Yukiko's POV

I quickly buttoned up my watermelon collar shirt as I looked in the mirror. I poked at my face to check for any pimples or imperfections that I missed while rushing to get ready. I can't believe I had forgotten tonight was prom.

I flat ironed my multi colored hair and brushed it out. I hoped Akio would like the red rose I had bought for her. We had all been permitted to go home for the evening and get ready with our families. Some people chose to stay in the dorms out of fear but with two hero parents I was not among them.

My room was painted gray with splashes of pink and green around the room. My celling was still stuck with small glow in the dark stars that my Grandpa Allmight had put up before I was born. I smiled at the memory. Due to all my busy school life I hadn't seen either of my grandparents. I sighed, I just hoped Grandpa Allmight was doing better and not letting his sickness get the best of him.

I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes shone with excitement but my stomach twisted in fear. Akio has been mine for several years but with the end of our second year approaching the push of peer pressure to become mated or give her up was laid hard upon my chest. It wasn't that I didn't want to, I just wanted Akio to be free to choose what she wanted for herself. Mating is permanent and I knew Akio well enough to know doing it would give her terrible anxiety.

I was brought out of my thoughts from the snap of a camera. I turned around to find Dad filming me on his phone and Papa taking pictures on his. I frowned and quickly rushed to take the phone from them.

"Hey! No fair, how'd you even know I was ready!?" I said exasperated as they used their height as an advantage against me. I pouted with my arms to my chest as my dads chuckled to themselves.

"We just wanted some cute pictures of you for memory and your father thought it would be funny to catch your reaction to it." explained papa.

I sighed and nodded knowing this cycle would never end if I argued.

"Are you ready to go?" Asked Dad as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his car keys.

I nodded nervously and kissed papa on the cheek goodbye. Papa had to stay home and fill out some paper for my grandfathers agency. My grandfather Endevor had never acknowledged my existence until I won the school sports festival last year and displayed my quirk. Papa was trying to get a restraining order out against my grandfather and I didn't blame him, the man was insane.

*Later at the school gates*

"Yukiko, be careful out there, I know you think your ready for anything but your wounds have barely healed from the fight where we captured Kingston." My Dad said as he patted my head.

"Dad I've got the best hero's in the world as my teachers and am the top hero in my class, I can do this." I stated as I got out of the car. My converse instantly sunk into a puddle of water and I grimaced. I should have checked before I stepped out.

I heard my Dad chuckle as I turned to shut the door behind me. "We love you Yukiko, now go show Akio a good night." My Dad said with a wink.

My entire face flushed red and I slammed the door in his face. He just laughed and drove off. I gulped down any last bits of fear as I walked up and entered the party.

Akio was standing with Sumire and Azura at the snack table as they conversed in idle chit chat. Two of the girls eyes widen as they saw me and Akio looked at them confused soon following their gaze. She turned bright red and fiddled with the ends of her small white jacket thing. She was wearing a sparkly blue dress that didn't pass her knees and and a pair of black heels. Those were most likely insisted on by the girls as Akio hated high heels, they gave her anxiety she claimed.

I cleared my throat and stepped forward, I myself was dressed in a watermelon patterned button up shirt and a black skirt that went to my lower thighs and some black converse. I gently grabbed ahold of Akio's hand and she smiled back at me.

I pulled the red rose from my back pocket and handed it to her. It had flipped to one side and was missing a considerable amount of pedals but she just smiled and held it close.

"You look beautiful." I said a little to abruptly. She giggled and replied with "You do as well.".

Our star struck haze didn't last for long as we were bumped into by Natsu as he paced the room. He had his hair slicked back and was wearing a black and blue tux that looked like he'd bought it from the thrift store. His red eyes were puffy and filled with concern.

I kicked my childhood friends leg to get his attention. He shivered at the now wet spot in his blue pants.

"What?" He asked as he kept looking back and forth from the door.

"What's up with you, you look like you've seen a ghost." I said as Akio hid behind me sensing a fight in the making.

"I-I was so caught up in my books I forgot to get flowers a-and I forgot to ask Umeko to prom...s-she's been ignoring all of my texts since yesterday." he stated.

Natsu looked more disheveled then I'd seen him in years but I couldn't help but bust out laughing. Everyone starred at us for a second before going back to what they were doing.

Natsu growled at me his alpha scent spiking with anger. I just let out a calming but strong scent to show him I wasn't backing down.

"How could you do that to your girlfriend, the poor girl, it probably broke her heart." said a sad faced Dice as he joined us with Kyoto in tow. Kyoto was still wrapped in bandages under his long sleeved white shirt and black tie. His black pants smelled of blood as he awkwardly adjusted his mask behind Dice.

Natsu growled at Dice before Kyoto put a hand on his shoulder. I'd never seen Kyoto have such anger before but his piercing blue eyes got the message across and Natsu calmed down.

We heard a gasp as the doors to the room opened to see Umeko all alone in a beautiful pink gown. She speed waked over to Azura and Sumire who hugged her instantly.

Natsu faintly reached out a hand towards her but quickly retracted it knowing there was no use.

I sighed, this was going to be a long night-

An explosion caught all of our attention as the celling busted open.

"HERES MIDNIGHT!!!"
