"She's, uh," Rex cleared his throat while Anakin crossed his arms over his chest in response to the sight before the two of them, "she's doing it again."

"With the noises?" Anakin sighed as the familiar sound of his men's laughter echoed throughout the room, Ahsoka's in the center of it all, loud and clear.

"Yes," Rex responded. "The boys get a real kick out of it."

"But they're losing focus, right?" Anakin asked.

"They are."

Anakin looked down at his feet, shaking his head before biting back a laugh as his padawan did it again—

"Pew, pew! Pee, pew, pew!" she chirped as she fired her blasters.

"I'm sorry, Rex. It-it's funny but if she's interfering with your training, then she should just have private lessons instead."

Rex arched an eyebrow.

"Oh, it's no problem. Sir. It gives them a rare something to smile about. We're happy to have her at practice with us," Rex promised, watching Anakin's expression fall slightly. "What is it?"

Anakin glanced over to Rex for a few moments before turning back to watch Ahsoka and the 501st men practice hitting the targets with their blasters.

"I don't know," he muttered. "It just makes you think—seeing her goofing off like a kid—if she should really be fighting this war at all."

Ahsoka laughed again from the group in front of them.

"Yeah, I suppose you're right."

The pair watched for a few more moments before Anakin called,

"Snips!"

The girl came bounding over to them, smiling brightly.

"What is it, Master?" she asked cheerfully.

Anakin smiled back and placed a hand on her head, between her montrals.

"Go get cleaned up," he said, scratching playfully to make her giggle and squirm, "I'm taking you out for dinner."

Somehow, her smile grew before she raced out of the training room, Anakin shaking his head at her as he watched her run.

"She shouldn't," Rex agreed.

"Hmm?"

"She shouldn't be fighting at this age." And neither should you, he wanted to add.

"No," Anakin said, "so we need to do everything in our power to protect her and her innocence for as long as we can."

Rex nodded, fully in agreement.

"Yes, Sir."

"Now, if you'll excuse me," Anakin said, beginning to walk off with a teasing smile, "I have a date."
