Jealousy

Being grounded really sucked, especially during the weekend, not like he had anyone he could spend it with. He was left stuck at home alone while Castiel went with Dean, probably somewhere private ever since Gabriel's not so subtle questions of where they like to get it on. It wasn't his fault. He just didn't want to eat food off the table or sleep in his bed if they had decided to do it there.

Still, Sunday was awful when there was nothing to do. He had finished his homework long ago, just staring out the window towards Sam's empty room as he drew random patterns on the notebook beneath his hand. Another sigh left his lips, and he glanced towards the pointless scribbles on the page, only for a light flicking on to catch his attention.

Sam's door walked open, and Gabriel perked up when the teen walked in, a smile on his beautiful face that had Gabriel grinning. He stood, fully intent on going to bug the hell out of Sam through the window, but he was stopped in his tracks when an older girl with short red hair followed in after him, her lips split into a grin. Instantly, jealousy bloomed across his chest, and he ducked under his window sill so he would be less likely to be seen, peeking up and watching them with dark eyes.

They only seemed to be talking so far, but Gabriel couldn't stop the possessiveness that grew in his chest. It didn't matter that he hadn't known Sam but a week. He wanted to date the pretty moose, and he hoped that this girl wasn't going to get in his way because Sam genuinely seemed to like her if that warm smile was anything to go by.

So, he opted for the best choice he could come up with, shuffling over to the drawer where he kept his random objects that had no other place in his room and pulled out his Nerf gun, touching the crack in the plastic with a small smile on his face. Shaking his head, he turned back to the task at hand, making sure it was loaded with darts before creeping back over to the window, seeing that he was no longer in their peripheral, and pushing it open.

It was cold, and he grumbled at himself for not having his sweatshirt on, but pushed it to the back of his mind as he pointed the nerf gun at Sam's window, aiming a little to the right before pulling the trigger. He grinned as it hit the window and stuck there, his tongue poking at his cheek as he fired off several more in succession, each one landing on the glass pane with a soft pop.

Gabriel was almost sure he was going to have to reload the gun when Sam stormed into view, pulling open the window and showering darts into and out of his room, "What the hell do you want, Gabriel?" Sam asked in exasperation, the red-head peeking over from her spot on the bed to get a good look at Sam's neighbor.

Gabriel puts his hands on his hips, looking at Sam with an arched brow, "Who's that?" Gabriel asked, a little bit of his jealousy making its way into his voice. Sam furrowed his brows in confusion, but the girl's face lit up, looking between Sam and Gabriel with curious eyes.

"My name's Charlie," She answered for Sam, a pleasant smile on her face that made Gabriel want to like her. She seemed so cool in a nerdy way, but he shook his head. Now was not the time to make friends with potential competition.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" Gabriel asked as if he were talking about business rather than personal life. Charlie gave him a sympathetic smile, shaking her head in response, and watching as Gabriel's shoulders sagged a little bit in relief, "Do you want one?" He added afterward, ignoring the glare he got from Sam. He knew he was being rude, but dammit, the Moose was worth it.

"No, I'm good," Charlie stated, a small giggle leaving her lips as Gabriel smiled in relief, his thumb running across the pane of the window before he looked between the two one more time.

"Good," Gabriel stated, shutting his window and getting out of view of them. He replaced his nerf gun back in the drawer, lying on his bed and letting out a sigh. A smile split his face, and he let out a little giggle, wriggling on the bed a little at the thought that he still has a chance with Sam, if he didn't ruin it with that stunt there.

He felt a little bad about being so rude, though, and Gabriel stared up at the ceiling almost wistfully, closing his eyes and pressing his lips into a thin line. He was going to have to apologize later, maybe when he was no longer grounded since Castiel would get angry at him for sneaking out, not that he would do that anyways.

Sam's light flicked off maybe an hour or so later, and Gabriel's stomach rumbling made it clear that it was around dinner time. He sat up, debating on whether or not to see if Castiel was back or not. He stopped to write a note though, drawing a little face on it before stepping back and looking at it.

'Sorry for being such a dick T.T'

Deeming it decent enough, he taped it to the window before leaving the room, keeping the light on so it illuminated the note in case Sam got back before he did. He wasn't surprised to find Castiel not back, though, searching in the refrigerator and finding a note attached to a plate wrapped in plastic with what looked like Dean's cooking inside.

'This is so you don't burn the house down while we're gone. Dean'

Gabriel rolled his eyes at the note, but he pulled the plastic off, sniffing at the pasta that rested on the plate before sticking it in the microwave. He turned it on, turning back to the fridge and finding shredded cheese in one of the shelves. He pulled it, taking out his pasta half way through and dumping a handful of cheese on it before sticking it back inside, smiling at the smell of the sauce filling the air.

When the microwave beeped a final time, he took it out and dug in, walking around in the kitchen as he shoveled pasta into his mouth, finally finding a spot to stand still at the counter while he looked out the kitchen window, finding the silence sort of comforting, only the sound of his fork tapping on his plate cutting through the quiet. It didn't take him long to finish before he was placing the empty plate in the sink, running water in it before heading back to his room.

He sat back at his desk, looking back at the scribbles, only to perk up a little when he heard a clink on his window. He glanced over at the glass curiously, walking over and finding that Sam was closing his own window, resting the notebook on his window and blushing a little when he saw Gabriel.

'It's okay...By the way, she's gay.'

Sam looked down at his feet, so incredibly shy, and Gabriel started grinning, his own cheeks turning red at how cute he was. Gabriel flipped to a new page on his notebook, grabbing his marker and scribbling another message on it. He placed it on his window, catching Sam with a small wave of his hand.

'So...Do I have a chance then?'

Gabriel did his best to give Sam his most hopeful face when Sam looked up at him, his cheeks seeming a permanent stain of red that was beginning to spread to his ears. Sam grabbed his own notebook, turning to a new page and hiding to the side of the window, out of Gabriel's view. Gabriel huffed, but he waited, counting up to fifty seconds in his head before Sam finally came back, his face carefully stoic as he held his notebook up where Gabriel could see.

'No.'

Gabriel smiled though, not deterred at all as he flipped once again to a new page, writing his note down and holding it up, his lips transforming his smile into a smirk when Sam turned brighter red.

'You hesitated.'

"I did not hesitate!" Sam shouted, muffled through both windows and shocking Gabriel at the sudden outburst. It didn't matter, though. His face betrayed him, and Gabriel was so going to tease Sam about this forever.

For now, though, they scrambled to hide the evidence of ever chatting when a light flicked on in Sam's living room, meaning that Mary was woken up.
