Mary Needs Therapy

He could feel the time slowly passing, each moment feeling like an hour and tearing at his body, leaving him restless and bored as he laid in bed. He stared at the soft blue glow of the moonlight that pierced his light-colored curtains, casting the room in a deep blue. His mouth twitched, fighting the growing urge to kick his legs in an effort to get rid of the uneasiness of staying still for such a long time. Eventually, he gave up, sighing as he pulled off his covers, barely stopping himself from running, and padding out of his room, down the hall where Castiel's bedroom was.

When he opened the door, he frowned when he saw that Castiel wasn't there. Probably over at Dean's. Gabriel thought as his lips pressed into a thin line, glancing back at his room. He moved back to it, the house feeling much more depressing when Castiel or Dean wasn't around. He snatched his phone of his dresser, blinding momentarily when the numbers 3:56 flashed at him in a bright light.

He crawled back onto his bed, sitting there and holding his phone gently in his hands, watching the wall with a slightly tipped head as he tried to relax his mind enough to go to sleep. It wasn't working, and Gabriel cursed the insomnia he had been given as he crossed back over to his window, feeling a little desperate as he felt energy buzzing under his skin, bringing a slight whine from his throat.

Sam's window was dark. Obviously, he was asleep, but Gabriel wanted someone to be near and help him sleep. It was awful and selfish, but Gabriel opened his window, climbing out and slipping over to Sam's window, shivering as his feet quickly froze against the grass that had frosted over. He tapped on it, a little more urgently than he had wanted to, but it was cold out with only a hoodie and boxers.

Sam's light turned on, and the curtain moved, revealing the sleepy teen as he rubbed his eyes. He growled softly when he saw Gabriel, pushing open his window and hissing at the cold, "What do you want?" Sam asked, annoyance clear in his voice that made Gabriel flinch just a little.

"I can't sleep, and Castiel's not here," Gabriel mumbled. Sam looked so warm; his cheeks pleasantly pink from sleep and his body practically radiating body heat that Gabriel could feel even from where he stood.

Sam snorted, guessing exactly where Castiel was by the roll of his eyes, "Why was your next decision to wake me up?" Sam asked, looking at Gabriel clearly for the first time, confusion littering his gaze as he stared at the smaller boy, hunched in his sweatshirt to keep warm.

"I didn't have anyone else," Gabriel replied, tugging on the hood to make sure it was still on, even though it didn't help his freezing ears much. Sam's eyes seemed to soften before he scowled, stepping to the side and leaving a small space in the window where Gabriel could climb through.

"Come on then. It's too cold to argue," Sam mumbled, his voice lacking any heat as Gabriel scrambled in, warmth surrounding him as soon as Sam closed the window behind him. He let out a shiver and chatter, looking at Sam gratefully, only to arch one eyebrow as Sam climbed back into his bed.

"Don't wake me up again," Sam threatened through a yawn as he laid back down, his body slumping in assumed exhaustion. Gabriel watched, enthralled at how easily Sam fell asleep, his breath easing out into a steady rhythm, leaving Gabriel with a sting of jealousy in his chest.

He huffed slightly, waiting a few more moments to be certain that Sam was actually asleep before climbing into the bed, wriggling until he managed to get under the covers, watching Sam sleep with curious eyes. The boy didn't seem to stir, slightly curled forwards, as if he were used to being curled around someone. It made Gabriel even more jealous, giving himself a few seconds to warm up before he was shuffling forwards and into Sam's space.

Sam grumbled, letting out a frustrated noise, but otherwise didn't open his eyes as he moved so Gabriel could work himself into Sam's arms, his nose pressing against his chest and the mouse ears of his hoodie tapping Sam lightly on the bottom of the chin when he moved. He curled his fingers into Sam's shirt, feeling so warm and surrounded by his apple scent.

His eyes felt heavy, and he didn't even try to fight it as the warmth flooded over him, leaving him perfectly content next to the human heater.

Gabriel barely stirs at the sound of a door opening the next morning, perfectly happy to ignore whoever was coming in the room as long as it allowed him to stay curled up to Sam a little longer. Whoever it was stopped halfway through opening the door, Mary's voice reaching his ears and pulling him from his happy half-dream.

"Samuel Avery Winchester! What is he doing in your room?!"

Sam jerked and then he was gone. Gabriel grumbled when the cold air hit his chest, curling tighter into a ball on the bed and letting his fingers reach out, brushing along the bed in an attempt to find Sam to pull him back to him. By the time he found the edge of the bed, Sam was already speaking, and Gabriel decided that warmth or no, he was not getting on the floor just to cuddle with Sam.

"He couldn't sleep so I let him in! I didn't know he climbed into bed with me!" Sam exclaimed, sounding a little scared. Gabriel frowned, opening his eyes just a little in curiosity and looking at Sam, who was currently sitting on the floor with wide eyes. Gabriel turned his gaze to Mary, wondering what the hell she was doing to make Sam look so scared.

Oh, she was pissed, and Gabriel was so glad she was too busy lecturing Sam to look at him. Well, least he could do was come to Sam's aid.

"I was going to go find Castiel, but he's with Dean, and I figured that lube bottle would be a little bit emptier now," Gabriel added helpfully, yawning and ready to curl back up and sleep now that he had helped. Instead, he was hit with a pillow, an exclaim of 'Gabriel!' leaving Sam's lips. Gabriel grabbed the pillow, pulling it to his chest and hugging it tight, "It's true, though."

Mary didn't say anything for a minute, and by the time Gabriel had finally woke up all the way, the tension faded from the room, and she let out a sigh, "Breakfast is ready," She said, and Gabriel could hear her rubbing at her forehead and wishing that she was burning on the ceiling rather than dealing with them, "I guess we can have one more."

When she left to wake Dean and Castiel, Gabriel sat up, stretching and looking at the still flustered Sam, smiling at how cute the boy was when he sent a glare his way, "Morning, pretty moose," Gabriel commented, feeling a swell in his chest when he saw Sam blush, mumbling something about Gabriel being stupid before stumbling to his feet and hurrying out the door.

Now that Mary mentioned it, he could smell pancakes throughout the house, his stomach rumbling in excitement at the thought of getting to eat something that smelled as good as that did. He bounced off the bed and hurried into the kitchen, where Sam was gathering a plate of pancakes and Mary was staring out the window by the counter, sipping on a cup of coffee.

"Gabriel? When did you get here?" He heard Castiel say, glancing back and seeing the black-haired man standing behind him, his hair disheveled and a tired look on his face. Gabriel didn't miss the prideful look on Dean's face as he passed behind him, heading for the food.

"In between your moans last night," Gabriel snarked, skipping over to the counter to grab a plate. Castiel inflamed red, and Dean paused in his step before attempting to continue what he was doing like nothing had been said, to begin with. Mary, however, let out a slight gasp, her eyes wide.

"Gabriel!" She chastised, making Gabriel duck his head, hiding behind Sam so she couldn't use her mother glare at him. He peeked his head out from under Sam's arm, holding tightly to the back of his shirt as he looked at the annoyed mother standing on the other side of the kitchen.

"Sorry," He stated, though he wasn't sorry at all.
