Chapter 13: The Night...?

Armin, the cautious blond, changed into the clothes I had given him. He looked back every so often to make sure I was not looking at him. His nervousness around me upset me because I just wanted him to feel comfortable around me. I was not going to purposely go and sneak a peek at him, especially not now. I did not like how he made me feel like I'm so perverted. I mean, in a way, I guess I was. But still, it absolutely did hurt my feelings. I waited what seemed to be an eternity before he finished dressing. "I'm done. You can look now," he told me from across the room.

I turned around and looked at him. He looked so cozy in my clothes and it made me feel so fuzzy inside. I just felt like I wanted to hug him forever. Such a precious boy. Although, I decided not to make note of this because I knew that he would end up getting upset. He was so sensitive and did not like compliments because he never believed them himself.

"Okay, so we'll go back now. I can give you your clothes tomorrow, okay?"

"Sure," he replied. I drew out a portal with my right hand and I held his hand with my left.

"You ready?"

I wanted to make sure that we would not have to make another trip back so soon. He nodded and I yanked him into the portal, making him trip a little behind me. Almost no time later, we were back in my cold, dark cabin. Chills ran up my spine. I was already missing the warmth of my heated home. The portal closed behind me. By now, it was really late. I grabbed my watch from underneath my bed. It read 1:27 am. I didn't remember this much time passing by. No wonder Armin and I were so exhausted. I rubbed my eyes and sat down on my bed. Armin walked towards the cabin door.

"I should probably go, thanks," he said, then yawning. "Yeah no, you kind of can't," I stated. "Huh, why not?" he asked, obviously confused. "First off, it's incredibly late. You don't even have shoes on. Also, weren't you locked out, anyway?" I noted. He looked down with disappointment on his face. "Just stay, it's fine," I offered. I patted on a spot on my bed. "With you?" he exclaimed. "Stop making it weird. We're friends, it's fine," I groaned.

"B-But in the same bed?"

"I'll sleep on the couch if you want?"

I was actually willing to sleep on the couch if it meant that he felt comfortable. He stood in silence for an awkwardly long minute before replying. He walked over towards me, his shoulders visibly stiff. I moved over toward the wall, leaving some space for him on my bed. He cautiously sat down beside me and pulled the covers up over his lap. He made sure not to let even an inch of himself touch me. I didn't understand why he had to make things so weird between us. We were good friends. I slipped underneath the covers and closed my eyes. "Goodnight, Armin," I whispered. "G-Goodnight, Y/N," he whispered back to me. He snuck his way under the covers and lay like a stick. He could sleep however he wanted. I ignored his discomfort and swiftly fell into a deep sleep.
