Hauwa sighed contentedly as she settled onto her vanity stool in front of the mirror, her gaze drifting over the array of luxurious skincare products laid out before her. Today was a special day, and she wanted to look and feel her absolute best. With deliberate slowness, she began her skincare routine, savoring each delicate step.
First, she cleansed her skin with a generous dollop of La Mer's The Cleansing Foam, gently massaging the rich lather onto her face before rinsing it away with warm water. Next, she toned her skin with a sweep of Dr. Barbara Sturm's Facial Toner, the subtle citrus scent invigorating her senses.
Moving on, she applied a rich layer of Sisley Paris's Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream, the sumptuous texture melting effortlessly into her skin as she gently massaged it in. Her skin drank in the nourishing benefits of the cream, looking smoother, brighter, and more radiant with each passing moment.
Finally, she sealed everything in with a generous application of La Prairie's White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire, the opulent cream imbuing her skin with a subtle, ethereal glow. As she finished her skincare routine, Hauwa felt a sense of satisfaction wash over her, her skin looking and feeling its absolute best.
With her skincare complete, Hauwa turned her attention to her makeup, opting for a light, natural look that would enhance her features without overpowering them. She began by applying a smooth layer of Giorgio Armani's Maestro Foundation, the formula blending seamlessly into her skin as she buffed it in with a fluffy brush.
Next, she defined her brows with a few precise strokes of Anastasia Beverly Hills's Brow Wiz, the soft, natural-looking formula adding depth and dimension to her face. She then lined her eyes with a subtle swipe of Tom Ford's Extreme Mascara, the formula lengthening and volumizing her lashes with ease.
Finally, she added a touch of color to her lips with a delicate application of Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick in Walk of Shame, the soft, peachy hue complementing her skin tone perfectly. As she finished her makeup, Hauwa felt a sense of confidence wash over her, her features looking enhanced, yet still naturally beautiful.
Slipping into a stunning blue and white boubou from the esteemed fashion house of Oscar de la Renta, Hauwa felt like royalty, the sumptuous fabric draping elegantly across her curves as she moved. She tied the boubou scarf into an elegant turban, the intricate folds adding a touch of sophistication to her overall look.
As a finishing touch, Hauwa spritzed herself with a generous application of Tom Ford's Black Orchid perfume, the opulent scent enveloping her in a sensual, alluring aura. She touched her stomach, a thrill of excitement running through her as she thought about the precious life growing within her.
Hauwa's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she slipped out of the room, making her way to Ya Ali's old room where she and Sa'eed were staying. She had come to get ready in her and Jannah's old room, careful to avoid arousing Sa'eed's suspicion about her elaborate outfit. Today was his surprise party, and she couldn't wait to see the look on his face when she revealed the news about her pregnancy. Little did she know, the day held many more surprises in store for her.
As Hauwa entered the room, she was immediately struck by Sa'eed's dashing appearance. He stood in front of the mirror, spritzing a subtle amount of perfume onto his pulse points, the scent wafting through the air and teasing her senses. His blue kaftan was impeccably tailored, accentuating his broad shoulders and chiseled physique, while the zanna bukar cap added a touch of elegance to his overall look.
Hauwa's heart swelled with pride as she took in the sight of her husband, feeling grateful that he had unknowingly played along with her party plans by dressing in the theme color. She had specifically asked him to wear blue, and he had obliged without suspecting a thing.
As Sa'eed caught sight of her, a warm smile spread across his face, and he opened his arms, inviting her closer. "You look gorgeous, Mi Reina," he said, his voice low and husky, as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close.
Hauwa's heart skipped a beat as she felt his warm breath against her skin, his words sending shivers down her spine. "So do you," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper, as she wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in the crook of his neck.
Sa'eed chuckled, his chest vibrating against hers, as he held her close. "Mi Reina?" he murmured, his voice teasing.
"Yes?" she replied, her voice muffled against his neck.
"Stop sniffing my neck," he said, his tone playful, and Hauwa burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the room.
She had been tempted to reveal the truth – that it was their unborn baby making her crave the scent of his skin – but she had bitten back the words, choosing instead to tease him with a flirtatious remark. "Well, what can I do? You smell so good," she said, her voice dripping with sincerity, as she snuggled deeper into his neck.
Sa'eed's arms tightened around her, his hold possessive, as he breathed in the scent of her hair. "Come, I've a surprise for you," Hauwa said, her voice husky, as she pulled back, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
She took his hand, leading him out of the room, and Sa'eed followed, his eyes questioning. "Where is everyone?" he asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.
"They all went out," Hauwa replied, her tone casual, as she led him to the backyard of the house.
As they stepped out into the bright sunlight, Sa'eed's eyes widened in surprise, taking in the breathtaking sight before him. The entire backyard was transformed into a blue and white wonderland, the theme color of the party. Blue and white balloons floated gently in the breeze, while streamers made of blue and white crepe paper draped elegantly across the patio.
A stunning blue and white cake, adorned with intricate designs and patterns, sat atop a beautifully decorated table, surrounded by blue and white flowers. The cake was a masterpiece, with layers of moist, blue-colored sponge cake alternating with layers of creamy white frosting.
A huge banner, stretching across the length of the patio, read "Happy Birthday to the World's Best Husband" in bold, blue letters. The entire setup was a testament to Hauwa's meticulous planning and attention to detail.
As Hauwa looked at Sa'eed, she thought to herself that he had forgotten his birthday, unlike her, who started counting down the days to her birthday the moment her birthday month arrived.
Baba and Mama had left the house, wanting to give them some space, and Hauwa was grateful for their thoughtfulness.
As Sa'eed took in the scene, his eyes locked onto Hauwa's, and he felt his heart swell with emotion. He was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the celebration, and the fact that Hauwa had gone to such great lengths to make his birthday special.
Sa'eed's eyes scanned the backyard, taking in the sea of familiar faces. His siblings, Fahad, Safar, Safira, and Safina, were all smiling and chatting with each other. Adda Bahijja, who was soon to give birth, was seated comfortably, her husband by her side.
Hauwa's siblings were also in attendance. Jannah, Ya Ali had come with his wife and daughter, and Adda Aisha had brought her husband, Ya Mubarak, and their children. They were all laughing and having a great time.
Mahmoud, Sa'eed's friend, was also there, chatting with Rahma. The atmosphere was lively and joyful, filled with the sound of laughter and music.
As Sa'eed took in the scene, his heart swelled with gratitude. He felt blessed to have such a loving and supportive family and friends.
Without a word, Sa'eed pulled Hauwa into his arms, his lips crashing down onto hers in a passionate, toe-curling kiss. The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the depths of their love.
None of the guests noticed them, even as they kissed, until they broke apart, and Hauwa said, "The birthday boy is here."
She chuckled as Sa'eed glared at her, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm 30," he said, his voice low and husky, as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
The occupants of the backyard turned as they screamed "Happy Birthday!" in unison. They gathered around Sa'eed, singing the happy birthday song, their voices filling the air.
As they finished singing, Sa'eed cut the cake, and he and Hauwa fed each other, the sweet, moist cake a delight to their taste buds. The guests cheered and clapped, urging them to take another bite.
After the cake-cutting ceremony and the fun they had, the entire party moved inside the house. The atmosphere was still lively and joyful, filled with laughter and conversation.
Sa'eed and Hauwa sat together in a comfortable chair, his arms wrapped warmly around her shoulders. They talked with their family, sharing stories and jokes, as they basked in the warmth of their loved ones.
Occasionally, Sa'eed would peck Hauwa's temple, his gentle kisses sending shivers down her spine. Hauwa would smile, her eyes sparkling with happiness, as she leaned deeper into his embrace.
The room was filled with the sound of laughter and chatter, as their family celebrated Sa'eed's special day. It was a moment of pure joy, one that Sa'eed and Hauwa would cherish forever.
"Babe, I'm coming." Hauwa whispered to Sa'eed as she stood up to leave.
"Wait, I'll come with you." Sa'eed said.
"I'm going to the bathroom."
"And so?" He asked as he raised a brow.
"Just sit here. I'll be back soon." She said, she was going upstairs to pick up the baby clothes she had brought so she would surprise him with the news of their baby.
Safar, knowing where Hauwa was going, followed her, helping her pick up the baby dress and shoes and the pregnancy test strip as they both chatted in excitement about Sa'eed's reaction.
They made their way downstairs, chatting happily, but suddenly Hauwa's scream pierced the air.
As Hauwa's scream pierced the air, Sa'eed's head whipped around, his eyes scanning the room frantically for the source of her distress. His gaze landed on Hauwa, and his heart stopped. She was lying on the floor, a pool of her own blood spreading rapidly around her.
Sa'eed's face went pale, his eyes wide with shock and horror. He felt like he had been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him. He stumbled to his feet, his legs trembling beneath him, and rushed to Hauwa's side.
"Baby? Baby? Mi Reina? Please stay with me," he whispered, his voice shaking with fear as he gathered her into his arms. He held her close, trying to stem the flow of blood, but it seemed to be coming from everywhere.
Hauwa's eyes fluttered open, and she tried to speak, but her voice was weak and barely audible. "Sa'eed, o-o-our b-b-baby," she stammered, her words sending a chill down Sa'eed's spine.
He looked around, taking in the scene, and his eyes widened in horror. The pregnancy test strip, the baby clothes, and the blood... it all added up to a nightmare scenario. With renewed energy, Sa'eed scooped Hauwa up into his arms and rushed out of the house, the others following close behind.
In the chaos, Safar was nowhere to be seen, having vanished into thin air. But Sa'eed didn't notice, his focus solely on getting Hauwa to safety, to saving her and their unborn child.
Okay 🌚
