?" Edward questions.
"Someone's emotional." Marcel chuckles before turning back to Harry. "Come on Haz, let's meet our daughter."
When Harry finally starts to relax and spins back to face them, Louis giggles at his flushed, drenched face.
"Oh, Alpha. Come here." Louis calls for him.
Harry hugs him as best as he can with the baby in Louis' arms. Then he pulls back to look at their daughter, crying even more.
"Got your Papa all emotional, love." Louis says to her, making Harry choke up again.
Patricia laughs, and Louis is suddenly reminded that it's not just them in the room. "Come on, give me your phone. I'll take a photo."
Marcel is helping to wipe Harry's tears while Edward goes to pass his phone to Patricia. Louis can hear Marcel whispering to Harry to get himself together, that he's being "embarrassing, for Heaven's sake."
"Okay, smile." Patricia says. "Gorgeous." She's beaming as she passes the phone back to Edward. "So, who's cutting the cord?"
Louis looks up at his Alphas, raising his eyebrows.
"I'll do it." Marcel clears his throat and steps forward. He looks a little shaken as he follows Patricia's instructions, but it goes off without a hitch.
Louis beams down at his daughter, his smile only widening when her eyes are wide open. "So beautiful."
"We're just going to take her away for now, alright?" Patricia's voice distracts him. "Gonna run some checks and measurements, then we'll give her back."
"Okay." Louis murmurs as he passes his baby to her, pouting when his little girl starts to wail again, not wanting to part with him.
She gets his daughter to the cleaning station, then changes into another pair of gloves while the nurses take over the baby. "Ready to get the second baby out, Louis?"
The question, and the fact that he no longer has his baby in his arms, pulls Louis back to the situation at hand. His pain catches up with him and Louis is out of breath all of a sudden.
"Yeah, please." He croaks out anyway.
It goes well, if he says so himself.
The next thing he's aware of, there's another bloody baby on his skin, and Louis would think he's run out of energy to do anything else, but he cries so hard as he cradles his little boy against his chest.
"Hello, my love." He whispers to him, letting the nurse wipe some of the blood on his baby before he presses his lips to the top of the boy's head. "My little boy, I love you so much." Louis croaks out.
The boy isn't crying as much as the girl was, and he's easily soothed by Louis' voice and touch. His eyes blink open, and he stares unfocused in the general direction of Louis' face while the Omega murmurs quietly to his son.
Louis relaxes on the bed, proud of himself for getting through the hard part.
Harry is still crying, probably hasn't stopped ever since he saw their little girl. He laughs wetly when he reaches out to touch their boy's hand and his tiny fingers curl around Harry's. "He's so small." The Alpha sobs.
"He is, isn't he?" Louis replies, cheeks hurting with how much he's smiling. "He's so lovely."
"Come on, Harry. Stop crying. We're all happy here." Edward teases his brother, as if his own eyes aren't red and a bit puffy.
Harry chuckles again. "I am happy."
"Let me take a photo of you, Lou." Marcel says, moving to stand further down the bed. He's already got the phone up and in front of his face, trying to hide his own tear stained cheeks.
Louis frowns. "I look like shit, Marcel."
"No, you don't." Harry shakes his head. "You look so beautiful."
"Oh, fuck off." Louis blushes, fighting through his grin.
Edward reaches out and cups a palm over their little boy's ear. "Louis Tomlinson, do not curse in front of our son."
Louis points out his tongue, then giggles.
Marcel's snapping photos the whole time.
---
When Louis wakes up in the ward hours later, the room is dark. The only dim light comes from a standing lamp from the lounge. Harry and Marcel are asleep on the double bed, both of them tangled together and are snoring.
He was sent back to his room after the delivery, and Louis remembers falling asleep the moment Patricia walked out the door after checking up on him.
Louis sits up straighter, wincing when everything hurts as he moves. It doesn't stop him from shifting again as he turns to seek his babies out. A part of him calms when he finds them tucked in their cots beside his bed.
What warms his heart is the Alpha standing over them, staring at the sleeping babies with nothing but love on his face.
"Hi." Louis says, voice hoarse from sleep.
Edward turns to him, a wide smile blooming. "Lou." He says, taking a few steps until he's reached Louis.
"What time is it?" Louis croaks out, then clears his throat.
"Almost three."
That makes him frown. "Why aren't you asleep?"
"Couldn't." He murmurs. The Alpha leans forward then, pecking his forehead. He tries to place a kiss on Louis' lips but the Omega places a hand on his chest and pushes him back before he could do so.
"I feel like I just swallowed dog shit." Louis grumbles. "Wanna wash up."
The Alpha chuckles, helping him off the bed. He returns to the cots while Louis grabs what he needs from the hospital bag before disappearing into the toilet.
Louis feels more awake once he re-emerges into the room, face freshly washed and teeth brushed. Edward is back by the cots, but the moment he hears the toilet door shut, he rushes to Louis' side.
"Thanks." Louis says after Edward helped him climb onto the bed. "Are you going to sleep any time soon?"
"Not really."
"Then lie down with me." The hospital bed is big enough to fit them both. After all, Louis is tiny regardless of how much he doesn't want to admit it.
Edward obeys, lying beside him and letting the Omega burrow himself into his arms. "How are you feeling?"
"Like I just pushed two babies out of me." Louis sighs.
A pair of lips press against his temple and lingers there. "You were so amazing. I'm really proud of you."
Louis smiles, leaning into him. "Thank you."
"No, thank you." Edward's voice sounds strained. "I felt useless, watching you hurt like that and I couldn't do a thing."
"You and your brothers were there with me, for me. That's all I ask for."
"You were begging me to make it better and I," his breath catches, and he leans down to claim Louis' lips in a passionate kiss. "Fuck, baby. I almost felt my soul leaving my body. You were in so much pain."
Louis is emotional now, looking at how affected his Alpha is.
"Harry couldn't stop crying once you fell asleep." He exhales heavily. "We kept remembering how much pain you were in."
"My silly Alphas." Louis chuckles, pressing kisses along Edward's jaws before cuddling into him. "I love you so much."
"I love you too." Edward nuzzles into his hair. "Don't know if I'd ever want to put you through that again."
The Omega hums. "It was worth it. Every single moment of it."
Edward sighs. "They're precious. Can't believe they're ours."
"Fell in love, didn't you?"
"At first sight."
---
After feeding himself as well as the babies the next morning, Louis lies back in the hospital bed and watches as his Alphas squeeze together on the sofa while they coo over their newborns. He's still so tired and sore, content to just lie there while he tries to save the memory of the awe on his Alphas' face in his mind.
He can hear their low voices murmuring to each other but he can't really be arsed to focus on what they're saying. Though, he did catch some words. It seems like Marcel is teasing Harry again for crying too much in the delivery room last night.
Louis would comment on it considering none of their eyes were dry by the time their boy was safely in his arms, but he doesn't feel like using up his energy for that. Besides, he knows Harry isn't bothered by the teasing either.
He might have nodded off a little, lulled by the soothing blanket that fell over the room from his Alphas' low voices. The next thing he knows, there's a hand in his hair. When he opens his eyes, it's Marcel staring down at him.
"Hey." The Alpha says with a smile, automatically making Louis smile too. "You okay?"
"Yeah, just tired." Glancing at the sofa provides him with the view of Harry nuzzling their baby. He looks so happy.
"Our Mums are coming later." Marcel grabs back his attention. "They're so excited."
Louis grins to himself at the thought. His Mum must be over the moon. "Bet we won't be able to get our hands on the babies once they arrive."
That pulls a chuckle out of Marcel. "I agree."
"Lou." Edward calls, causing the baby in his hold to whimper at the sudden noise. Louis didn't realise he and Marcel have been talking so quietly. The Alpha hushes the baby, holding her closer to his chest until she settles. Once he's sure she's no longer disturbed, Edward turns back to Louis. "You still haven't told us her name."
"Right." Louis' entire being perks up at that. He sits straighter, the exhaustion dissipating at the mere thought of finally sharing their babies' names.
The topic has caught Harry's attention too and he stops cuddling their son. "So?" He prompts.
"Impatient." Louis tuts, but he's beaming. "I've decided to name our daughter Saraphine."
"Saraphine?" Harry tilts his head as he tests the name out on his tongue.
"Saraphine." Marcel and Edward echo.
"Suits her." Edward looks down at the little baby in his hold again. "Saraphine." He repeats, briefly pressing his nose to her cheek and inhaling the infant smell. "My little angel."
"I like it." Marcel nods, turning back to Louis. "Have you chosen her middle name?"
Humming, Louis reaches for Marcel's hand. "Our princess, Saraphine Alexandra Styles." He announces to the room.
Harry's eyes widen, a bright smile taking over his face. "That's beautiful." He sighs, reaching out to brush the back of his finger over Saraphine's cheek. "It really suits her."
It truly does, for some reasons. He fell in love with the name long before he saw her, and the moment she snuggled up to him in the delivery room, Louis knew the name belonged to her.
"She's taking our name?" Marcel asks, eyebrows raised a little warily.
Louis confirms it with a nod. "I want them both to."
"Why not hyphenate?" Edward wonders.
The Omega gives him a look. "We're not married."
"Yet." All three Alphas say at the same time.
"Besides, it's going to be too long." Louis rolls his eyes, but his cheeks are tinged with pink. "Are you going to tell me his name, then?"
"You don't know how much fighting happened when we were trying to decide the name." Marcel chuckles to himself, shaking his head as he recalls the events. "But we eventually came to an agreement." He takes a deep breath, guiding Louis' hand to his mouth so he could press a kiss to it. "Our son would be called Christopher Edmund Styles."
He holds his arms out to Harry. "May I?"
The Alpha rushes to the side of the hospital bed, letting Louis take their son from his arms.
Louis looks down at the boy once he's leaning back on the bed, lips stretched wide into a smile. "Christopher." He tries it, rubbing his thumb over the baby's cheek. He can see it.
"Harry chose the name Christopher and Edward and I liked it. Edward suggested Edmund for the middle name, and we agreed because apparently it means something of wealth and protector." Marcel pauses, then rolls his eyes. "Turns out Edward only chose it because it sounds like a variation of his name."
Louis rolls his eyes too upon hearing that. But then he smiles. "Well, what a coincidence, then. I chose Alexandra because I wanted to name her after Alex, like he did with me and William. But it also means something alongside a defender." He glances at his daughter, then back to his son. "Reckon they'd be a good team."
"They will be." Harry agrees.
Louis turns back to his son, unable to wipe out the smile on his face. He presses his lips to the small forehead, letting it linger. The baby barely twitches. "My little Christopher." He whispers and presses another kiss to the boy's cheek.
---
Louis is dozing when their mothers arrive.
He's pretty sure he had his eyes open but he's also partly aware that he's fallen asleep a number of times. His Alphas are watching the telly, their twins tucked safely in their cots. The room is filled with the low sound of the show on the screen. It's peaceful, content.
The quiet creak of the door makes him conscious, and he blearily blinks as Anne steps into the room with a bright smile on her face, his own Mum trailing behind her. The atmosphere of the room changes in an instant, and Louis can already feel his lips stretching too while he rubs his eyes.
"Hello, how are you feeling darling?" Anne asks, and it makes something inside Louis feel warm and loved when they crowd to the bed instead of heading straight for the babies.
"Did we catch you at a bad time?" Jay wonders when she sees his groggy face. It doesn't stop her from kissing the top of his head and embracing him.
"No, not at all. Was just napping." He yawns into the back of his hand before reaching out to hug Anne too. He hasn't heard a word from his Alphas, so he peeks over Anne's shoulder to see if they even noticed that their Mums are here. Seeing them sleeping with their limbs all over each other explains their silence.
The mothers follow his sight and chuckles to themselves. "It must have been a long night." Jay comments as she turns to him, covering his hand while she studies the exhausted lines on his face.
Louis nods, leaning back while they grab a chair. "Felt endless."
The three of them spend some time sharing their labour stories, giggling among themselves at the funny parts. Their voices eventually roused the Alphas, and they blink at the room in confusion.
"Mum?" Harry squints as if she's far away. "When did you get here?"
Anne cuts her story off in favour to laugh at her son. "We just arrived." She replies, watching in amusement as the triplets groan upon finding out that their limbs fell asleep with them. They stumble over to the Omegas, greeting the ladies with a kiss on the cheek each. Anne stares at them, her eyes glassing. "My babies are parents now.."
Jay chuckles, but her voice is thick too when she says to Louis, "And mine too." She cups his cheek with a tenderness only a mother could show.
It makes him tear up, and he shakes his head, laughing. "Mum, come on. Don't make me cry." He nudges at her palm. "Why don't you two take a look at the babies and stop making us emotional?"
"Right!" Anne wipes her tears, slightly in disbelief that she almost forgot about them. "Let me see my grandchildren."
"She's really acting as if it's her first time." Edward rolls his eyes.
Marcel grins. "Let her be. She's excited."
Jay starts cooing the moment her eyes land on the sleeping babies. "Oh, they're so cute!" She immediately goes to pick Saraphine up, laughing when the little girl whimpers her protest at being disturbed. "Oh, darling. Just let me take a look at you." She tells Saraphine, shamelessly staring.
Meanwhile, Anne has a baby boy warm and comfortable in her arms. "Look at his nose! He's definitely a Styles!"
Harry who has made his way over to stand beside his Mum frowns, peeking over her shoulder. "I don't see it."
"Untrained eye." Louis teases from the bed.
The triplets take turns using the toilet to freshen up while their Mums coo over the babies. Once they're all settled down again, Louis has Harry on the bed with him, Marcel is seated between Anne and Jay while Edward is leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.
"I almost forgot." Jay suddenly says, interrupting the discussion Marcel and Anne were having. "Sorry. It's just, what are their names?"
"Right!" Anne's eyes light up, completely abandoning whatever they were talking about.
Louis giggles to himself, feeling Harry hide a smile in his neck. "Meet Saraphine Alexandra and Christopher Edmund."
"Huh, bet Edward chose that last one." Anne shoots her son a knowing look.
The Alpha has the nerves to look offended at the correct accusation. "It's a good name!"
"Of course." Anne smirks to herself, pulling Christopher closer to her so she could inspect him better now that she knows his name.
"Sounds like a prince." Jay says, shooting fond looks at the baby boy, then Louis. "Just like yours, Lou."
"We did good with the name." Harry concludes with a proud smile.
Louis nods, tugging him in by his shirt until their lips are pressed together. "You did."
"Saraphine Alexandra." Jay repeats, brushing Saraphine's hair back. "It's beautiful."
"It really is." Marcel agrees. "Our Omega has good taste."
Louis preens at the compliment. "It didn't really take me long to put the names together. I fell in love with it right away, just as easily as I fell in love with them." He murmurs, smiling to himself as he recalls the feeling of having them in his arms for the first time.
When he looks at them again, Anne and Jay have exchanged babies. Saraphine is sleeping in Anne's hold, while Christopher is quiet even though he's awake from all the jostling.
"Saraphine." Anne coos. "Saraphine. Saraphine. Hello, darling." Upon the shower of kisses her grandma presses to her face, Saraphine starts to whimper, squirming in her grandmother's hold.
"Mum, you're making her cry." Harry scolds when Saraphine wails upon the endless kisses.
"Oh, I'm sorry, darling." Anne shushes her, swaying gently to soothe her down. She's still kissing her, though, unable to stop from pressing her nose to the little cheek.
Louis chuckles when his daughter won't stop crying. "She's probably a little fussy because you woke her up."
"Let me." Marcel holds out his hands towards his mother. Saraphine's loud cries quiets down into a tiny whimper once she's in her father's hold, and she goes silent when Marcel whispers a quiet hush, trying to comfort her. "Hey, peanut."
Her eyes are open wide now, looking at him, but a moment later they're closed again. She turns her head, burying her face at his chest.
"She's so adorable." Anne gushes, holding a hand to her chest. "My grandchildren are so beautiful."
"They really are." Jay doesn't hesitate to agree.
---
"Jesus fucking Christ." Louis startles awake as the ship horn goes off. The twins start to cry, almost equally loud as Edward's alarm. The shock fills him with panic, his blood running cold, and it only gets worse when he imagines how it affects his babies.
"Fuck. Shit. Fuck." Edward grunts as he climbs off the bed, only half awake and panicked, stumbling through everything in his haste to turn it off.
As the alarm is silenced, the loud cries of Saraphine and Christopher are the only sound to fill the room, causing Louis' heartbeat to spike as he scrambles to the bassinets.
They're crying as if they were hurt, calling out for him, calling out for comfort, and the sound is breaking Louis' heart that he starts crying too. "Shh, my babies, it's fine, it's fine." He's sobbing by the time he's picking them up, one in each arm. Louis sits back and cradles them close, tears running down his face as he tries to calm their loud wails, apologising over and over again.
He's rocking back and forth, paying attention to nothing else but calming his babies down. Their tears have ceased now that they're near him, but both are still whimpering.
"It's okay. It's fine, I'm here. I'm so sorry, I'm here." Louis whispers, clutching his babies tighter. "You're fine. You're fine."
It takes a while before both of them are calm enough to go back to sleep. Louis still has his eyes shut, still rocking back and forth gently, occasionally making shushing sounds.
When he opens his eyes, Harry and Marcel are sitting up on the bed, staring at him, stunned, while Edward is standing near the bed, looking extremely regretful.
"Lou." It's Edward who speaks up. "I'm so sorry. I truly forgot to turn off the alarm."
Marcel carefully grabs Christopher from him, passing the boy to Harry before he claims Saraphine in his arms. "Edward." He calls, then.
The mentioned Alpha climbs back into bed, gentle as he pulls Louis into his aembrace. Louis starts sobbing again before he even hits Edward's chest.
"They were, they were crying, so hard." He stutters into the Alpha's skin, his body shaking. "I felt like shit." Louis whines. "I couldn't protect them enough that they felt so upset they were crying, like, like that."
Edward feels even more guilty upon hearing that, kissing whatever part of Louis he could reach. "It was my fault. I'm really sorry, baby."
Louis takes his time to breathe, knowing that he shouldn't be stressing out. "I'm sorry." He mutters once he's not as overwhelmed. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me."
"It's fine. Don't apologise." Marcel replies, still staring at him with worry. "Are you alright?"
Louis nods, wiping his eyes. "Just shocked."
"They're okay, Lou." Harry says. "You're okay."
"I know." He sighs heavily, voice thick with tears. "I'm being silly."
"You're not." Edward pulls him close again. "It's perfectly valid."
Louis stares at the babies in his Alphas' arms. "Give me them." He holds out his hands, pouting.
Marcel is careful as he places Saraphine into his hold. Then he watches as Harry tucks Christopher into Louis' free arm.
"I love you both so so much." Louis kisses both of their sleeping faces. "I will never let anything hurt you."
---
Louis rouses awake at the sound of knocking on the door, taking a deep breath and trying to make sense of where he is. His mind is still befuddled with sleep, and he's not as keen to actually join the land of the living just yet. As he lies there and stares at the ceiling, events of the previous days slowly trickle in.
It takes the breath out of him when he realises that he's really a mother now. He has children. He has twins.
He sits up, getting agitated as he recalls what happened earlier this morning with Edward's alarm. Shit, what time is it? Has he fed his babies yet?
"Hey.." A gentle hand slides to the middle of his back, and Louis turns around to see Marcel smiling softly at him. "You're okay."
"What time is it?" Louis asks, eyes widening.
"Just a bit past seven." Marcel pecks his cheek. Then he looks up at the door. Right, Louis forgot that was the reason he's awake in the first place. He turns back to see Harry letting Jay enter.
She looks far too excited for this hour of the morning. But he can relate, especially at the thought of getting to see his babies.
"Good morning." Jay throws him a bright smile. "How are you feeling?"
Harry motions to the bathroom where he's standing behind her, and upon nods from Marcel and Louis, he disappears to take a shower.
"A bit shit, to be honest." Louis scoots closer to the edge of the bed, peeking into the bassinets to see his babies sleeping soundly. It calms him down a little, watching how peaceful and unbothered they are. The heavy feeling in his chest lightens, but it doesn't push away his guilt at what happened.
Jay takes a seat at the corner of the bed, reaching out a hand and gripping his shoulder. "What's wrong?"
Louis looks at her, then back to his babies. Jay patiently waits for him to open his mouth, but he doesn't. "We forgot to turn off the alarm last night. It went off this morning." Marcel decides to explain, scooting close until he can rub a hand down his Omega's back. "Louis feels guilty because the babies got scared."
"Oh darling." Jay caresses his cheek. "There are a lot of things you will learn as a mother. One of them is that you can't protect them from everything."
"I know, but it hurt when they cried like that, Mum." Louis sighs.
"I'm sure it did." She nods, pensive. "Whatever happened this morning is not a reflection of who you are as parents. All of you were tired, and it's normal for something like that to happen. This is a big change in your life. It'll take time to get used to it, and there are some things you are bound to forget, especially because you're a first time parent. You're learning. It's okay."
Louis takes her words in, thinking it over. Then the tension seeps out of him, his shoulders slumping. "You're right. Thank you, Mum."
"You're doing fine, baby. Don't worry." She pecks his cheek, brushing his hair back. "Other than that, are you doing okay? The babies okay?"
"Yeah, I think we're fine. Think it's time to feed them now, though." Louis turns back to Marcel. "It was around four when I last fed them, right?"
Marcel nods at him, turning to Jay. "They went back to sleep after."
Louis gathers Christopher into his arms, slowly lifting him out of his bassinet. The baby starts crying, low and whiny as he squirms in Louis' hold. It subsides right away, and his blue eyes peek up at Louis. "Good morning, my love." He murmurs, tucking him into an arm and using his free hand to brush back Christopher's hair.
"He's such a quiet one." Her voice is full of fondness when she points it out after watching the way Christopher stares up at Louis while he feeds.
Louis frowns. "Is that a bad thing?"
"I don't believe so. He cries when he's hungry or when his nappy is full, doesn't he?"
Marcel shares a look with Louis. "Yeah, but he's not really loud. He doesn't cry like Saraphine does."
Jay chuckles. "Not sure if you noticed, but Saraphine only cries that loud when she wants Louis to hold her."
"She's playing favourites already?" Marcel gasps, mock offended.
Louis throws him a smug look. "Mum privilege."
"I think your babies know you're always there, so they don't need to beg for your attention for things that they need you for. Saraphine just wants some extra attention." Jay shrugs. "You haven't been away from them at all."
"Can't make me." Louis affirms. "I'm never leaving them."
"Lucky." Marcel grumbles, climbing off the bed. "I'm going to get you breakfast."
"I haven't even brushed my teeth." Louis deadpans. "But alright, thank you." He calls out to Marcel's back as the Alpha disappears out of the door.
Jay looks as proud as a mum can look, as if she wants to wrap him up in a hug so tight they both can't breathe. She settles for a big smile instead. "I'm happy for you, Louis."
"Thank you Mum." He replies, his voice quiet. "I've never been happier."
"I'm glad. That's all I ever want for you." She palms his cheek, brushing her thumb over his skin.
Louis leans into her touch, closing his eyes and exhaling a contented sound. "Thank you for being here."
"Of course."
The door creaks open, catching their attention. Edward steps into the room, shirtless and drenched in sweat. He tilts his head when he notices Jay in the room.
"Morning, Jay."
"Morning, Edward." She nods back. "Were you out running?"
"Yeah." He murmurs, his eyes on Louis. "Needed some fresh air."
"Harry's in the shower." Louis tells him. "You okay?"
Edward frowns. "Me?"
"This morning." Louis studies him carefully as he says that. It doesn't escape him when Edward shifts on his feet. "Wasn't your fault."
"Lou." He eyes Jay warily, giving Louis an exasperated look. They can't be having this conversation while Jay is in the room, can they?
"Tell him, Mum." Louis is not above using a higher authority figure.
Jay looks amused as she glances at Louis, but it melts into concern when she turns to Edward. "He's right, darling. Don't worry about it."
The Alpha sighs, but Louis can almost see the doubt and guilt leaving him. "Can't believe you'd pull your Mum into this."
"It worked."
"I'm gonna go shower." Edward says in lieu of a reply.
"Harry's in there." Louis repeats.
"Then I'll throw him out."
Jay laughs, shaking her head as Edward barges into the bathroom and Harry shrieks in surprise. When she turns back to Louis, he's shifting Christopher in his arms so he could make the baby burp. The smile looks good on her son.
"The girls are excited to meet your babies." Jay reminds him.
His sisters actually came along with his Mum and Jay, but they stayed over at the house instead of tagging along to the hospital. By the time Louis came back with his babies yesterday, it was in the evening and Gemma who had just arrived that noon had taken them out for dinner. When they came back it was already late for them to bother Louis and his babies, so they still haven't met him nor his children.
"Well, we can have them over in the nursery after breakfast." Louis holds Christopher out to his mother once he's satisfied that the baby is burped and content.
"That'd be great." She agrees, then coos at her grandson.
Meanwhile, Louis is picking Saraphine up and chuckling when she protests with a whimper that turns into a cry. "She's not even crying properly." Louis says, amused at the sounds she's making. "She just wants to be comforted."
"As if you're not happy to do it." Jay teases.
Louis ignores her, because it's true. He presses his nose to her neck, hushing her. "I'm here, baby. Good morning."
Saraphine begins to quiet as Louis whispers more comforting words, making sure she's properly settled down before he feeds her.
---
It's a calm, quiet morning. Nothing but the sound of the birds outside and the occasional snoring of his Alphas can be heard. Louis has already fed the twins, but they don't appear to be so eager to go back to sleep just yet. Louis feels like he should be bathing them while they're awake now, but he doesn't want to move.
Careful as he lays back on the bed with Saraphine on his chest, Louis blinks lazily at her. She's wide awake this morning, eyes wide and looking but not entirely focusing.
Saraphine likes to look at him when he puts her on tummy time on his chest, almost unblinking as he talks to her in a soft voice. It's no different this time.
"Hey baby." He greets her softly, brushing her soft hair back. "How are we doing this morning?" She shuts her eyes, letting her face squish down on his chest until her cheek is resting against his skin. Her face tilts up so she's looking at his face. "Yeah, I'm here." He assures her, rubbing a hand down her back.
Edward rolls over somewhere beside him, and Louis does it on instinct when he brings his arm up to stop his Alpha from embracing him. He'd probably crush Saraphine if he managed to do that.
The Alpha doesn't wake up, but he does frown in his sleep at not getting to hold his Omega. Louis pushes his arm off so it flops back down on the bed, nowhere near Saraphine.
Chuckling and shaking his head to himself, Louis scoots away from Edward until they're at a safe distance. "Your Papa is clingy, even in his sleep." He tells her. "I bet you're going to be as clingy too, aren't you?"
Marcel snores into the room.
"But it's okay." Louis continues. "I want you and Christopher to be clingy as long as you can. Who knows how long I'd get to have you until you don't look for Mummy anymore?"
When she looks like she's starting to get sleepy, Louis slowly sits up with a hand on her back. She's already asleep when he places her back into her bassinet.
Christopher is still wide awake, and Louis grins as he lifts his son up for his tummy time too. Once he's comfortable in the same position as he was with Saraphine, Louis drops a kiss on Christopher's head.
"You're so cute." Louis gushes quietly. "I've never met a cuter baby than you and your sister." Then he giggles to themselves. "I might be biased."
After a short silence, Louis' voice picks up again, softer this time. "I think you and your sister are the best thing to ever happen to me." He sighs. "I thought I loved as much as I could with your Papas, but that can't compare to the love I felt when I met you and Saraphine."
Christopher makes a quiet whimper, chin pressing to Louis' chest before he lifts his head again, arms flailing.
"Thank you for picking me to be your Mummy."
Christopher presses his cheek to Louis' chest, same as Saraphine did, and Louis realises that they could hear his heartbeat.
---
"Babe, are you sure you don't need any help?" Marcel asks tentatively, a hand hovering in the air. He's contemplating reaching for a moving arm, but it'd probably get shrugged off. When he gets no answer, Marcel steps closer.
"No, no. I've got this!" Harry protests, as if Marcel is physically stopping him. "I can do it."
"Okay." Marcel mutters after a short silence. He watches without another word as Harry fumbles with the nappy, trying to put it on correctly on Christopher. The little boy has his hands clasped together, blinking his blue eyes at them, out of focus. Marcel melts all over again.
"Okay, I think I'm done." Harry announces, straightening up from the changing station and patting Christopher's tummy.
Marcel admits that it does look like Harry did a good job. "Well done." He beams, patting his brother's back as he bends down to drop a kiss on Christopher's forehead.
Harry grins, pulling the baby shorts up Christopher's legs and making sure the waistband is comfortably snug on him before scooping his son up proudly. He can't wait to show Louis that he's managed to put the nappy on correctly this time and without any help. "Finally, no more getting peed on!" He makes a sound of triumph, prompting Marcel to snort.
"Congratulations, dork." Marcel shakes his head to himself. "Come on, I bet they're waiting for us."
When they step into the lounge a few minutes later, it's to find Edward on the sofa with Saraphine sleeping on his chest. Louis is stretched on the armchair, buried in a book.
Marcel and Harry make themselves comfortable on the loveseat, Harry with Christopher cuddled into him while Marcel is going through the channel and ignoring Edward's protest.
"I was watching that, Marcy." Edward is grumbling, rubbing Saraphine's back when she seems disturbed by the sudden noise. "Sorry, Princess." He whispers, kissing the top of her head.
"Just let me see what else is on." Marcel replies distractedly, a loose arm wrapped around Harry.
"How long has Lou been reading?" Harry wonders, knowing the Omega isn't even listening.
"Just ten minutes. Let him be." Edward flicks his eyes to their subject, then his gaze returns to the TV. It's rare for Louis to get time to himself lately, so when he has the little time just to be by himself and not carry the constant concerns of a mother, the triplets try to let him enjoy it as long as he can.
Harry hums to himself. Conversation pauses; nothing but the sound of the TV and Marcel tapping at the remote. Then he speaks up. "How has it been two weeks?"
"Doesn't feel like it." Edward responds, staring down at Saraphine's sleeping face. "Feels like yesterday we held them for the first time."
Marcel sighs and finally puts the remote down. "Don't remind me. The next thing we know we have to go back to work."
"Well, that's depressing." Harry mutters, clutching Christopher tighter. "That's only six weeks away."
"Innit?" Marcel sighs again, running his hand down the little boy's head. "Can't imagine how that would feel like."
"Are you three getting emotional?" Louis pipes up, slamming the book shut and reaching out to place it on the coffee table.
"Maybe." Edward clears his throat. "I just can't imagine not getting to stare at them for the whole day. What are we supposed to do? Just imagine their faces?" He scoffs.
"There's this great invention called a camera, Edward." Louis narrows his eyes. "It allows you to take photos."
"That's not the same, though." Harry huffs. "Seeing them breathe calms me down." His voice goes soft, almost like he's only talking to himself as he nuzzles into the top of Christopher's head. "Can't see them breathe through photos."
Louis is silent as he mulls it over. "We'll figure it out." He curls into himself. "Maybe you can take turns working from home."
Edward doesn't blink, probably doesn't even breathe. "Doesn't sound like a bad idea." He looks like he's a second away from making that call right now.
"You have a month and a half to think it over. Just enjoy being home with the babies while it lasts." Louis yawns, stretching his limbs out and letting out a loud groan. "Oh that feels good. I think I need a massage."
"On it." No one saw Marcel pull out his phone. All of a sudden it's in his hands and he's typing away.
"I wasn't even asking." Louis says, exasperated. The fondness in his eyes says otherwise. "Thank you."
Edward chuckles. "Don't know what you were expecting. We're always ready to tend to you and our babies."
"Hmmm." Louis grows to his feet and stretches again, then he strolls over to Marcel and climbs into the Alpha's lap. He tucks his head under Marcel's chin and hums. "Best Alphas ever."
---
Louis has just finished checking up with the Betas for the food they were supposed to prepare when he receives a call on his phone. He thanks them again before he fishes the device out and feels his mood lightening upon seeing the name on the screen.
"Hey, are you here?" He asks the moment he answers the call.
"Yeah! We're just at the gate." Alex's voice informs him, sounding equally as excited as Louis feels.
"Alright, I'll see you in a bit!"
Once he's tucked the phone back into his pocket, Louis rushes up to the nursery to check on his babies. Upon walking in, he finds Harry sprawled over the sofa, arm thrown across his face and snoring softly. One of his leg is on the back of the sofa, the other hanging down onto the floor. Marcel is reading quietly on one of the armchairs, curled into himself while he's lost in the story.
"Hey." He says, closing the door behind him.
Marcel looks up from his book, putting it away the moment he sees Louis. "Hey, is Alex here yet?"
"Yeah. He's at the gate." Louis tells him. He heads straight for the cots, checking up on his babies. They're all swaddled up, calm and peaceful, just like their napping Papa. Except maybe they're not drooling like Harry is.
"They didn't wake." Marcel says from behind him. A pair of arms wrap around his waist before his Alpha presses up against him. His warmth is familiar and Louis leans into it, letting Marcel nuzzles the curve of his neck.
"I love watching them sleep." Louis murmurs.
"Yeah, they're quiet." Marcel chuckles.
Louis gasps, mock offended. "You say that as if they cry all the time."
Marcel plants a kiss on his lips, going back in for another when he thinks it not enough. When he pulls back, Louis is smiling. "They don't cry all the time." He agrees. "But when they sleep, that's when we get to have you."
Louis elbows him. "I'm not a toy for you to have."
"You know what I mean." Marcel huffs, making the Omega laugh.
"Did you miss me?"
Marcel nods with his eyes shut as he presses his nose to Louis' neck again. "Sort of." He exhales, then straightens up so he could look Louis in the eye. "Parenthood is tough, but it feels like the greatest thing too. Though, I can say what I like least about it is how little time we actually get to ourselves."
"I know what you mean." Louis turns to the twins. "We'll have that soon enough. We just need to figure out a schedule or routine of some sorts between us." He shrugs. "And if not, we can always get the Betas to help watch over them if we want time to ourselves."
"Yeah." The Alpha grins. "But you can barely leave them for five minutes before you miss them."
"Exactly." Louis spins around in his arms so he stands facing him, cupping his face. "Bear with me for this? It won't be forever."
"Of course." He leans down to capture Louis' lips. "We're parents first before we're mates now."
"Yeah." Louis kisses him again. His eyes widen when he feels his phone vibrating in his pocket. "Oh, Alex is here! We should go down and greet them."
Marcel chuckles at the excitement on his Omega's face. "Okay. You go down and see them first. I'll wake Harry up."
With one last look at his babies, Louis leaves the nursery to greet Alex at the door. Edward is already there by the time he gets to the entrance hall, engaged in a conversation with both Alex and Hailey, all of them laughing.
Louis' attention immediately goes to little Will, squealing a little. "Hiii!" The way the baby lights up at seeing him makes him giggle.
"Hey, Lou!" Alex reaches out for a hug and Louis barrels into his arms, laughing in delight at seeing his friend again.
"It's so good to see you!" He claims as he pulls back, sharing a smile with Alex before he turns to Hailey. "And you too!" Once he's properly greeted his friends, Louis finally turns his attention back to the young one in the stroller. "William!"
The mentioned subject squeals.
Louis holds his hands out to William, waiting until the baby reaches out for him to scoop him up against his chest. He laughs when William starts patting his face, cooing at Louis as much as Louis is cooing at him.
"Louis." Edward clears his throat to stop his laughter, amused. "Our guests have to be starving. It's time for lunch."
"Right." Louis widens his eyes, only realising how much he's caught up with William. He's so weak against babies. "Let's go, then!"
He leads their little group away to the dining room, William tucked safely in his arms. The baby is giggling, little chin resting on Louis' shoulder as Alex makes funny faces behind them.
Once Harry and Marcel join them for lunch, the dining room is filled with warm chatters and laughter. Louis never gives up a chance to make fun of his best friend, and Hailey never gives up a chance to back him up on it.
"Come on, Lou. I want to see your babies." Hailey finally says once they're all done with lunch and William is fed too.
Louis almost wants to burst with excitement at finally introducing his babies to his best friend. "Yes! We can go now!"
"Slow down, babe." Harry chuckles when Louis stumbles into him in his haste.
"Sorry." He grins, but he takes Harry's hand. They lead their guests to the lift, letting William press the button to the top floor.
Their loud chatter slowly quiets into low murmurs as Louis opens the door to the nursery. Melissa and Nara, the Betas Marcel has called to watch over the babies while they had lunch are still there, each of them holding a twin.
"Thank you." Louis tells them as he takes Christopher from Nara while Melissa places Saraphine into the crook of Edward's arm.
"No problem, Louis." Nara tells him with crinkles in the corner of her eyes.
As the door falls shut behind the Betas, Alex steps up to Louis with an awed look on his face.
"They're beautiful." He murmurs, reaching out to run the back of his finger along Christopher's cheek. The little boy is blinking at Alex, then he's yawning. "What are their names?"
"This is Christopher." Louis murmurs, pressing a kiss to the top of his son's head.
"Hello Christopher." Alex bends down a little until Christopher's eyes run over his face. "Hi, I'm your uncle Alex."
"May I?" Louis hears Hailey ask Edward. She's already passed William to Harry in favour of reaching out for Saraphine.
"That's Saraphine." Louis tells Hailey when she beams as she holds the girl. Louis turns to Alex, waiting for Alex to meet his gaze; then he says, "Saraphine Alexandra."
Alex stares at him, eyes slowly welling up. "You sap." He chokes out.
Louis shrugs, but the moment after he passes Christopher to his Alpha, his finger is wiping away the tears in his eyes and his best friend is sweeping him up into a tight hug. He laughs, patting Alex's back.
"Thank you, Lou." Alex chokes out.
"Stop. You're making me cry." Louis pulls back and weakly punches Alex's arm. "We're here to look at my babies, not to have a sobbing party."
"Sorry, sorry." Alex chuckles. "Where's the baby boy again? Let me see him."
Edward gently tucks Christopher into Alex's arm, stepping back once he's sure his son is secured.
William gurgles and coos from Harry's hold, his chubby arms reaching out towards his parents and the babies.
"Hmm, he's so excited to look at the babies." Louis teases, a shit-eating grin on his face when Alex and Hailey glare at him.
"Shut up, Tomlinson." She tells him, rolling her eyes. "Just wait until your babies start waking up at 3AM and wants to play."
Louis giggles. "I have three Alphas."
"Ouch." Marcel says, a hand over his heart. "That's all we're good for."
"Maybe when William is older." Alex shrugs, looking down at Christopher. "I definitely missed the feeling of holding a newborn."
"Maybe when he's four." Hailey tells them with a pointed look at Alex. "Not any time sooner, Mister."
They all laugh at that, William clapping his hands and cheering with them.
---
Louis wakes up to kisses on his face, smiling as he tilts his face until one of the kisses eventually lands on his lips.
"Happy birthday." Harry murmurs against his mouth, kissing him again.
The Omega grins, turning to accept a kiss from Edward, deep and passionate. He's breathless when they pull away, still lightheaded as Marcel's lips cover his gently.
"Happy Birthday." The triplets chorus again.
Louis grins. "Thank you." His nose scrunches. "I'm getting old."
"You're not too old." Harry tells him.
"Too old. Yeah. I'm still old though." Louis crosses his arms. "I should find eternal youth before it's too late."
"For what?" Marcel wonders. "You'd probably get bored the moment we all die and start wrecking havoc."
"I will not tolerate this disrespect." Louis points a finger at him, huffing. The Omega finds his place in Harry's lap, getting comfortable in his Alpha's embrace. "So, what should we do today?"
"Well, since we couldn't go back north this year and our life has been a bit caught up with our babies, we decided to do nothing." Marcel informs him. "Well, to be precise, you get to do nothing."
Louis looks amused but definitely interested. "Keep talking."
"All you have to do today is feed them, and we'll take care of the rest." Edward starts listing off on his fingers. "We'll bathe them, change their nappies, put them to sleep, do their tummy time. You just sit back and relax."
"We also told the Betas to make some of your favourite food." Harry adds on in excitement. "And a cake!"
"Harry!" Marcel and Edward chastise with a groan.
It makes Louis crack up. "That was supposed to be a surprise then?"
Harry offers a sheepish grin. "Sorry."
"I love you." Louis murmurs, cupping Harry's face and pressing their lips together. Then he dives into Edward's and Marcel's arms, doing the same and repeating what he said. "I can already tell it's going to be a good birthday."
"Now, if you wanna take a bath, you have an hour before you have to feed the babies. What do you say?" Marcel asks, glancing at his watch.
"I say find me again in an hour." Louis crawls off the bed and runs straight to the bathroom, leaving his Alphas in a fit of laughter.
---
Early January marks the twins a month and a half. They're filling out and gaining weight every week, getting chubbier and healthier as time goes by.
The babies have also started to smile whenever they see his face and it drives Louis crazy every morning because he can't handle his cute babies smiling at him.
Both of them are about the same weight and Anjali, his nurse that comes to check up on him and the twins complimented him and his babies for their health and growth.
As usual, the moment Louis wakes up, he would peek at his babies to see if they're still sleeping. They are, so Louis takes the time to lie back down and just enjoy the moment for a while.
Perrie and Eleanor are going to be over today. They dropped by a week after Christmas, absolutely gushing over the twins and having to drag themselves out of the house when they had to go home.
Niall and his family also came over a few days after Christmas to check up on him and pay a visit. The way Hana and Haziq treated the babies with delicate touches and quiet giggles prompted Louis to believe that their children will get on well with each other considering how enraptured Saraphine and Christopher get when Niall's children talked to them. Even Heather spent most of the time trying to get to the babies. Though, considering she is still one, herself, it's expected that she would reach out to touch with strength she could not quite control. So whenever Heather neared the twins, she needed extra supervision.
It's been nice to have his friends over, especially when Louis hasn't really left the house except to go for a walk with the babies and it's only within their compound. But since it's winter, those trips are usually short anyway.
He had already told the Betas to make some pasta for them to have when Eleanor and Perrie arrive. A Beta also offered to bake some brownies so Louis quickly took her up for it.
The girls are looking forward to see Saraphine and Christopher again, but the main reason for their visit is to just spend some time with Louis. The three of them are going to be swimming in the indoor pool, something Louis suggested when Patricia gave him the clearance to start exercising.
They probably are already on their way. He climbs off the bed, checking up on his babies to see if any of them is awake. Maybe he should feed them after he's taken his shower. They're usually good entertaining themselves for a few minutes after they've woken up, but if they start crying, his Alphas are there.
When he leaves the bathroom, Harry is seated on the bed, cradling Saraphine to his chest. He's murmuring softly to her and she looks like she's paying every bit of her attention to her father, so Louis disappears into the closet and takes his time to dry himself and get dressed. He's wearing a swimsuit underneath his joggers and t-shirt, not wanting to have to come up to change later on.
He goes back into the room to find Harry holding up Saraphine to his face so he could kiss her face as he talks to her.
"Good morning." Louis greets them, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. "Did she wake you up?"
Harry turns to Louis and nods. "She wasn't crying, though. Just made those whimpering sounds."
Louis grins at his daughter. "Yeah, think she got that from you, always wanting attention."
The Alpha nuzzles against the baby. "Yeah, my little peanut aren't you?"
Her lips quirk up at the attention, and Louis coos. "My baby."
She's squirming in Harry's hold, and he holds her close to his chest again until she settles down. Harry kisses the top of her head, his body screaming its contentedness. "I love waking up like this, waking up to them."
"I know." He could relate to it. It feels unreal how little sleep means to him now that he has something much more important to wake up to.
Harry taps her little nose, chuckling to himself when she blinks. "Perrie and Eleanor are coming today, right?"
"Yeah. You'll be okay without me for a few hours, right? I'll still feed them when they need me."
"Lou, we'll be fine. We know how to take care of our babies." Harry assures him. "Remember your birthday?"
Louis sighs, shaking his head to himself. "Right, sorry. I'm just excited about getting to hang with the girls, but I don't want to forsake taking care of my children."
"It's okay to do that for a few hours. You have three capable Alphas to take over." Harry leans in and presses a kiss to his cheek. "Relax. Have fun."
"Yeah." Louis smiles. "Okay. Now come and let me feed them before I go."
---
Two hours later finds Louis in the pool, floating on his back with his eyes shut while Perrie lounges on one of the floats. Eleanor is seated on the poolside, her legs kicking away in the water.
"So." Perrie prompts. "How's motherhood treating you?"
Louis grins without opening his eyes. "Good. Amazing."
"Do they cry at night?" Eleanor wonders.
Louis finally rights himself in the water and turns to his friend. "Sometimes. But usually they'd just whimper and I'd wake up. Saraphine does cry if I take too long to get to her, but Christopher is a quiet baby. He only cries when he's gassy or his nappy is full."
Perrie coos, tucking her chin into her palm. "They're the cutest things."
Louis might preen a little at the compliment towards his babies. "They really are, but I might just be biased."
Perrie hums, then kicks her feet so the float would turn her around until she's facing Louis and Eleanor. "You know how some mothers struggle with the change, do you get that?"
He's had some thoughts about it, and the truth makes him cringe. "Not really. I'm in love with them, and I'm sure other mothers do too. But the difference is that I'm extremely privileged, Pez?" At the confused look on her face, he continues. "Well, I never really do much housework in the first place. I don't have to cook, or mop the floors, or clean up. We have the Betas for that. When I do it, it's a choice and not something I have to do to keep the house in order."
Eleanor nods vigorously from where she's seated. "Right. So you didn't have to balance between cleaning up and all with your babies. You could just focus on them."
"Yeah, and I'm extremely grateful for that. But at the same time I know that I don't face a lot of struggles not because I'm so good at being a mother or whatever. I'm sure other mothers wouldn't be struggling too if they had the same privilege." Louis tells them. "It makes me respect mothers even more, honestly."
Perrie hums, thoughtful. "And your Alphas are as involved with your babies as you are."
Louis bursts out laughing at that. "Sometimes I'd have to fight Harry to get to change their nappies."
Eleanor turns to look at the door and smiles. "It's been an hour and they haven't looked for you once."
"They love taking care of them too. And sometimes I feel guilty for thinking that it's my responsibility alone when they're there, and we're a team." Louis admits.
"You'll remember it soon enough." Perrie assures him. "I think I've had enough of the pool. Should we watch a movie next?"
Eleanor pulls her legs out of the water, climbing to her feet in an instant. "I'm choosing the film!"
"No!" The splash that happens as Perrie abandons her float gets water into Louis' eyes and chaos ensues.
---
Louis wants to cackle at the look on his Alphas' faces as they get ready in the morning, but he knows the situation would probably come back to bite him in the ass later on. Edward is still in the closet, taking his time to get dressed while Marcel is already clad in his slacks with the dress shirt tucked in, sighing to himself every three seconds while he puts on his tie.
He turns to Harry who's fully dressed and ready, standing by the bassinets and staring at the babies in sorrow while he fixes his jacket. His pout is visible even from where Louis is standing.
Louis walks up to Marcel and takes over his task when the Alpha sighs again. He undoes the whole thing and starts from the first loop. "It's not the end of the world." The Omega murmurs.
Edward walks out of the closet just in time to hear him say that. "It's not." He agrees. "But it sure is bollocks."
"You know I would never be against you three staying home." Louis tells them, patting the finished result of the tie resting on Marcel's collarbones.
"Neither would we." Marcel says, casting a longing look at his babies. "But it won't be fair to the rest of our staff."
Harry lets out a sigh loud enough to grab the attention of everyone in the room. "I'm going to implement a new system. People with children get to go home early."
Louis smiles. "You do that, babe."
"When is bring-your-kid-to-work day again?" Edward asks Marcel; Louis doesn't know if he's kidding or if he's actually serious.
Marcel shuts his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. "We don't have that."
Edward makes a surprised, offended noise. "I'm going to rectify that. It's going to be on every Thursday."
Louis giggles at that. "Come on. You'll be fine. You'll be home by five and we are going to be here, waiting for you." He tries to assure them. "I'll call you during lunch, and I'll make sure they would be awake then so you could talk to them."
"Promise?" Harry asks.
"Promise."
Edward is the first to give in, walking up to Louis and kissing him long and deep until Louis is gasping for air by the time the Alpha pulls back. Smirking at the flush on Louis' face, he looks entirely too smug for being able to cause him to look like that. "I love you. We'll be home by 6."
"Okay." Louis nods, patting his chest. "I love you too."
Edward releases him and joins Harry by the bassinets while Louis grabs Marcel's jacket for him, helping him to put it on before Marcel tugs him close and buries his face in Louis' hair.
"I'm going to miss you at work." He mumbles.
"Sap." Louis pokes his tummy, but he burrows further into the embrace. "I'll miss you too. It's going to be weird being by myself. But I'm sure our babies would behave."
Marcel hums in agreement. "They always do. And you can always ask the Betas for help."
"Yeah."
Once Marcel has his fair share of hugs, Harry takes his place and holds the Omega like he doesn't want to let go.
Two months of them constantly being together felt so short; it was bliss and the inevitable end to it is such a betrayal to their happiness. Louis has a heavy heart letting them go too, but they all have their responsibilities and they need to get back to them.
"Call us if anything happens. Anything." Harry gazes into his eyes, his mouth a hard line.
The rare sight of Harry being so concerned makes him worry too. "Hey, Haz. You'll be fine, okay? You can call me if you just wanna look at them."
"Oh trust me, we all will." Edward says.
The Alphas make sure to spend as long as they can kissing and nuzzling into the twins before they leave, but Louis' phone rings barely an hour later and it's a video call from Harry. Edward and Marcel send their requests to join the call too within the following hour.
Louis spends most part of his day without his phone, having it placed strategically near the bassinets so the Alphas could see the babies while they work. He doesn't really know if their first day of separation is considered successful or not, but he doesn't blame his Alphas for being obsessed with their babies; he is too.
---
Louis stares at the sleeping Alphas on his bed, smiling to himself.
Edward has Saraphine on his chest, a protective hand over her back. Marcel and Harry are snoring while Christopher sleeps soundly, tucked in Harry's arm.
He wonders how he got so lucky to have this.
There was a point where he didn't even want an Alpha.
And now he has three amazing ones, and two little babies that he couldn't love more even if he tried.
The twins are four months old now, so chubby and fat and adorable beyond compare. Louis wants to cuddle them for the rest of his life.
The clock shows that it's barely four in the evening, but the sky is already dark outside. It's most likely going to rain. The room is so cosy and his sleeping family makes him want to climb into bed too.
Instead, he wants to clean.
The room is a mess, and now that his babies and his Alphas are asleep, he might actually get things done.
The room isn't always like that, but Christopher had an upset tummy for the past few days and all of them have been restless because of it. Even Saraphine threw a bigger fit than usual. His son had finally recovered this morning, and everyone has stopped being on edge.
He has the days coming to rest. For now, he needs to pick up the strewn clothes, put the freshly cleaned ones away, put the baby blankets in the laundry basket and grab new ones so his babies would be comfortable for the night, and tons of other things he needs to do before any of them wakes up.
It's half an hour later that Saraphine rouses awake, causing her father to wake up too, well attuned to her behaviour and needs.
"Alright?" Edward's voice is rough as he rubs a hand down Saraphine's back, looking down at her.
She blinks at him for a second, then rubs at her eye before her head plopped back to his chest at an awkward angle so she could stare at him while she yawns.
"Is she awake?" Louis asks from where he's standing, grabbing the basket full of used nappies.
Saraphine perks up at her mother's voice, easily finding him and her eyes widen. She makes a puffing sound, calling out to him.
"Yes, baby." Louis beams. "Had a good nap, didn't you?" He chuckles when she repeats the sound. "Be a good girl with your Papa, okay? Let me clean up for a moment."
She lets her head fall back on Edward's chest, getting comfortable.
"Do you need any help?" Edward calls out to his Omega.
"No. Just hold her." Louis replies distractedly. He disappears out of the door with the basket, heading off to send it to the Betas.
Edward feels movement beside him, and Saraphine lifts her head too. They watch as Marcel shifts onto his back, his green eyes appearing a moment after.
"What time's it?" The Alpha croaks, stretching out in his spot.
Saraphine makes a gurgling sound, scooting off of Edward's chest. Her father lets her move until she's plopped down onto Marcel's chest.
"Oof, hello Princess." Marcel chuckles, his hand coming up to stabilise her so she won't fall.
"It's almost five." Edward supplies, leaning forward and burying his face into Marcel's neck. "She just woke up. Probably would want to feed soon."
"Where's Lou?" Marcel stretches his neck to peek around the room.
"Cleaning."
Saraphine moves up Marcel's chest, her mouth opening wide before she tries to eat his nose. Her little palms slap to his cheeks so she could hold him still while she drools all over his face.
"What are you even doing, baby?" Marcel laughs, pulling her off of him.
She makes an upset sound, reaching out for his face again. When he won't let her, she starts whining.
"It's not clean, love." Marcel tells her, but her whining gets louder.
"Such a brat." Edward says, but he's so fond. "She's definitely Harry's."
"Don't be mean. She's not a brat." Marcel huffs, holding her up on his stomach while she finds something else to be interested in.
It happens to be her sleeping twin.
Saraphine gurgles again, drooling over everything as she reaches down for Christopher. She would have toppled down if Marcel wasn't holding her. The little girl has the nerves to giggle.
"Be careful, darling." Marcel reprimands gently, putting her down beside Christopher.
She immediately tries to eat her brother's face.
"Saraphine, no." Marcel laughs, tugging her off of his sleeping son. At his laughter, Saraphine looks up and giggles too.
"Jesus, how much cuter can she get?" Edward groans out, reaching over Marcel and lightly pinching her chubby cheek.
Her eyebrows are furrowed together, and her hand wildly slaps at his wrist.
"You've made her angry, Edward." Marcel pretends to widen his eyes.
Saraphine giggles again at the look on her Papa's face.
"Someone's in a good mood." Louis says, appearing from the door with an empty basket. He puts it back at the corner of the room, then makes his way towards the bed.
Edward smirks as Louis starts to climb on him. "Hello."
"Don't get any ideas, I'm just going for our babies." Louis digs his knee into Edward's stomach as he crawls over Marcel too.
"So mean now that you're a mother." Edward grunts out, rubbing over the sore spot once Louis settles beside the babies, Saraphine screaming in delight to see him.
Louis picks her up, giving Edward a smug look. "Of course. I'm always ready to attack." He smiles down at his daughter when she lifts up his shirt. "Impatient, just like your parents."
"Don't drag me into this." Edward complains with a dirty look.
"And you were always ready to attack even before the babies came along." Marcel points out, teasing Saraphine's little leg. She hums, kicking her feet out.
The Omega shrugs. "I suppose so."
"Our feisty little Omega."
"Not little."
"Right, our tiny Omega."
"Oi, fudge off."
Marcel and Edward start cackling at that.
"Not so feisty now, eh?" Edward leans back with a smug look.
"You're so cute, Lou."
Louis glares, turning his back on the Alphas with a huff.
Harry and Christopher continue to sleep in ignorance of their family.
---
"Harry, hurry up!" Louis yells up the stairs, his arms crossed as he waits for the response.
"Coming!" The Alpha shouts back.
A moment later, Harry appears at the top of the stairs and rushes down. He holds up the item that he was sent to grab, grinning when Louis looks relieved.
"Come on, we're going to be late." Louis takes his arm and they both rush away to the garage.
Louis takes the plush owl from Harry's hand the moment they get to the car, opening the door with his other hand. He peeks at Marcel in the back seat as he climbs into the middle row. "Is he okay?"
Marcel turns to the baby in the seat beside him, tucked in a baby carrier strapped in by the seat belt. Louis follows his sight. Christopher is quiet, but he looks so sad in there it makes Louis want to pout. "Did you get it?" The Alpha asks.
"Yeah, it's here." Louis hands him the owl, and Marcel quickly places it beside Christopher in the carrier.
The baby brightens up completely upon having his plush companion. He starts cooing and bringing it close to his chest, babbling with a frown as if scolding the owl for not being there with him.
"How are you so precious, baby boy?" Louis sighs, leaning over the space in between the seats to pepper Christopher with kisses that makes the little boy giggle.
"Lou, please sit down." Edward says from the driver seat while Harry settles in beside him. "We're late."
"They'll deal." Louis presses one last kiss to Christopher's forehead before he turns around to check on Saraphine. Her eyes are droopy, and she has her dolphin clutched to her side. "Okay, the babies are secured."
Edward glares at him through the rear view mirror. "Yes, you're the only one not buckled in."
"On it, on it." Louis says, waving his hand as he tugs on the seat belt. The moment he's in his seat, the car goes into motion.
The sky is clear today, bright blue and there's not a single cloud in sight. It's a beautiful day, perfect for their plan to have a picnic. They've promised to meet up with Niall and his family in Hyde Park, and they're already late by ten minutes.
Louis doesn't really mind because he's certain the Malik-Payne clan would understand, especially since they've got older kids in their hands. It won't surprise anyone if they're not on time, either.
"I forgot my aviators." Harry complains.
"You have an extra one in the dashboard." Edward reminds him, as he always does. He's the one who keeps putting one in there because he knows Harry always forgets.
The happy sound Harry makes upon finding the aviators causes the rest of the adult occupants in the car to roll their eyes. Harry's acting as if this is not a recurring event.
Once they've arrived and are parked, Louis decides to give Niall a call while his Alphas pull out the stroller from the boot. He watches as Harry easily unfolds the stroller with one hand, handing it over to Marcel who puts the carrier on the stroller frame, locking it in place. Edward is pulling Christopher's carrier out from the back seat, waiting for Marcel to push the stroller towards him before securing it next to Saraphine's. Then he grabs the picnic basket Harry holds out to him.
Louis should stop being surprised that he finds everything his Alphas do is hot.
"Hey, Lou." Niall's voice in his ear reminds him of the matter at hand.
"Hey, we just got here. Sorry about that."
"Don't mind it. We're just setting up here too." Niall tells him.
"Alright, see you."
Louis turns back to his family once he's pocketed his phone. "Ready?"
"Yeah, let's go!" Harry chirps, already pushing the stroller forward.
An arm falls over his shoulder as Louis is just about to follow the Alpha. He looks up to see Edward and smiles, snuggling closer as they trail behind Harry and Marcel.
It takes them ten minutes to eventually reach the spot where Niall's family has set up the picnic mat. Hana and Haziq are chasing each other with Zayn supervising them while Liam hangs by not far from them, a giggling Heather attached to his leg.
Harry speeds up the moment he sees them, Marcel hot on his heels with a reprimand for being hasty.
"Lou!" Niall calls out, waving from the picnic mat.
Louis beams as he nears, letting Edward's arm fall from around his shoulder as he catches up with Harry and Marcel. Harry parks the stroller beside the picnic mat, making sure it's not rolling away when he releases it before he unlocks Christopher's carrier and passes it to Marcel. Meanwhile, Louis takes the picnic basket from Edward and sets it down in front of Niall.
"Did you bring them?" His friend asks excitedly.
Louis waves his hand. "Yeah, yeah. We have your pastry, Niall." He opens the basket and grabs a Tupperware from inside.
"Yes!" Niall cheers, snatching it from his friend and peeling it open. He takes one of the cherry puffs and shoves it into his mouth, quickly following it up with another one.
Marcel who is settling down beside Niall cringes at the speed he is wolfing it down. "Whoa, slow down."
Niall cackles. "Sorry, it's been a while since I've had this. Couldn't find it anywhere. They just don't taste the same."
"We've brought a lot, you could take some of them home." Harry informs him with dimpled cheeks, proud that someone likes his pastry so much.
Louis looks around to find where Edward has gone to. The Alpha apparently disappeared to go to Zayn and the kids. He's walking back with Haziq on his shoulders and Hana hot on his heels, all of them laughing while Zayn follows at a more sedated pace, but amused nonetheless.
"So, how are my little babies today?" Niall asks as he puts the Tupperware down, he's had enough to satisfy his craving for now. He climbs over Marcel to be able to peek at Saraphine and Christopher in their carriers. The babies light up upon seeing him, chubby hands reaching up towards his face. "Ah, they missed me!"
Louis giggles, then yelps in surprise when someone jumps onto his back. "Oh God!"
Hana breaks out into delighted squeals at his reaction. "Got you, Uncle Lou!"
"Yes you did, you little monster." Louis pokes her side. "Would you give me a hug?"
"Yeay!" She throws herself into his arms in excitement. "Can we go see swans, Uncle Lou?"
"Swans! Swans!" Haziq cheers, his little legs flailing as Edward is putting him down, and he barrels right into Louis and his sister. "Swans!"
"Okay, okay. We can go see swans later. But let's eat first." Louis tells them, laughing as Haziq's arms wrap tightly around his neck in his attempt to hug him.
"Okay." They chorus.
Haziq turns around, and when his eyes land on Liam, he raises his hands. "Papa, I want sandwich!"
"He's in a phase. He won't eat unless Liam is feeding him." Niall tells them when they look perplexed at the request considering Liam is not even on the picnic mat or standing anywhere near it. He's still a few metres away with Heather.
Liam seems to hear the boy though, and he scoops Heather into his arms and walks back towards them. "A sandwich?" He confirms the moment he reaches the group.
"Sandwich!" comes Haziq's enthusiastic reply.
"What would you like to eat, Lou?" Edward asks, studying the amount of food they have in front of them.
Louis hums. "I think I'm going to feed the babies first. You go on."
"I'm helping!" Niall announces from where he's seated with Saraphine on his lap, gnawing at her plush toy.
It's calm as they settle down on the mat, Zayn helping Hana get her plate while Liam is patiently feeding Haziq his sandwich. The little boy shows his gratitude by pecking his father's cheek after every bite, leaving a mess on the Alpha's skin. The lack of reaction from Liam says this is a normal thing.
Marcel has Harry seated between his legs, leaning into his chest while they both enjoy the fruit stick Niall's brought.
Edward is munching on the sandwiches too, enjoying the air and the little rays of sunlight that beam upon them. Heather is plopped down next to him, drenching her shirt with the watermelon she's devouring.
"Niall, hold her still!" Louis scolds when he almost shoves baby food up his daughter's nose.
"Oops, sorry!" He quickly shifts until she's comfortable and still. "There."
Louis takes a moment to peek at Christopher. He's entertaining himself staring at the birds in the sky, giggling to himself every now and then. Satisfied that his son is okay, he turns back to feed his daughter again.
Once all of them are fully fed and content, Hana and Haziq bring up their demand to see the swans.
"Okay, let's go see the swans, Niall." Louis nudges his friend as he grows to his feet.
The kids are already bouncing up and down on their feet, impatient as they wait for the adults to make a move.
"Wait, let me just grab the grains to feed them with." Niall mutters, digging into one of the bags. "Hana, Haziq, don't forget the grains!"
"Grains, grains!" Haziq parrots as he and his sister run back towards their mum, grabbing the small packets he hands out before they're back to bouncing all over the place.
The Omegas keep their eyes on the kids while they're heading to the pond, letting the excited shrieks Hana and Haziq share fill the air while they chase each other.
They take a seat on a bench, close to the pond so the children could play near the bank in their line of sight. They're still close enough in case anything happens.
"Hey Lou."
"Yeah?"
Niall turns to him. "Do you think we should go on a summer trip together?"
"That'd be brilliant." Louis' eyes widen. "We could rent a beach house or something."
"Yeah, I've been thinking about it. It's been a while since we went on a proper vacation, and I thought it'd be better if we're all there. Your babies are old enough for travel."
"I'll definitely talk about it with my Alphas." Louis agrees. The thought of it already excites him. "Hey, what helped when your kids were teething? Christopher's teething now, and he has trouble sleeping at night, all he does is cry."
Niall's face twists with concern. "Poor thing. I usually give them cold fruits. Internet said it helps. But I remember the only thing Heather wanted was to chew on my finger. Nothing else comforted her." He shakes his head at the memory.
Louis laughs. "I think Christopher is content with his toy for now, thank God."
"What about Saraphine? Is she teething too?"
"Yeah, she has another one at the back. It just appeared out of nowhere. I think she's been going through it but it didn't bother her as much. Not like Christopher." Louis frowns, not liking the idea of his baby being in pain.
"It won't be for long. You should try one of the tips they put on the internet." Niall stills as he turns to the kids again. "Haziq, no going into the water, please!"
"Sorry, Mummy!" He calls back, quick to forsake his idea of trying to cuddle the swans and returning to his sister's side.
Louis smiles. "Hey, Ni. Let's go and watch a movie next week."
"Why, Tomlinson, I am a mated man."
Ignoring Niall's sputter as he elbows his friend's side, Louis glares at him. "Come on, Ni. I'm serious."
"Yeah, sure. There's this movie Heather would love." Niall responds, rubbing the spot Louis just abused.
"What? No! Why would Heather be there?" Louis narrows his eyes.
Niall looks confused. "Where would she be then?"
"At home?" He rolls his eyes. "A movie, just us. No Alphas, no kids. We can make it a day to ourselves."
"Sounds good." Niall rubs his chin. "You got me, Tommo. I want to play go-kart too."
"Only if you're ready to lose."
"Oh, it's on."
They both burst into laughter, only for it to be cut short when Haziq comes running towards them drenched from head to toe.
"Oh, Haziq." Niall sighs.
---
"Mmmma!"
Louis pauses, his head snapping to Saraphine with his eyes widened. She giggles at his reaction. "What did you say?" He whispers in disbelief. "Baby, what did you say?"
"I heard it too." Edward says from the armchair, his phone abandoned as he stares unblinking at their daughter. "Could you say it again, Saraphine?"
Smile falling from her face when none of her parents are smiling back, she starts to frown. "Ma! Ma!" Her tiny palm slaps onto the carpet, upset.
"Oh God." His vision blurs as his eyes start welling up. "Oh my God." He turns to Edward, both of them speechless. Then Edward is scrambling for his phone and opening the camera app.
"Harry! Marcel!" The Alpha calls out, not wanting his brothers to miss this moment.
"Oh God." Louis turns back to Saraphine.
"What's going on?" Marcel rushes into the nursery, Harry behind him. Both of them are wearing a worried frown.
"She just said her first wor-." Louis' voice cuts off, too thick with emotion.
"Ma! Ma!" Saraphine starts crying upon seeing her mother crying, her arms flapping in front of her as she asks to be picked up.
"Oh my God." Both Harry and Marcel gasp.
Louis grabs his daughter into his arms, pulling her close. Both of them are still crying, and he laughs wetly at the situation.
Seeing them crying causes Christopher to start wailing too, trying to climb up Louis' thighs. "Ma ma ma ma." He babbles, trying to nuzzle into Louis' stomach.
"Holy Hell!"
"Edward!" Marcel scolds.
"Lou." Harry chuckles as he kneels in front of the Omega, but his eyes are wet too. "You have to stop crying or they will keep crying too."
Louis has his children in both of his arms, pulling them close and taking a deep breath. "Harry, pinch me."
"What?"
He feels a little lightheaded, wondering if he's dreaming. Having this much emotion feels unreal. It's too much for him to contain. "Pinch me."
"Do it." Edward tells his brother.
Harry looks to Marcel, perplexed. When Marcel gives the same reaction, Harry turns back to Louis looking even more confused. But he does what he's asked, pinching Louis hard enough to hurt.
"Ow!" Louis winces, blinking rapidly. "Not dreaming. Fuck, I'm not dreaming."
"Louis, don't curse-"
"Mammmma!" Saraphine cries out, her little hand grabbing at his cheek and nose as she tries to get his attention.
Louis kisses her forehead. "Yes, baby. I'm your mummy." He nods as he turns to Christopher, his chest still feeling like it's about to burst. The boy is quiet now, but his cheeks are still wet and he's sniffing. "You're both so brilliant. I'm proud to be your mummy."
"Ma." Christopher mumbles, head leaning on Louis' shoulder.
The Omega giggles to himself when Saraphine does the same.
"So, when's our turn?" Edward asks, putting his phone down. "Can you say Pa?"
Louis grins at his Alphas. "Gotta be patient, Papa."
"Did you get the video of them?" Harry reaches for the phone.
Edward passes it over to him with a nod. "Along with the snot and tears and all." He shoots a teasing look at Louis.
"Hey, I have the right to be emotional, okay? My babies acknowledge me as their mum." Louis points his tongue out.
Sighing, Edward climbs down the armchair and onto the floor, taking Christopher from Louis and cradling the baby to his chest. "Come on, Christopher, I have been wounded by your lack of acknowledgement, cuddle me to comfort me."
"Mammm mamm." Christopher babbles, grabbing at the flesh on his collarbone.
"Oh boy, it's time to trim those nails of yours." Edward makes a face.
Louis is content to sit back and let Saraphine gnaw on his shirt, all the while watching as Harry and Marcel coo and laugh at the video Edward just took.
He's never going to get used to this.
---
Two years later.
The twins are playing with Harry, seated on the floor in the lounge with a whole train set in the middle of their little circle.
Saraphine is clapping her hands as the train follows the rails they've formed together while Christopher is busy planning the next shape their circuit is going to be, scrawling lines and vague shapes onto the paper with his crayon while their father watches them both with love and fondness.
"Papa!" Saraphine suddenly calls out to the doorway, making Harry raise his head. No one is standing there, but Edward or Marcel must have passed by.
"Edward?" Harry tries.
There is a pause, and then Marcel appears. "It's me."
"Papa!" Saraphine shrieks happily, tiny feet pattering on the floor as she runs towards him.
"Papa!" Christopher drops the crayon and paper in favour of his father too.
Marcel chuckles as he scoops them both up in his arms. "Hey." He greets, pecking their cheeks. "What were you doing?"
"Choo choo!" Christopher crows, cupping his hands over his mouth. "Papa help us!"
"Choo choo!" Saraphine agrees, hugging Marcel's neck.
Marcel raises his eyebrows at his brother. Harry shrugs from the floor, uncaring that he's the only one playing with the train now. "Really? What's it called?"
"Train! Train Chrissy and Sara!" Christopher pats his chest with his hands. "We send goals!"
"Coals." Marcel corrects with a kiss pressed to the side of Christopher's head. "Good job, Christopher."
"Papa play with us?" Saraphine asks, pressing her hands to his cheeks so he would look at her.
Marcel pretends to bite her hand and she breaks out into delighted shrieks. Marcel shakes his head. "Not right now, baby. I have to go help your Mummy."
"When play?" Christopher wraps his arms around his chest, trying to cross his arms like he's seen his parents do but failing adorably. The little pout on his face makes Marcel want to start a war.
"Tonight. I promise."
"Play tiger?" Saraphine asks.
"Ride tiger!" Christopher makes a pathetic attempt at roaring, one that makes Saraphine laugh. "I'm a tiger, Sara!"
"Chrissy tiger weird!" She points out, still cackling.
"Papa, Sara mean!"
"Yeah, why don't we hear you do it then, Saraphine?" Marcel prompts.
She nods. Then she tries to roar, sounding almost similar to Christopher himself. The boy bursts into laughter.
Even Harry snorts at that.
"Oh, Papa Harry thinks it's so funny." Marcel watches his brother with a gleam in his eyes. "Let's hear his roar. If it's weird, we tickle him."
"Hey!" Harry protests.
"Roar, Harry." Marcel instructs as he bends down to place the children back on their feet. The twins are watching Harry with eager eyes now, causing the Alpha to sigh.
"You're mean." He tells Marcel. Then he makes the best roar he can.
It's quiet for a moment, then Saraphine and Christopher start to cheer.
"Tiger! Tiger!" They run over to Harry, smothering him.
Marcel chuckles as Harry falls back with the twins sitting on his torso. They are patting at his face now, trying to see how he did it and it must be because there's something on Papa Harry's face.
"There are three powerful tigers." Marcel narrates, moving into a ready stance. "But can they survive, against the TICKLE MONSTER?"
The twins are torn between shrieking and laughing as Marcel charges at them, Harry shouting as he scrambles to collect them both while trying to run away at the same time.
When an upset Louis comes into the lounge looking for Marcel later on, he forgets what he's upset about upon finding Harry on the floor choking in laughter as Marcel tickles him while the twins cheer from the side.
"Another Tickle Monster arrives!" Louis announces, scooping Saraphine up and carrying her away, an easy feat when they haven't been expecting him. "He gets a victim!"
"Oh no!! Chrissy save me! Help!" Saraphine giggles, pretending to reach out to Christopher over Louis' shoulder.
Edward must have heard the commotion, because he appears at the doorway confused and taken aback.
Christopher is chasing after Louis now, trying to get his sister back. "Put Sara down, Tickle Monster! Chrissy feat you!"
"You can't defeat me!" Louis lets out a fake maniacal laughter.
"He can't." Edward agrees, stepping further into the room. When Louis pauses to look at him, the Alpha smirks. "But I can."
"Papa!" Christopher jumps on the spot in excitement at his backup.
When everything gets louder in the lounge, the Betas only smile upon hearing the noise of a happy family.
---
Louis turns, and it's like watching it in slow motion.
Saraphine and Christopher are playing with their toys, most of them scattered around them. Saraphine is dragging her firetruck forward and backwards, her tiny feet pattering on the floor every time she moves. She doesn't notice when she gets too close to her brother who's seated on the floor with his legs stretched out. The moment she accidentally steps on his tiny calf makes Louis feel like a pause button has been pressed, and then she's stumbling back.
"Uh oh!" She cries out in alarm as she topples onto the carpet while Christopher's eyes widen.
Louis cringes to himself. Then he takes a deep breath and watches as Saraphine scrambles to right herself.
"Chrissy! Okay?" She's shouting, probably panicked that she hurt her brother. In any other moment he would've laughed at the expression on her face, but he's still waiting for his son's reaction.
Christopher's eyes are red and he's sniffling. "Sara, hurt." He points to his leg as if it's an alien limb, his voice tiny.
"Sara sorry!" She sounds devastated, shuffling close to him as she starts to cry too. "Sara fell. Sorry! Sara love Chrissy!"
Louis smiles to himself, leaving his spot on the sofa and walking over to where his children are cuddled together and crying softly. "Hey peanuts." He murmurs, sitting down in front of them. "Are you okay, baby?" His arm is extended towards Christopher's leg, and he meets the little boy's eyes. "Can Mummy take a look at your leg?"
Christopher's cheeks are wet now but he nods. "Hurts, Mummy."
Louis is gentle as he finally grips his son and inspects the spot Saraphine accidentally stepped on. It's a little red, but he doesn't think it's anything serious. "We can rub some balm on it, okay?"
Christopher sniffs, wiping his cheek with his sleeve. He looks at his own leg, blinking for a few seconds. Then he turns to his sister and pouts. "Sara kiss it better."
Louis hides his amusement into his shoulder. Clearing his throat, he turns to his daughter. "Could you kiss it better, Saraphine?"
"Sara can!" She nods vigorously as she wipes her tears away in furious swipes before leaning down and pecking the spot Christopher pointed at. "There! Better!" She announces proudly with a beam.
Christopher is starting to smile. "Mummy kiss too?"
"Of course, darling." He gently lifts the leg up, pressing a brief kiss to his injury. "There, all good. Nothing better than the power of love huh, peanut?" He teases.
"Love Mummy!" Christopher is quick to agree.
"Sara love Mummy too!" She protests, not wanting to be left out. Then she throws her arms around her brother. "Love Chrissy too."
"Love Sara too." He hugs her back, both of them still not entirely in control of their limbs that the hug is sloppy and awkward but it's the cutest thing Louis has ever seen.
"I love you Christopher. I love you Saraphine." He looks at each of his children as he says that, patting their heads. "I love you forever."
"We love Mummy ever!" They chorus, letting go of each other to pounce on him.
Giggles ring through the whole floor.
---
"Harry, stop crying." Marcel frowns.
"I can't. It's their first day of school." Harry sounds just about a second away from a breakdown.
Edward sighs as he pulls Harry to him so his brother could hide his face in his shoulder. "There, there. They'll be fine."
"I know they will." Comes his muffled reply. "But will we?"
Louis rolls his eyes at that. "Harry, we'll be fine."
"It's just for a few hours." Edward adds.
"We'll do something to take your mind off it, okay?" Louis offers. "Let's watch a movie later."
"Yeah." Marcel agrees. "Now pull yourself together and don't let them see you cry."
Harry takes a deep breath, wiping at his face before he fixes his shirt and tries to pretend he wasn't crying. "I'm okay."
"Good, cause here they come." Louis nods to the two kids on short legs bounding over towards them.
"Mummy!" They call, leaping into his arms when he crouches down to their level.
"Hey peanuts." He kisses their cheeks. "Are you excited?"
"Yeah!" Christopher tells him, eyes wide. "We meet many friends!"
"Teacher says we say goodbye now." Saraphine frowns. "Mummy leaving?"
"Yeah, Mummy is leaving." He cups her cheek. "But I will be back to pick you up later at three, okay? I promise."
"Promise?" Christopher asks when he realises that they're going to be left here. "Not leave ever?"
Chuckling, Louis shakes his head. "Not forever, baby. I will miss you too much." He fixes Christopher's collar and straightens Saraphine's shirt. "Would you promise to behave? We can cuddle and have ice cream when we go home later."
"Okay, Mummy be back at three!" Saraphine nods to herself. "Papa too?"
"Yes, peanut. We'll be here to pick you up too." Marcel confirms with a small smile.
"Okay." Christopher grins, assured. "Can Mummy take Lolo?"
Louis sighs, thinking of the plush owl Christopher hasn't managed to part with. "Okay, I'll bring Lolo when I pick you up."
"Sara wants Fifi too!" Saraphine's eyebrows knit together as she demands her dolphin too.
"Yes, Lolo and Fifi will be here with us later. Anything else?" He cocks an eyebrow, amused now.
"No." They shake their heads.
"Okay, do you wanna hug and kiss Mummy before you go?" Louis opens his arms again.
They giggle as they hug him tight, both of them pressing a lingering, sloppy kiss on his cheeks.
"I love you Saraphine, I love you Christopher. I love you forever." Louis taps their noses before growing back to his feet.
"We love you forever, Mummy." They chorus back.
Saraphine turns to her Papas and jumps on the spot, holding her arms wide. "Hug and kiss Papa too!"
Harry who's started sniffing again is the first to scoop them up into his embrace.
"Got your Papa all emotional, love." Louis says from the side when Saraphine and Christopher's face fall the moment they detect that their Papa is sad. "He will miss you when you're at school."
"We miss you too, Papa." Saraphine tells him, hugging him back tightly. "We go home at three!"
Harry laughs wetly. "Yeah, I'll just wait patiently for you to be back, okay?"
"No crying, Papa." Christopher wipes at his cheeks. "Ugly."
Louis bursts out laughing at that, Edward and Marcel choking behind him. "Baby, it's not nice to call your Papa ugly."
"Sorry, Papa. Chrissy love you, okay?" He cups both of Harry's cheeks and kisses his father's nose. "We eat ice cream after."
"Okay." Harry nods. "I love you too."
"Sara too!" Saraphine taps his cheek until he turns to her so she could kiss his nose too. "Sara love Papa."
"And I love you." Harry nods with a small smile.
After kissing and hugging Edward and Marcel with much less drama, the twins finally start to make their way back to the building like the rest of the kids are doing. Their little bags bounce up and down as they rush to the entrance.
The two turn around once they're there, waving at their parents happily. "Bye, Mummy! Bye, Papa!"
"Have fun!" Louis waves back. Happiness and dread sit heavily in his chest, fighting to take over each other, but he feels settled. The kids will be alright.
They stand there until the door closes.
Louis turns back to look at his Alphas, letting out a relieved breath now that they got that over with without too much trouble. Then his eyes stop on Harry. "You're going to start crying again the moment we're in the car, aren't you?"
Edward and Marcel smile when Harry just hums in response.
---
The house is so quiet. It makes Louis wonder where his family is. He's been so caught up in the book he was reading that he never realised when his Alphas left the room. Even as he listens intently, he can't hear any excited chatter of Saraphine or Christopher.
Putting his book down, Louis grabs his phone to see if any of his Alphas said anything about taking the children out. That sounds unlikely since it's already quite late, but the Alphas can be unexpected sometimes when it comes to spoiling their kids with a late night drive. Tomorrow is a Saturday, after all.
When there's nothing but his lockscreen staring back at him - a selfie of Christopher and Saraphine together - he huffs and sets out to find them.
He starts with the twins' room. It was transformed from the nursery and gone are all their baby stuff. Instead, the furniture are kept in the store room for future use. The room now holds two single beds at opposite sides of the room, a study table on each side of the twins' as well as a wardrobe for them. There are some toys on the floor and clothes on the bed, but other than that the room is fairly clean. It's also empty of any child.
Louis tries the lounge on the top floor, but it's still empty. He goes down a floor, wondering if he'd find them then.
Low voices greet his ear as he's on the way to the lounge area, painting a smile on his face at finally finding his family.
Stopping at the threshold, Louis leans against the doorway and watches quietly.
Saraphine and Christopher are doing their homework, some of their books opened on the coffee table. They have an Alpha each at their side, Harry helping Saraphine while Marcel is helping Christopher. It seems that they're doing Mathematics, if the way Saraphine is counting on her finger and the confusion on Christopher's face is anything to go by.
The sight is so cute that he can't resist taking his phone out and taking some photos. It warms his heart so much to see the whole domesticity of it all.
Jumping when a pair of arms circles his waist, Louis almost drops his phone. "Edward." He scolds, pressing a hand to his chest to calm his racing heartbeat.
"Sorry." He chuckles in Louis' ear.
They fall quiet then, just watching Marcel as he corrects Christopher again when he makes a mistake, the boy looking so frustrated with himself. Louis makes a mental note to make them some hot chocolate once they're done.
Edward nuzzles into his neck, his hands roaming until they rest low on Louis' stomach. "So.." He murmurs the word into Louis' skin, grazing a spot with his teeth and grinning when the Omega shudders. "Saraphine and Christopher are five this year."
"I'm aware." Louis responds. "What do you think we should do for their birthday?" He asks, biting his lip as he tries to hide a smile. He knows what Edward is trying to bring up, but it's fun to tease his Alpha.
"It's only March." Edward reminds him. "November is still a long time away."
"You say that, and the next thing we know, it's their tenth birthday." Louis sighs, pouting as he thinks about it.
"Like I said, they're five this year." Edward starts again. "Do you think we're ready for more babies?"
Harry and Marcel look up at that, meeting Louis' eyes with obvious curiosity as they wait for his response.
The Omega hums, leaning back into Edward's embrace as he pretends to think long and hard about it. "I don't know. You tell me." He replies, voice full of mirth.
The Alphas sigh collectively.
"Papa, I think I did it wrong." Saraphine is patting at Harry's arm as she pokes the book in front of her.
Harry frowns, but he turns back to help her.
Louis chuckles at that, gently tugging at Edward's wrists until he releases him. "I'll stop my birth control, and we can try when my heat comes." Is all he says before he makes his way to the pantry. Hot chocolates for his babies, yes.
He's almost there when he hears the loud shout.
"Yes!!"
Immediately, Saraphine's voice follows. "Papa, we're doing homework!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, baby."
Giggling to himself, Louis continues into the pantry, pulling open the cupboard and grabbing two mugs.
When he returns with the hot chocolates, the books are closed and stacked up on the edge of the table while his children are cuddling with their Papas. "Done with the homework?" He asks as he stands in front of them.
"Yeah. We did it!" Christopher pumps a fist up.
"Congratulations. Good work, babies." Louis holds the mugs out. "Here, hot chocolate for you."
Saraphine makes grabby hands for it, squealing quietly in excitement when she has it in her grip. She carefully scoots back into Edward's side before looking back at Louis. "Thank you, Mummy!"
"Thank you Mummy!" Christopher aborts his sip to echo his sister before he downs a quarter of the drink.
"Slow down, Christopher." Louis reminds him, climbing into Marcel's lap since he's the only one without a child tucked in next to him.
"It's so good, Mummy." Christopher blinks innocently at him.
"Yeah, yeah. You love anything I make." Louis playfully rolls his eyes.
Saraphine giggles. "Mummy, could you make us pancakes tomorrow? It's soooo good."
Louis gives them an unimpressed face. "Which one of your Papas taught you this disrespect?"
The children burst out laughing, loud and unashamed while Edward turns his face away to hide his smile. Harry and Marcel pretend they weren't listening.
"I know my pancakes are ugly, but it's not bad!" Louis huffs, crossing his arms.
Harry snorts at that.
"Oi, you have anything to say, Styles? Say it to my face." Louis points a finger at him, making his children crack up even more.
Harry holds his hands up. "I wasn't about to say anything, babe."
"I'm not making anything for you ever again." Louis says with feigned annoyance.
"No, Mummy!" Christopher pouts. "You make the best pasta."
"Yeah, Mummy's pasta is the best!" Saraphine agrees.
"Okay, what if you two help me tomorrow, and we can make apple pie?" Louis offers. "Do we have a deal?"
"Deal!"
"Good. Now finish your hot chocolate. It's almost time for bed." Louis looks at the clock and nods to himself.
They empty the mugs, then smack their lips before hopping off the sofa to leave and put the mugs back in the pantry. Louis watches them go with a soft look.
"Not dreaming." Marcel tells him, lightly pinching his hip.
"Yeah." Louis turns to him, gazing into his eyes before settling down. "Not dreaming."
By the time Louis goes to the twins' room later on, they're already in bed with their blankets pulled up to their chests. His Alphas are right behind him, studying the room to make sure it's clean with no toy scattered on the floor. That's what they do every night; make sure the twins pick up their toys and put away their dirty clothes before they go to sleep.
Louis goes to sit on the edge of Saraphine's bed, brushing her hair back and kissing her forehead. "Goodnight, Saraphine. I love you forever."
She blinks up at him with heavy eyes. "Goodnight Mummy, I love you forever too."
He kisses her forehead again, then gets up so his Alphas could wish their daughter goodnight too while he sits down on Christopher's bed. "Hey peanut." He smiles.
"Mummy, can I get a hug?" Christopher asks in a small voice.
"Of course, baby. Come here." Louis opens his arms, and Christopher wastes no time jumping into it. "Hey, what's wrong?"
Christopher shakes his head, but he clutches quietly onto him, as if he doesn't want to let go.
"You know you can tell me anything, poppet." Louis rubs his back, staying calm even if he's dying to know what's making his baby upset. He waits, knowing Christopher would tell him if he wants to.
"Mummy, you said you love us forever. But if you get new baby, then would you still love us forever then?" Christopher mumbles into his neck, his arms tightening around Louis.
Shocked at where such a question is coming from, Louis takes his time formulating a reply as he turns back to look at his Alphas who look equally perplexed. "Christopher, baby, look at me."
The boy allows his hold to loosen enough until Louis can gently push him back to look at him in the eye. Louis can hear the Alphas walking over towards them, and it's confirmed when one of them places a comforting arm on his shoulder.
"Listen to me, baby." Louis starts. "Your Papas and I love you so much. I tell you this all the time, and I mean it; I love you forever. We'll love you forever. Nothing will ever change that."
Christopher nods, but he still doesn't look comforted.
"I'm not having another baby right now, not yet." Louis smiles. "But maybe soon. And even when the baby, or babies, get here, our love for you won't ever change."
"Why do you think we would stop loving you if a new baby comes?" Edward wonders, curious.
Christopher thinks about it for a moment. "Because Mummy loves us now, but when baby comes, Mummy love the baby. No love for us anymore."
Louis ducks to hide his smile. "Christopher, my darling." He exhales, amazed at how much his son endears him. "That's not how love works."
"There's always enough love for everyone." Harry says, grinning. "Love is infinite. You can love someone so much, and love someone else the same amount, even more."
"Yeah." Marcel chuckles. "Do you love your Mummy?"
Christopher nods. "Love Mummy the most."
"Do you also love your Papas?"
"So much." Christopher opens his arms as wide as he can. "This much."
Amused, Marcel leans forward and ruffles his hair. "What about Saraphine?"
"I love Sara a lot." Christopher glances at her. The girl is fast asleep now, dead to the world.
"See? You can love so many people." Edward taps his little nose. "Your Mummy will never run out of love for you, doesn't matter how many people he gives it to. And neither will we."
"So, when baby come, Mummy and Papa love Chrissy and Sara forever too?"
Louis nods. "Forever."
Satisfied, Christopher lies back down and pulls the blanket up. "When baby come, Mummy?" He asks through a yawn, rubbing at his eye.
"Yeah, Mummy, when does baby come?" Edward shoots Louis an expectant look.
"Baby comes when they want." Louis tells Christopher, pointing a tongue out at his Alpha when his son isn't looking. "There isn't any baby yet in Mummy's tummy, but I'll let you know when there is, okay?"
Christopher doesn't look like he understands, but he nods. "Okay."
"Go to sleep." Louis pecks his forehead. "Goodnight Christopher, we love you forever."
"Love Mummy and Papa forever too."
They turn the lights off as they leave the room, and Louis yelps when he's scooped up into a pair of strong arms the moment the door closes behind them. Harry grins cheekily at him while they make their way back to their room.
Louis giggles when Harry deposits him onto the bed. "No funny business." He warns when Harry leans in to kiss him. "I have to wake up early tomorrow."
"Cockblocker." Edward grumbles.
"Tomorrow night." Louis tells them, letting Harry kiss him once before he lies down and yawns. "I'm too knackered tonight, anyway."
"Want a foot rub?" Marcel offers, already climbing into bed.
"Hm, sure. You need practise for when you get me pregnant again." Louis wriggles his toes.
"Have you made up your mind?" Edward asks, taking his shirt off. He hangs it on the back of his armchair before he joins the rest of them in bed. "You don't have to say yes just because we want it."
Louis makes a dismissive sound. "You're right. They're five this year. It's time." He sighs. "Besides, I'm starting to miss having a baby in the house."
"Harry's been making a list of names, you know?" Marcel chuckles as he starts with working on Louis' feet.
Harry makes a betrayed sound. "Just for future reference!" He throws Marcel a dirty glare.
"A prepared man. I might be in love." Louis says, winking when Harry looks at him. "Are you going to let me take a look?"
"Maybe." Harry shrugs. "We should choose the baby name together this time."
"I agree. It might be interesting to see what we come out with." Edward nods, grabbing his phone. "I guess I'll start looking too, then."
"I'm not even pregnant yet." Louis rolls his eyes. "But you can't say I'm not keeping up with you. I have three names that I love."
Marcel's eyes widen. "Am I the only one left behind for this?"
"Don't worry, Marcy. I haven't got a name yet, either." Edward reminds him, waving his phone to emphasise his point.
Louis scoots down the bed until he can climb into Marcel's lap, straddling him and attacking his lips. "Hmm, I think I changed my mind. Should we practise for my heat?"
"Thought you'd have to wake up early tomorrow?"
"I'll set an alarm." Louis pulls his shirt off.
The effect is instantaneous. Edward tosses his phone, not caring where it ends up, while Marcel starts attacking the Omega's collarbones right away. Harry is the only sensible one at the moment, heading back to their door to check if it's locked. They would never know if any of the twins would randomly wake up and come looking for them.
Louis sleeps through his alarm the next morning.
---
A month after his heat, Louis sits on the floor with a pregnancy test in front of him. He had been feeling weird all week, having headaches at random times of the day, and getting nauseous at the most random smell. At first he didn't really think of the possibility of him being pregnant, too caught up with entertaining his kids now that they're on their summer break. He had a piano tutor hired for Christopher at the boy's request, him not wanting his lessons to be put on hold even when school is out. Saraphine also recently asked for a tutor for her violin lessons since she gets bored whenever Christopher is having his piano classes. Louis is also planning for things to do every day for his kids so they would get some stimulation and learn too on top of playing. It's always something fun and he's always involved with their activities, so the twins always look forward to it.
The thought of pregnancy only came to his mind when he realised he's eating more beef, something he rarely did except when he was carrying.
He didn't bring it up right away, wanting to be sure before he talked to his Alphas about it. Despite their enthusiasm during his heat, they didn't really touch the topic much after that, figuring that they did their part and it'll happen if it's meant to be. Louis didn't want to put all of their hopes up, so he sat back and waited for a few more days.
When he started feeling faint and more tired, it added up to his certainty.
Louis choked on his tea two days after that, and his Alphas panicked. Marcel was patting at his back as if that helped while Harry grabbed a towel to wipe away whatever that was spilled. Edward was the only one who stared at the Omega with his eyebrows furrowed together. "What's wrong with your tea?" He had asked.
"Funny." Louis coughed, squirming so Marcel and Harry would stop fussing over him. "I think I'm pregnant."
"Did the tea tell you that?" Marcel had frowned.
Louis made a face. "I drink tea with sugar when I'm pregnant." Louis pressed his lips together as he waited for the Alphas to absorb this.
Edward said nothing, then he disappeared into the closet. Instead of coming out with what he was wearing before, a t-shirt and shorts, he reappeared with a pair of joggers instead. "Harry, come with me."
"Where are we going?" Harry went to change too, brushing his hair back when he came back out with slacks and a proper shirt.
"How many?" Edward turned to Louis.
The Omega shrugged. "Just one should be enough."
Marcel stayed with him while the two were gone, and an hour later they were back with a pregnancy kit in hand.
Which brought all of them to this moment; sitting in a circle while the pregnancy test is laying face down on the floor in front of them. None of them has said a word after Louis came out of the bathroom with the test and they've set the timer. The Alphas are waiting patiently for the alarm to signal the twenty minute mark, more than Louis is, but they haven't stopped staring at it as if doing that would speed up the process.
There's a part of him that doesn't really mind what the result is. He's already so happy to have his Alphas with him, waiting for the result of the pregnancy test together. His emotions are so insistent at pushing his lips wide across his face, and he hugs his knees to his chest to hide the smile. Another part of him says it doesn't matter what the test says because he knows that he's pregnant. His tea doesn't lie to him.
The shrill sound of the alarm sends all of them jumping in shock, and Marcel rushes to turn it off.
Louis looks at each of his Alphas in the eyes, studying them. Edward looks impatient, wanting to know what the result is already. There's a bit of worry on the lines on his face that says he's afraid if the result doesn't give them what they want.
Harry looks ready to vibrate out of his skin. Louis can tell how excited he is.
Marcel is so close to grabbing the test and seeing it himself, wanting to know the answer just so that the suspense would end.
The Omega reaches for the test, and in doing so a bit of light is reflected by the metal band on his finger. His heart beats faster and he can't stop his smile from growing wider.
Taking a deep breath, Louis grabs the stick and turns it over in his hand. He is quiet for a moment, his lips not even twitching. Then he holds it out for his Alphas to look at.
The positive sign stares at them, bright pink and solid.
"Pregnant." Louis says.
fin.

A/N:
If you're reading this, thank you so much for staying until the end. If you were there with me from the start, I love you. For those who came along the way or have just started reading recently, thank you for giving this fic a chance, thank you. I love you. Please leave me some votes if you enjoyed this story.
Thank you for your patience and I appreciate and love you guys a lot. I hope you're all staying safe.
I did so much research for this entire chapter, and I don't even know why I did that. I really studied what seven-seater SUV would make most sense for them to buy and I watched some car videos sadhskdhfh. I also watched so many videos of people in labour just so I could know how it is like and get some vibe of it all while I was writing the scene. I hope I didn't butcher it or offend anyone. For the babies, I tried to keep in mind the skills they would gain and their development as they grow, but I've never been a mother, so I don't really know how these things go and all? Sorry if I got anything wrong or if something doesn't feel right.
But apart from that, what do you think of the twins? What about the ending? Should I do an epilogue? I already have one in mind. It'd be a scene of them and their family 9 years later. Hehe. Maybe I'll write it. Let me know how you've been doing, and what you think of the final chapter! Sending you light and happiness!
Much love, Rose.
