Scarlett's Pov~

Rai walked out with me and headed towards the forest. We walked for a couple of hours and there we was at the edge of the forest.

"Please dear goddess Dracul protect us while we search for herbs." Rai said with his head hanging a bit.

I lowered my head and prayed as well. "Please dear goddess Dracul protect us while we search for herbs."

'I'll watch over you my children. Be safe and stay together.' a rough but soft female voice said in my mind.

I opened my eyes and headed into the forest with Rai. As I lead I could see something come up in front of me. It looked to be a detailed map with a lot of markers on it. I looked around and then headed in a path that said herbs.

Once we got to the spot it closed and I could see names of different herbs pop up near the herbs themselves. I reached into my item box and pulled out the books I had seen in it with my money. I opened the book and read over it, its about herbs.

I skimmed through it until I found the herbs we're looking for and walked around the small clearing, and started looking until I found that herbs. I crouched down and started picking the herbs for the mission.

"Kate's right your really good at this. What was your name by the way?" Rai said snapping me out of my forcus.

"My name is Scarlett and I'm surprised I'm this good as well. But I'm glad to be able to help you sir Rai." I said not thinking.

"Hahaha! I'm not old enough to be called sir, I'm in my early 20s. By the way Scarlett how old are you?" He laughed and then got beside me and asked as we started picking the same herb.

"According to my card I'm 30. Why does that bother you?" I asked and glanced at him out of the corner of my eye.

"No just surprised me is all. You don't look your age. Thank you for helping me with this my master burned himself trying to teach me blacksmithing." Rai said with a frown. "I'm not the best at it I'm better at jewelry then tools and weapons."

I hummed and then smiled at him. "Maybe someday you can make me a bracelet that has a compass on it so I'll never get lost." I said to him and tied the herbs together.

He laughed and then nodded. As we finished gathering the herbs we came for, I looked up and seen it was getting dark out. "It's getting late better head back to town. Thank you for my first mission." I said and smiled at Rai.

We exited the forest and I seen the sun lights start to disappear behind the trees. We headed back to the guild and reported and turned in any extras we gathered. Rai payed the guild and then they payed me for my time and what ever Rai told them. We exited the building.

Rai headed back up the snow mountain. I waved good bye to him as he left to get back to his Master. I sighed and looked up at the sky. The stars are shining brightly and you can see the galaxy above. I smiled and started walking around the town before I get tired and head back to the inn.

As I was walking I seen father's carry their kids back to their houses while wife's waited at the door for them. It was peaceful here and I wouldn't mind staying a bit longer. It felt right and I loved the feeling. But there was a pain in my chest like I'm missing something.

I frowned and held my chest a bit before looking up and nodding to myself. As the night air started to grow colder I headed back to the inn and up to my room for the night.

Once I made it to my room I thought about the voice I heard outside the forest. Thinking on it I decided to try praying again.
"Goddess Dracul I don't know what to do. Do you have some advice to give me?" I asked in a prayer.

'Hello child, I'm glad your asking for help. Well I've given you skills like everyone else in the world to help you make your life more enjoyable and easier to live. But I would rather you all take your life day by day." Goddess Dracul said before going quite.

I got up and sat on the window seal before opening my status menu.

"Let's see, herbalist, chef, and survivor, are my highest abilities. I also have first aid, teacher, and maker as minor abilities." I said to myself as I looked at my status.

I thought a bit about it and then got up and turned off the light and headed to bed for the night.
