Chapter 6 The Return of the Princess Marinette Snow White
In the previous Chapter, Marinette removes the veil to reveal her face and the servant gasps. The young girl named Jenny can not believe it. It is someone she never thought to see in the castle again.
Now, in the current chapter, "It is you, your majesty," Jenny says. She looks at her in surprise. She thought for sure by now the princess was dead or missing. She can not believe her eyes.
"How can this be? The evil ruler, Lila told us you were dead," Jenny says.
"Well, I made her think I ran away for good reasons, I assure you," Princess Marinette Snow White explains.
"I see, well, I for one are glad you are still around. I never did like that horrid late stepmother of yours," The servant Jenny says.
"I never was one to speak ill of the dead, but I must agree she was horrid," Another servant says.
"I thought you were done for," A third servant says.
"Your highness, I am glad to see you are still with us," A fourth servant states.
"I am glad to be back. Now, if you excuse me, I need to change back to my proper noble attire," She says.
The princess leaves the kitchen, goes to her room, and changes back into her royal garments. She shakes her head and thinks today turns out to be rather hectic. Then, again the whole week has been like this. She is glad to be rid of her disguise now. She hates the fact is due to someone else's death. As bad as her stepmother was she never did wish anything bad upon her, this is just not the type of person she is or ruler she was raised to be by her dear departed father.
She takes a look around and thinks, I have my work cut out for me indeed.
Jenny with help from three of the other servants carries the deceased queen outback, removes the stolen crown from her head, and buries her in the castle's garden. It is an appropriate place since she laid to rest under the apple tree she cherished so much. It was if when she was alive the tree was more important to her than any other living thing.
Now, the job is done, the servants return to the castle at once to see what other tasks the princess has in mind for them. Somehow, they are sure the day has just begun despite it being almost dinner time.
"I see you all have finished the job, well done, now I insist you all have a dinner break at once," She says.
"Wait, I have forgotten our cook, Melissa is not back yet. Oh, dear then I shall have to go and fetch her then," The princess says.
"Guards see to it that no strangers enter the palace grounds while I am away. Upon my return, the cook shall be back here or I shall I have to hire a new cook if I fail to find her," Marinette Snow White tells them.
"Yes, your majesty. Right away, princess, at your service," The guards reply. They are glad to be back in service as the queen only spoke harshly to them unlike the kind, compassionate, princess before their very eyes.
The princess walks into the woods where the seven gardeners live and happens up the cottage. She knocks on the door and asks, "Melissa are you there? It is I the Princess Marinette Snow White."
Melissa hears the voice of someone she recognizes all too well. She opens the door at once for her. She smiles and says, "I have enjoyed my stay here, but I shall be glad to work for you once more."
"I will as well, Princess Snow," Juleka her personal servant replies.
"Okay, now that is settled, we shall be our way at once," Princess Snow White says.
"I shall miss you both, but since you are under the service of the rightful ruler we wish you well," Doc says as he tries hard not to cry.
Melissa, Juleka, and Marinette all head back to the palace, once outside the gate, the guards open it to let the three woman pass and close the gates behind them. This is to ensure no outsiders enter the palace without permission from the soon to be queen herself.
"Hurry, she is back!" A servant says.
"Yes, I can see this fine myself, thank you," Another servant replies.
"The rightful heir to the throne has returned, Long live her majesty, Marinette Snow White!" The people outside the gates cry out.
"May she have a beautiful long life, be blessed with a wonderful husband, and many children," One of the older servants says.
The Princess Marinette Snow White waves to everyone, then goes inside the castle, with her servant Juleka, and royal cook, Melissa not far behind her.
Today might have been tough, but at least she lives to tell about it, was the first thing on her mind as she sat in the throne that belongs to her once more.
