Day 7

December 20th

I open my eyes and glance at the clock. 6:38am. Great, I'll finally be on time for once in my life... if nothing happens while I'm on my way there, which has been happening a lot lately.

I get ready and walk to the door, waiting for Armin to be done. When he walks to me, we walk out. I know I shouldn't bring it up, but I've been having nightmares all night about it.

"Armin... have you heard about Kenny the Reaper?" He looks at me confused and shakes his head, before I can say anything else, Mikasa and Sasha walk to us and we greet them.

Nothing really happens on our way to school nor during the school day, but when we walk to the theater, my phone rings. I am scared to check who it is, but I feel a wave of relief flow through me when I see the caller's ID.

"I'll be right back" I excuse myself and walk to the dressing room, picking up.

"Are you okay?" I blink, shocked by his sudden concern.

"Yeah, I am... why?" I ask "did something happen?" I rush, if something happened to him because of me...

"I don't know, you tell me" I frown, "what did Kenny tell you?"

I blink "What? How-"

"You think I'd let you be alone with Reiner around? What kind of person do you think I am?" He says, "I got someone to make sure you were safe... and now I'm glad I did" I am speechless, he got me followed? "what did he tell you?"

I remember what Kenny said and I breathe shakily "n- nothing..." I try to lie "he just... wanted to meet me...?"

"Eren, you can tell me, you know that right?" I bite my lip "did he threaten you? ... it's Kenny, of course he did... what did he say? You don't have to worry, he won't hurt you" he reassures softly.

I check that everyone is too far to hear me "it didn't really make sense to me... he told me that he didn't want you to be happy and not to make you happy" for some reason, I want him to tell me it does, that I do make him happy, but his answer is as cold as they used to be.

"Is that it?" He asks, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed, he could've said something else, but for as long as I've known him, that's a typical Levi response "Eren?"

"Yeah, that's it" I say "anything else? I'm working on the Christmas decorations"

"No, just remember about tomorrow. 7am, don't be late"

"Can I ask why it has to be on my birthday?" I ask him, "why can't it be today?"

He sighed "it's much easier to do it with adults" he says "legally, I would need your parents' permission and all that shit to question you" I can't really tell if he's telling the truth or not, I feel like I shouldn't get my hopes up, it's Levi, after all.

"Okay, bye"

I hang up and walk back to the theater "who was it?" Marco asks as I plug in my phone to the speakers and play the Christmas playlist.

"The cop who arrested Reiner, he wants to see me tomorrow" I say as if it wasn't a big deal.

"On your birthday?" Connie asks confused, setting up the fairy lights with Sasha's help "that's mean, why does he have to bother you on your birthday?"

"Apparently, it's easier if I'm 18 and it has too be as soon as possible, dunno" I sigh, "but I don't know if I'm going, he wants to meet up before school" I lie. Oh, so now I can lie? Perfect...

We go on with the decorations and, after three or four hours, we go back home. I go to my room and Armin stays in the livingroom. I go straight to bed, not knowing how to feel about tomorrow, but I'm excited to see him again.
