ーKnight in the shining armour ー

Igarashi smirked with the new information she received. "Smarty pants,you impressed me" her rosy lips muttered a rare compliment to the other line which happened to be the lucky boy Kaizhong. The boy was in cloud nine hearing a compliment from his boss.

"Keep an eye on that person "

Hanging up,she placed her cell phone on the side table of her bathtub. She relaxed inside the tub with closed eyes feeling the serene moment. The white bubbles covered her whole godly beautiful body which was filled with ugly lash marks. She had recovered yet she still had those whipped marks on her back. Every mark reminded her the pain and it only made her keep going until she finds the everlasting peace her soul needed.

Washing up her body,she strode out from her bathroom with a white rob hiding her mysterious body which was filled with misery. Dongwook was inside her room,sitting on a couch with crossed arms.

Igarashi didn't really mind his presence. She started to find her cloths rumming her hands through her travelling bags.

"What do you plan to do? Will you end everything?"

Igarashi took out a white and red gown and examined it."Mn" she hummed as an answer.

"What about your brothers? Do you think that they'll be ready for the truth?"

Igarashi gave a quick glance to him. He didn't know what was inside her head right now. But he believed in her decisions.

"They are not kids anymore. They will have to understand it"

Dongwook scoffed. "Says the one who treats them as to toddlers"

Igarashi gave a quick glare but didn't deny his words. Maybe he is right. It will be difficult for her to see them getting hurt but right now,she didn't want to waste anymore time.

"Fine. Let's do as you say",Dongwook sighed.

"Mn",Igarashi kept staring at Dongwook.

"What?"

"Can you get lost now?"She mumbled raising her gown signalling that she needs to get ready.

Dongwook rolled his eyes. "Let me apply some ointments on the scars on your back before I goー"

"No need" Igarashi mumbled making Dongwook frown.

"What do you mean by 'no need'? You can't apply them by your own" he stood by and walked towards her,taking a tube of ointment from his pant pockets.

Igarashi sighed."I said no need. Get lost old man"

Dongwook hissed hearing 'old man'. He gave her a death glare as if it can scare her but in reality it never had an effect on her. Who can scare the devil herself.

"Shut up red eyes. It's not like I haven't treated you before. What's so hard to show now?",He grabbed her by her shoulders and turned her body around."Remove the rob a bit"

Igarashi didn't do as he wanted. She couldn't do it now. Not because she was uncomfortable. She was totally comfortable around him to the point she will never be embarrassed to stand naked infront of him even though she will never do it purposely.She only had him back then.He became a part of her. He had treated her wounds so many times so it was natural to see her skin for him. Once you get used to something, it won't be awkward anymore.

Igarashi stopped Dongwook's hand and removed it from her body and stayed still back facing him.

"What's wrong?" Dongwook was concerned now.

Forcing out a sigh,she spoke."You shouldn't touch me when you have someone you love"

"What?"

"You like Jennie"

Dongwook won't hide it from her. He can't hide anything from her. She wasn't a fool to not notice his small little smiles whenever he sees Jennie. Just like Dongwook knew about her very well,she knew about him very well too.

Dongwook,"What does it have to do with treating you?"

Igarashi, "Would you like if another man touches Jennie?"

She had a point.

"Also,I have to think about Yibo's feelings too. He doesn't like it"

Dongwook lowered his head. He had nothing to say. He suddenly felt useless. To him,he was nothing without Igarashi. He was just an assassin and he had nothing other than that. He was nothing if he wasn't an assassin but Igarashi gave him a meaning. He devoted his life to her.

Igarashi turned around and looked at him."We have become one within these years of struggles. I will not be standing here if you weren't there for me. But,at that time,our paths were bounded. We had nothing but ourselves. But right now,"......"We have found different paths. I know it's not easy for you and trust me. It's not easy for me either"

Dongwook looked at her like he was understanding what she was trying to say. He shook his head in disbelief. "YーYou are not serious right? Are you going to abandon me?yーyou can't! IーI don't have a life withoutー"

"You are still an idiot",She smiled taking Dongwook off guard. The first time after a long time he received a smile from her. "I will never abandon you. I'm just letting you go to find your own life. A life without being bounded to serve me. You are a precious Knight. But I don't want you to suffer with me"

"But I don't want to! I am sーscared"

Igarashi let out a hearty chuckle. And it was definitely unexpected. Her sounded chuckle,her mellow soft chuckle was to her best friend.

"You are hilarious. You are scared? Impossible" she smiled shaking her head. "You are the bravest man I had ever seen. And you are capable of anything. You can do this too. Accept Jennie. She will guide you. She is a nice girl"

Dongwook's eyes filled with tears. He couldn't do it. He wasn't used to anything new. He didn't want to leave Igarashi. He was used to her mean comments. He was used to her glares. He was used to everything about her. He felt empty now.

"You know why I chose you as my best friend?"

Dongwook shook his head trying not to sob but small hiccups left from his throat. He closed his eyes tightly feeling the unpleasant emptiness in him.

"Because you are Dongwook. You were the only person who could handle me. You were the person who made me speak when I was unable react to anyone around me. You woke me up. You activated me with your annoying personality. You annoyed me until I speak. You annoyed me until I fight back. You bullied me when no one was dared to touch me. Simply, you are Dongwook. My human vitamin "

Igarashi had never spoken this much in her life to compliment anyone or comfort anyone. But here she is,comforting her best friend. Uttering everything she wanted to say.

"I owe you a lot. If you ever wondered why I sacrificed myself to Emperor to save you whenever you got into a trouble, that was because I knew that there will never be anymore Dongwook after you. I wanted you to keep me company. I was simply happy even though I didn't show"

Dongwook fell on his knees not being able to stand anymore. He knew it. Yet hearing those words from her,hit differently. Crying his eyes out,he closed his face with his palms.

"Look at you. You are being a baby now"

Dongwook looked up,sniffling. "Aren't you supposed to hug me now?"

"No"

"You are still cruel" he cried again making Igarashi roll her eyes with a smile. She snorted.

"Hugs are not free. I want money" she mumbled and strode towards the bathroom.

"You greedy fraud"

Dongwook stood up."At least let me stay until everything ends?huh?"

Igarashi stopped and nodded."Mn. Now leave"

"Okay" he wiped his tears away harshly. "Wait! What if Jennie doesn't like me now?"

Igarashi sighed heavily feeling done with him. She looked at him with a blank look. "So? Go and die"

"Oh Come on!"

"Shut up and leave. I need to go to my dwarfs before they cause any trouble. Troublemakers"

"NOONA!!!"

Igarashi sighed.

"Looks like they had already caused one" Dongwook smiled widely and ran out to fuel the situation.
