ーOne step closerー

The night was chaotic inside her mansion. She just wanted to sign the marriage certificate without any fuss. But the little devils were not letting her breath now. They were hella mad at her for not telling them anything. The biggest baby was Lee Dongwook who couldn't keep his mouth shut even for a second and kept whining about how cruel she is.

Despite everything, they were now decorating the house to hold a small family party. Dongwook had already ordered her wedding dress and a wedding suit for Yibo. Levi was forcefully dragged into the mess and he was in charge of cleaning the house with maknaes while the elders were preparing food for tomorrow event.

Yibo also had joined the elders since he was enjoying too much.

Igarashi had enough and went to her veranda to have fresh air. She abruptly stopped seeing Kim Wonbin sitting on a chair deep in his thoughts.

She was about to turn around and leave but stopped hearing his voice.

"Hey",he softly called her.

She slowly turned around to face him but he was watching the sky which was filled with so many stars.

"Can we talk?"

Igarashi didn't say anything. She just took a seat on the chair next to her. She waited till he talk.

Wonbin stayed silent for few more minutes, collecting his thoughts.

"I thought I should tell you this. I,....met your mother",he mumbled staring at his fiddling hands.

Igarashi slowly looked at him,expecting him to continue. She wasn't hoping for anything since her mother had already answered her. Nothing will change even if she knew the truth.

"She came to me. And asked me what really happened to me"

It was a huge misunderstanding both of them had. Her mother thought that he had given up and put her life into a misery but on the other hand,her father was living in a lie. He couldn't find her. He was given the false information about her marrying someone else by his father to make them apart. At the end,both of them suffered. Igarashi couldn't say who suffered the most since one's suffering couldn't be really compared. Everyone has their own story. Everyone suffers. And no one could be blamed for the decisions they took.

Wonbin again looked up to gaze the starry sky.

Flashback

"Even if it is the truth,nothing can be changed now",Lang Qing muttered holding the fence of the rooftop. It was the rooftop of the WonBin's company. She had come to him by herself.

Wonbin stood next to her with his hands inside his pockets.

"The things happened to us.....were out of our control",she said. "Maybe we didn't have any false but we happened to be the victims"

Wonbin didn't know what to say. Even though he had so many questions inside his mind,he didn't know if he had the right to ask. He wanted to ask about Igarashi. He wanted to know why she tried to kill her.

"Can you tell me what happened to you?",that was the only appropriate question he could think of.

She smiled and that smile held pain and mockery. "What happened to me? I don't even have any right to think about what happened to me. How can I tell you it?"

Wonbin really couldn't understand her riddles. He squinted his eyes in confusion.

"Nothing to say more. I neither have any relation to you nor Igarashi. Our story had ended a long time ago. Like I said,we can't change anything that happened and will not change anything which is bound to happen"

Wonbin could understand what she meant by she had no relationship with him but what does she mean by she had nothing to do with Igarashi.

"What do you mean? Igarashi is still your daughterー"

"No. She is not. I had abandoned her a long time ago. She is nothing but a mistake we did",She had no feelings when she uttered those harsh words.

Wonbin couldn't believe that she said it. Yes,he knew that she tried to kill Igarashi but still.

"Y-You can't say it. We loved each other when we had her. How can you say she is a mistake?!",he knew that he had no right to say it but he is her father. If he wasn't fooled by his father,he would have returned to her and his daughter.

"She is a huge mistake. Believe it or not. It is the truth. She is not my daughter anymore. You,me and her,are a broken mirror which will never be mended"

End of the flashback

Wonbin didn't want to say those harsh words of hers to Igarashi. He looked at her who was staring at the sky with empty eyes.

No one deserves her.

She is not what they say.

She is much more.

World doesn't deserve her.

But she deserves the very best.

"You don't have to hide what she said. I already know what might be her words. She said those things to me earlier",She mumbled.

Wonbin looked down feeling a huge ache inside his heart. His heart ached for his daughter. He couldn't be a father to her yet he wanted to see her again and again. Every day,he wished to see her  and when she came to him,he was truly happy.

He could feel what a burden she had been holding for so many years. At the end of the day,she is alone. She had no mother to hug her. She had no father to read her a bed time story to make her fall asleep. She grew up alone. A huge void in her heart.

But maybe today,her life might have a little bit difference. She has a friend,a lover and brothers. Her black and white life had taken the seven colours of rainbow. Her loved ones had painted her life beautifully.

"Can you give me a chance?",Wonbin asked.

Igarashi looked at him.

"A chance to be your father?"

Igarashi had no hatred for him anymore. She forgot everything after getting to know about his side story. But can she accept him as her father? She didn't really feel anything for him. No hatred and no love. So,maybe giving a chance to him will not hurt. At the end, she will not get hurt since she had no any particular feeling for him.

She shrugged her shoulders. "Okay"

Wonbin smiled in relief. He didn't really expect her to accept him but when he got the 'okay' ,he swore that he felt complete. He felt like he could die peacefully.

Igarashi was startled when he stood up abruptly. He extended his hand to her. "Let's get inside. You need to rest now. It's a big day for you tomorrow. Don't worry. We will take of everything",he smiled widely.

Hesitantly, she took his hand and looked up. He tightened his grip. She stood up slowly.

"I will wait till you say 'dad' to me one day. Take your time"

"Dad!!noona!what are you doing there! Dinner is ready!",Jungkook shouted from inside waving his hands.

The day had finally arrived. It was the day of heaven's son and hell's daughter. Hiding away from the whole world,they are ready to utter the holy vow of life and death. One step closer. They had taken one more step closer to be one.

Igarashi stared at herself through the huge mirror infront of her. She always knew that she had an extra ordinary beauty but seeing herself in the mirror with that holy dress of white,she felt weird. She looked even more ethereal. Her red eyes stood the most and they didn't seem cursed today. They looked magical. Yibo's favourite eyes. And he is going to be the owner of her eyes.

The dress covered her whipped marks on her back and it was Dongwook's choice. He knew exactly what to do. He was really proud of himself knowing Igarashi still needed him till this day. He looked at her with crossed arms,leaning against the wall. He felt like a proud father?or brother? He couldn't help but to wipe a tear secretly.

"Finally, my annoying boss is going to get married",he said taking Igarashi's attention.

She turned to him with an innocent look and that's when Dongwook knew what she was feeling. She was anxious and nervous. He chuckled. He still could read her like an open book. The time they spent together really paid off. In a day like this,it was really important. Dongwook knew how she felt.

He walked towards her and smiled. "Look at you. What would you do if I wasn't here. Huh? And you tried to get married secretly without even telling me"

She blinked few times and nodded.

Dongwook looked at her hair. It was in a low pony tail. "You don't like this style. What the heck did those hair stylists do? Let me do it again",he let her hair go down. Her hair was curly at the end and it really looked beautiful. He put a flower crown on her hair and fixed her veils from behind.

"You don't need a glitter crown to be his wife. Just be yourself with this flower crown and let him be your sun. Love him just like you always did"

Igarashi nodded and smiled.

"Igarashi "

Both Dongwook and Igarashi looked back to see Kim Wonbin. He smiled seeing his daughter. He walked closer to them maintaining his smile.

"You look beautiful today",he whispered and unknowingly his hand went to her cheek but he paused. He hesitantly tried to take away his hand but Dongwook stopped and placed his hand on Igarashi's cheek.

"I think you two should have your moment as father and daughter before everything. Then I'll take my leave"

Dongwook ran towards the door only to meet the sneaky maknaes who were trying to see their sister.

"What the hell. It's almost the time and you guys are ugh!!come here!",he dragged the three boys away from the room.

Wonbin sighed in content."My daughter is finally getting married. I know that I couldn't be with you when you were taking your first step to walk but I want to be there to walk you in the aisle. Can I have the honor of walking you in the aisle as your father?"

She nodded, staring straight into her father's eyes. She didn't feel alone today. She got a family. She wanted to cherish this moment. She wanted to protect what she got. She would never let anyone snatch away what she had today.

Yibo was nervously waiting for her at the end of the aisle. He didn't have a family to stand by his side but he had someone to stand by his side. His new family. He looked at his side to see Jin,Namjoon and Hoseok. They flashed him a smile and cheered him.

Just then,the door to the living room got wide opened. Yoongi started playing a piano,sitting next to the door.

His gaze went to the bride who was slowly taking her steps towards him with her father. His mouth parted slightly seeing the beauty. Again,he felt like the first moment he saw at the stadium years ago. His heart beat at an abnormal rate. His palms started sweat and his throat went dry.

Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook were throwing flowers to her while cheering loudly. Levi also threw flowers silently.

As she got closer,he felt heaven inside him. Thousands of butterflies danced inside his stomach.

Wonbin gave her hand to him and walked away.

Yibo couldn't take his eyes off from her. Both of them stared at each other like there was no one around them anymore. One step closer.

Ruining their moment,Dongwook cleared his throat with a book in his hands.

"Today......is such a happy and grateful day. I've waited for this moment ever since I met Igarashi, so I could get rid of her quickly",he muttered earning a laughter from everyone except Igarashi who just rolled her eyes. "I guess it's better to make a short comment. May you live a happily ever after. Wang Yibo,my brother,please take care of her well. She can be a little bit stubborn sometimes as you already know. But I want you two to understand each other and live happily"

Yibo nodded wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Let's do the vows then",Dongwook flipped a page and started his work. "Wang Yibo,will you vow to share your life with her in everything, to respect and love her. Will you take Lang Igarashi as your wife to have and hold her in sickness and in health from this day forward till death do you apart?"

"Death won't do us apart. Except for that my answer is a yes"

Igarashi cringed at his choice of words but she loved it anyways.

Dongwook smiled and continued. "Lang Igarashi, will you vow to share your life with him in everything,to respect and love her. Will you take Wang Yibo as your husband to have and hold him in sickness and in health from this day forward till eternity?",He changed the last part because of Yibo's answer.

Igarashi smiled and looked at Yibo. Her lips muttered the answer with her whole heart. "Yes,I do"

Dongwook shut the book and looked at them. "Now I announce you as husband and wife. You may kiss the bride"

Yibo pulled her by her waist. "I love you",he whispered before pressing his lips onto hers.

Everyone cheered loudly.

Dongwook joined the boys and cheered the couple loudly. He saw Levi taking pictures from a camera. Dongwook couldn't help but to laugh at his annoyed look. He was sure that boys must have forced him to take pictures since he was lazing around without doing anything.

Dongwook only wished one thing.

Please,don't let anyone ruin this happiness.
