*Pardon my grammatical errors*

—The chamber of secrets,his heart—

"I was waiting till you two finish the talk but —",Levi entered with his hands inside his pant pockets. "— it seems like there is something I should enlighten you"

Dongwook raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you too early to greet her?"

Levi rolled his eyes,"Shouldn't I be the first one to greet her? It seems like she is getting better. I talked with your father. It's time now"

Igarashi was confused. She looked back and forth in between Dongwook and Levi.

Dongwook sighed. He took a small glance at Igarashi before stepping away reluctantly. He smiled sadly when Igarashi looked at him with a questioning gaze.

"Igarashi ",Levi spoke walking closer to her. He noticed her wet cheeks indicating that she cried. Forcing out a sigh,he spoke. "I wasn't going to say this but I think you should know this before everything"

Igarashi frowned tilting her head.

"Do you remember the day you killed your brothers' mother?"

Dongwook got startled hearing Levi's question. He was utterly confused and curious about what he had to say. Whatever he has to say will be a huge impact on Igarashi's future decisions and Dongwook wasn't sure if Levi did consider about the possibilities. But he also wanted to know how it happened.

Igarashi had a look of a broken angel. Completely defeated with a look of insecurity. Insecurity about her brothers feelings for her.

Shaking her head,she whispered out,"no"

Levi leaned against the back of the couch back facing Igarashi. "It happened when you,Krista,Dongwook, Qin Xiu and me were appointed in a mission in South Korea. Dongwook and Qin Xiu weren't with us due to some circumstances at that time. You,Krista and me were running away that night. Our enemies were chasing us"

Igarashi remembered that night. It was the first ever mission she had with Levi.

"We hit a woman with our car"

She widened her eyes. She didn't really remember it. How did she forget it?

"We clearly saw her crossing the road. She was too reckless,crossing the road without looking but we were at the fault. If we stopped,we could have died by the hands of the enemies"

Igarashi blinked trying to remember but she couldn't. Did she purposely hit her? Did she really do it?

"We got no choice but to run over her",

Igarashi's breathing was ragged. Her body started trembling. They will never forgive me. I don't deserve their love. I killed her. Her mind was feeding her poison.

Levi gave a side look to Igarashi.

"But it caused a huge accident afterwards. We literally ran into a gas station out of control",.....,"For our unfortunate, it had a gas leak and somehow it blew up. You were heavily injured but we somehow managed to escape. Your head had hit the window and you had lost the memories of that moment "

Dongwook also remembered that incident. He almost had a heart attack seeing Igarashi's almost dead figure on Levi's hands. Memories were too dark. Those were the dark days they never wanted to remember.

"The mission had so many miscalculations. The woman and the gas station were one of them. We almost failed it. When we came back to the fortress city,I was given the job to write a full report about what happened", He took a large sum of oxygen. "And I changed the report purposely",He looked at Dongwook. "Can you tell her why I did it?"

Right now,Dongwook was having the biggest shock in his life. Cold sweat beads were appearing on his forehead remembering what happened. He was the sole reason why Levi changed the report. Because he begged for it. But he never knew that it would leave to this moment.

Igarashi stared at him questioningly.

"I —",he gulped hard. "I asked him to  change it"

"Why? What did he change?and for what?",she asked.

Dongwook shut his eyes tightly revealing the deed he did."To protect Krista"

Igarashi raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"It wasn't you. It was Krista. She was the one who hit the woman. She was the driver. She purposely hit her. But I didn't know who was that woman. If Emperor got to know that she was the reason which caused the accident that almost got you onto the death bed,then she would have been hanged to death. When I got to know what happened, I asked Levi to change the report. So,..".,..."he wrote it as you caused the accident"

Igarashi's expression didn't change. She stared at Dongwook's guilty face. She only chuckled which held nothing but emptiness. "So?what will it change? I was there. I was there with you all. It doesn't change anything",she mumbled.

"Yeah. But you didn't cause it. You didn't see it coming either. You were in the back seat looking back at the enemy cars which were chasing us",Levi said the exact situation." And I know that even if you saw her,you wouldn't have stopped us either. But in a way,you are not guilty. It was me and Krista"

"Oh",that's all Igarashi could say. It didn't really pull away the heavy burden but still she didn't cause it. She wouldn't say that she wasn't at fault. Because according to her,she was there too. Sharing the sins her friends did with her.

"He is right",Dongwook spoke. "You didn't kill her Igarashi. You know,it was inevitable. Even if they tried to break,they wouldn't have avoided the accident with the speed they were driving. It would have killed everyone",.....,"You don't need to tell your brothers what happened. Some things are meant to be hidden"

Those were the same words from Krista.

But Igarashi didn't think that way. "If I hid this fact,I'll never be able to face them again. It doesn't matter if they will understand it or not. It's okay even if they hate me. I need to tell them. They have the right to know what happened. And it's their right to decide if they want to forgive me or not"

Dongwook was worried as hell. But he had to respect her decision. If it is what she wants,then so be it. He didn't even want to imagine what will happen. Things will not take a good turn but he will always be with Igarashi's side. No matter what.

Igarashi looked at Levi and stood up from the couch. "Is it all?"

Levi stared at her for few seconds before speaking. "No",....,"As the new Empress,you need to give the last farewell to the former Emperor Wu Yifan"

She blinked few times trying to comprehend what he meant. "What do you mean? Did the Emperor step down? But he took away my position as the heir"

Dongwook walked behind her and placed his hand on her shoulder trying to give her some comfort for the next words coming out from Levi.

Levi,"He stepped down. And named you as the Empress before giving his heart to you "

Colours disappeared from her sight. The air around her thickened suffocating her. Her mind went blank. Did she hear him right? The beating heart inside her,was none other than him?

Why?

Just why?

She didn't know.

She couldn't say.

Her body stumbled backwards but Dongwook was there to hold her. She felt her heart racing vigorously inside her.

She placed her palm over her chest feeling the heart beat.

She couldn't understand why. Why did he do such a thing? He could have easily found another heart by hook or crook but why did he give her his heart?

What kind of reason he had?

She awfully felt empty. The chain around her ankle had disconnected letting her be free. But she didn't feel any happiness.

Who can answer her? Who would tell her?
