The futuristic 'students' were once again enjoying their university days while sitting on the bench in the playground. They attended classes, went for short breaks, socialised with their classmates they've long forgotten due to busy schedule and even enjoyed those lectures which they used to hate when they were teens. Certainly, adulthood took the best out of them but nothing could beat those carefree days they were presently living, once again.

They all were sitting quietly on the same bench, waiting for their counterparts to win the game because the forty eight hour time limit was over by now.

"Guys, do you think they won the game?" Calista questioned, anxiously, uncertain of the outcomes.

Everyone looked at her but no one had an answer until, suddenly, the hologram popped out of their devices and spoke out, catching them off-guard. They stood in their places eagerly waiting for the virtual device to speak up and convey a positive message.

"Your counterparts found a way to win 'Snapshot- the futuristic game', now you all can go back to where you initially belonged." It proclaimed and they let out a breath, they didn't know they were holding for how long whilst smiling happily.

Without even getting a single moment to meet their younger selves, they disappeared along with the hologram and their counterparts; the eighteen year olds returned back to the same place they went missing- the university playground.

They carried the same outfit into which they disappeared and their bodies became the same as before. Leaving a breath of relief and steadily opening their eyes, their happiness was on cloud nine to see themselves in their original timeline.

"Uhh! My head hurts!" Calista tutted whilst holding her head and Jungkook was fast enough to hold her by her arm, checking whether she's hurt but to everyone's surprise, she appeared the same way she was before - short brownish hair, baggy clothes, minimal makeup, piercing in her ears and above all, no signs of serious injury.

Jungkook's eyes glistened, seeing her as fine as ever and he couldn't help but pull her into a tight hug, making the girl flinch by surprise but soon, she gave in and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Y-you're alright, Calista!" He exclaimed, his heart palpitating against hers.

"Yes, I am!" She replied back and both of them jumped whilst hugging each other like small kids.

On the other hand, Taehyung became red as a tomato seeing Ruby because he's aware of the future and now, even matching eyes with her made a whole zoo arouse down his gut. They both maintained a metre distance from each other as they realised the awkwardness of their situation.

Meanwhile, Jimin picked up Jena in his arms and twirled her around in happiness. She shouted and wiggled in his hold whilst hitting his arms by her tightened fists but nothing seemed to make him let her go. He was brimming with joy and smiling ear to ear.

"You monkey! Put me down!" She ordered but he swung her with happiness.

"We're finally back, Jena!" He proclaimed loudly and she halted in her actions, staring at his smiling face, those adorable cheeks.

Slowly, she caressed his face and he leaned in to her touch, still in the same position as she nodded, smiling back.

"We're back." She muttered under her breath as their noses touched while she tightly wrapped her arms around his neck for support.

Jungkook and Calista of future, apologized to each other for the huge misunderstanding that was created, Jimin and Jena happily got married and as for Taehyung and Ruby, they cried their hearts out seeing their son, Taeho, well and fine sleeping peacefully at Jungkook's place. That little kid wasn't even aware that the people he spent a day with were the younger version of his parents.

Everyone was happy in the future and continued with their daily normal lives, sometimes wondering about their younger selves and having that wish to meet them once.

But their years old counterparts were having a different whirlwind of emotions.

1 MONTH LATER

It was officially a month since they all returned back from their adventure of the future. They all took it as an adventurous nightmare and made sure to never talk about it again because at some point, what the future beholds made them uncomfortable and so, they decided to be the way they were.

To their utmost surprise, they got to know that the psychology professor quit the university a month back and no trace of him could be seen after that. Soon, they all deleted the 'Snapshot' app and vowed to never use it again, even seeing the icon of that app gave them chills down their spine.

There they sat on the same bench of the university playground relishing the taste of the cold popsicles, which was surely giving them relief in this scorching hot weather. The sunrays kissed their faces as they sat side by side. Jungkook and Calista were peacefully enjoying the taste of the amazing ice cream whilst being the eye witnesses of the scenes transpiring between their friends, while Ruby was jumping like a little girl and following Taehyung who seemed to be ignoring her for a month by now and as for Jimin and Jena, they annoyed each other as if their lives depended on it.

"Yah! Kim Taehyung stop right there!" Ruby screamed on top of her lungs but he just ignored her and so, the girl decided to take a bold move. Consuming a deep breath and closing her eyes for a moment, she released her breath and gazed straight at the male's retreating back, soon followed by her ear-peircing loud voice.

"Kim Taehyung, will you become the father of my child?!" She yelled, making everyone's eyes widen. Jimin and Jena halted their actions of pulling each other's hair while Jungkook and Calista's popsicles fell from their hands, their mouths flung open from shock.

Taehyung instantly stopped at his position and turned whilst running at the speed of light and tightly put his palm on Ruby's mouth, to shut her up from speaking anymore nonsense.

"Mmph!" She wriggled under his hold and he tightened his hold. Once he was sure she wouldn't scream anymore, he subsided his hand from her mouth.

"Can you be any more obscene?!" He asked, shaken by her boldness, his voice raised due to annoyance.

"Date me!" She confessed confidently, making his ears go red. His breath hitched, as he stood still on his position without replying. When he didn't reply for a solid five minutes, the girl stomped her foot in frustration and decided to speak her last resort, her lips curled up into a devilish smirk.

The others silently enjoyed the drama unfolding. Jimin and Jena even sat on the grassland, sipping their cold drinks and munching on the popcorn that magically appeared out of nowhere.

"Yes or no? Else I'm gonna date some other person-" She threatened, straightaway lying on his face but a pang of jealousy took control over his system and he instantly crashed his lips upon hers. She was certainly, taken aback by surprise but soon, she gave in and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to herself as she reciprocated the motion. Their lips colliding at the perfect pace as they smiled in each other's tranquil embrace.

The other four friends clapped in awe looking at the scene unfolding.

"This is a deleted scene from your life. Kids shouldn't be allowed to see such things." Jimin playfully covered Jena's eyes, referring to the kiss unfolding between their friends as he snickered, smirking.

To his response, Jena jerked off his hand and glared at the male. In a moment she slapped on his butt and ran away, once again making him annoyed as ever. He ran behind her whilst shouting her name.

"Stop right there, Jena! You're so dead today!" He yelled from the back and Jena increased her speed but to her dismay, her foot slipped due to the small stone on the ground and she fell, bruising her knee.

Calista, who was observing the two for a quite a while, instantly got up from her position to help her friend but Jungkook held her back by holding her arm, shaking his head as 'no'.

"Let them deal with it." He tutted, making her brows furrow in confusion but still, she nodded and chose to follow his words.

Jimin's expressions instantly flipped from being annoyed to being concerned. He bent on his knee in front of Jena and carefully held her knee, pure concern was visible on his face as he blew a little on her bruised knee.

"Who told you run like a cat? You're as clumsy as ever!" He scolded lightly, tying his handkerchief around her injured area.
She hissed in pain and he looked at her worriedly.

"Does it pain a lot?" He enquired and she shook her head. She looked at him tending to her wound so carefully as if she might break with such a minute injury. Something changed between them when they returned from the future and they both were aware of that, sometimes annoying each other as a cope up mechanism but feelings can't be ignored.

Love reaches its destination one way or the other.

"Don't be so kind to me, Jimin." She warned, deeply staring into his eyes.

"It's my choice and you can't stop me from doing that." He stood still on his ground, the intense stare not breaking between them.

"Its making me fall harder for you..." She confessed, looking straight into his soul. He chuckled at her honest reply.

"That's cool because we are going to get married in the very future." He affirmed, chuckling lightly and the girl giggled along with him. Slowly, she wrapped her arms around him, embracing the flustered boy into her a delightful and loving hug, smiling ear to ear.

Meanwhile, Jungkook and Calista sat still in their positions, observing the beautiful scene unfolding.

"They'll make a great couple." Calista affirmed, smiling and Jungkook lightly tapped on her hand catching her attention.

"What about us?" He hinted on their relationship but she sighed, her smile fell off her face.

"They said we got into a huge argument because you cheated on me, in future. If that's already going to happen... I don't want to hold onto something that is, in turn, going to break me in future." She reflected her concerns but the male tightly held her palm.

"I won't cheat on you, I'm certain. There must've been some misunderstanding." He proclaimed but the girl gazed at him, perplexed.

"How are you so sure?" She cocked her perfectly plucked brow at him but he just smiled dotingly.

"Because you're the girl I wish to spend my life with and I would never, never cheat on you. I like you, Calista Choi." He mustered all his courage and spoke in one go, making her eyes go wide, baffled. Yet she stood firm on her seat and a small smile lit upon her face.

"Will you give me a chance?" He asked out, his eyes lingering with a small hope.

She thought for a moment and then slowly nodded with a small smile, "Yes." She replied and then they both hugged each other, feeling each other's warmth.

They're aware of their horrific future, but what makes life worth living is the memories created in the present. There's no use holding to the past or being intimidated by the future because it's the present that decides what is going to transpire.

It's the present we all have.

3 MONTHS LATER

A group of students stood on the university playground, making fun of the psychology teacher who left the university three months before. Well, the professor became a legendary meme on the university social media pages, specifically having a page dedicated to him called as the "professor underpants".

"He looked so funny!" Chloe laughed, making fun of the prof. The playground was as empty as ever because the group of friends bunked their classes to hang out.

"That underwear of his!" They all erupted into a roar of laughter, at her hilarious comment.

"Guys let's click a picture from this new filter app, Snapshot!" Alex spoke out nudging his friend, Chloe who nodded her head in agreement.

"Yes, let's do that!" Sam agreed and the four of them stood beside each other, unknown to the psychology professor who just walked behind them and...

A picture was clicked.

"Guys, wasn't that our psychology prof?" Chole asked, perplexed.

"But he left three months ago!" Evan expressed his shock, a shiver ran down their spines but it was too late because they already vanished into thin air.

"That's what they get for disrespecting me." The professor muttered, smirking.

POTATO'S NOTE:

Well that's the final chapter of Snapshot. Well, I purposely left the plot on a cliffhanger to make it interesting. It's not actually a game of fate but a 'loop' of fate. What are your theories?

And, do you wish to have a second season? 👀

Some info about the plot:
As I mentioned in the beginning, this story was suggested to me by one of my close friends, Golden. When I told her about converting her idea into a short story, 'shocked' would be an understatement for her expressions. She was so excited to read it and honestly, that was my motivation to write this story. :)

I enjoyed writing each and every chapter of it, even though I was going through a very rough phase for the past few months, this story served as my escape.

What are your reviews on the plot?

Who is favourite couple out of the three? 👀
