Daddy's allowance

Once we finish loading the truck me and Brendon climb back in. I'm so happy to finally be leaving this place. Brendon smiles at me. I start up the truck and drive away. Brendon turns on the pop station and Taylor swift comes on. Brendon starts hitting me playfully. "You need to calm down! You're being too loud!" He loudly sings in his fake singing voice. "I need to calm down?" I question him. "You need to just stop! Like can you just not! Step on my gown, you need to calm down!" He continues to sing. I shake my head. This is gonna be a long ride.
...
"So you're a tough guy! Like it really rough guy! Just can't get enough guy! Chest always so puffed guy! I'm that bad guy! Make your mother sad guy! Make your girlfriend mad type! Might seduce you're dad type! I'm the bad guy! DUH!" Brendon shouts out the window. I laugh at the "might seduce your dad type." Line in the song.
...
"So don't go look at me with that look in your eye! You really ain't goin' away without a fight! I told you one! two! three! four! five! 6,000 times! Haven't I made it obvious! Haven't I made it clear! Want me to spell it out for you! F! R! I! E! N! D! S!" Brendon points at me during the song. I scoff.
...
The next song starts playing and Brendon Loudly squeals, "It's Dua Lipa! One! Don't pick up the phone! You know he's only calling cause he's drunk and alone! Two! Don't let him in! You'll have to kick him out again! Three! Don't be his friend! You know you're gonna wake up in his bed in the mornin'! And if you're under him, you ain't getting over him! I got new rules, I count 'em!"
...
"Break up with your girl friend! Yeah-yeah cause I'm bored! You can hit it in the morning! Yeah-yeah like it's yours! I know it ain't right but I don't care! Yeah-yeah break up with your girlfriend! Yeah-yeah cause I'm bored! I fucking love you Ariana!" Brendon shouts. I turn off the radio. "What the fuck!" Brendon yells glaring at me. "I'm trying to drive and you're distracting me. Plus you sound better when you use your real singing voice," I say. Brendon huffs. "Psh you like my voice," he says. "I do, your actual voice," I say. "Is Dallon being a little grumpy pants?" Brendon asks as he slowly crawls his finger up my thigh, smirking. "Stop that!" I say swatting away his hands. "What's wrong?" Brendon asks in an innocent voice, knowing very well what's wrong. "I'm trying to drive!" Brendon then pulls his iPhone X and air pods out of his pocket and puts them in. He blasts his music so loud that I can hear the music, then he turns and stares out the window silently.

I grab his hand but he pulls away. I know something is wrong. I probably hurt his feelings. I'm such an idiot. "I'm sorry Brendon. I don't know what's gotten into me lately. I'm just being super bipolar. To be honest I'm just upset that my dad wanted nothing to do with me. He always puts his job before me. I understand he needs to make money but why can't he take one day off just to see our new place. I don't know," I say to myself. "Parents suck," Brendon says. "You heard that?" I ask shocked. "I heard you say to be honest when my song was ending. I paused my music to hear what you were gonna say. I'm sorry if you didn't want me to hear that," he tells me. "It's fine. I was just apologizing," I say. "Don't apologize. It's my fault. I was just being hormonal," Brendon says. I gasp, "are you... Pregnant?" I ask jokingly. "Yes, and, it's not yours," Brendon goes along. "Gasp. I'm 14 and this is deep," I say seriously. "Okay boomer," Brendon says and then we both burst out laughing.

After a long truck ride we finally arrive at the place. It's a five star hotel and we own the penthouse at the very top thanks to my allowance I get from daddy every month that I have saved up since freshman year of high school. I guess there's perks about him working 24/7. But I'd still rather spend time with him than have tons of money.

I pull us into a parking spot close to the entrance of the hotel. We hop out of the truck and open the back. Someone with long black hair wearing a hotel uniform walks up to us. "Hi my name is Kellin. I've been assigned to help you guys with your move into our penthouse suite. Are you both staying here with us or are you just helping with the move?"
He asks us. "We're staying," Brendon says. I climb up into the truck. The other two follow behind me grabbing boxes. And putting them on the hotel cart that Kellin had brought out with him.

"You two look young how old are you both?" Kellin asks. "We're both 21," I tell him. "Ah, okay," he says in understanding, "so how are two young fellas like able to afford such an expensive place?" Kellin asks us. "My dad is the CEO of Disney. I get a 10,000 dollar allowance every month. And I've been saving it up for 7 years," I explain. Kellin looks shocked, "You make my the salary I get every year in one month." It's not all that it's cracked up to be though, I think. I mean my dad cheated on my mom with his secretary, my mom beat me for being bisexual, my parents got divorced,
I tried to kill myself, and to top it all off my dad would rather work than face reality, that our family is fucked up.

"So where did you guys move from? I'm assuming you're from the same place?" Kellin asks. "Yeah we are. We're from Las Vegas," I say. "Why did you guys move to LA?" He asks. "We just needed a fresh start," Brendon says, because running away from our problems is easier than facing them.

We finish unloading the truck then took our things to the elevator. I wish I could say the first day at our new place was great. I mean it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't how I imagined it to be like. I would day dream about what it would be like when me and Brendon moved into our own place. I imagined us digging through our box of blankets and making a blanket fort in the living room, then we would make s'mores on the electric stove, you know adult stuff. I guess I never really knew what it meant to live on our own.

We returned the truck to the closest moving truck company then drove back to our hotel in my car that we towed along. Once we arrived back the first thing Brendon wanted to do was in pack. Brendon is a neat freak so he had to put away everything right away. Let's just say unpacking takes longer than packing up. We were so exhausted afterwards that we fell asleep together on the couch watching a movie on a portable movie player because we were too tired to figure out how to set up the TV. Hopefully tomorrow will be different.
