26 - In The Rain

*Thomas' POV*

It'd been...two weeks since I'd last seen (Y/N). Making it two and a half months since we'd begun working together.

Shit, a lot happened since then.

I'm gonna be honest, I haven't even bothered to try and pick myself up again. I was being pretty pathetic about it but hey, can you blame me?

"Yes you are." James muttered, deadpan while sipping his tea.

"You're not supposed to agree with me!"

"I've been telling you that your being stupid for the past two weeks."

"Y'know, I think I need to find a new best friend because my current one is broken." I glared at James. He sighed and set his cup down.

"I'm all ears to listen to your problems in life." He said sarcastically, making me throw a pillow at him.

"James! I'm serious." I pouted.

"What do you expect me to do about it? You're the one that has to talk to her." He pointed out.

"And how am I supposed to get to hers?" I mumbled. He gave me a deadpan look and folded his arms before I realised.

"I have a fucking car!" I jumped up and dragged my friend by the arm despite his protests.

"Why am I coming?" James sighed as I shoved him in the passenger seat of the car.

"You, are helping me. We need to stop off at the store first and you get a twenty percent discount." I smiled, looking behind me as I reversed out of the drive.

"Nice to know I'm wanted." Madison rolled his eyes.

"Shit, why is it raining now?" I slammed my forehead against the steering wheel and sighed. I was currently parked outside of (Y/N)'s home, thinking of all the ways this could possibly go wrong.

Eventually, I decided to face the music and stepped outside into the rain and walked up to the door, roses in my hand.

Nope! Can't do it!

I ran back to the car and pulled on the handle but the door stayed shut. I looked through the window to James who was smirking and shaking my keys.

The prick locked me out!

I pointed to the handle and he shook his head, still smiling. Twat.

He pointed to the door that opened, revealing a very pissed of Aaron.

Well fuck.

"Yes?" He hissed, crossing his arms.

"Is (Y/N) here?" I asked.

"Yes, I doubt she wants to see you."

"How would you know?" I asked, trying to keep calm. The last think I wanted was my possible-future-girlfriend's brother to be mad at me.

"One - you kissed your ex after sleeping with her. Two - you've been avoiding her since. And three - I know my sister like I know my own mind Thomas! She's the most trusting and kind person I have ever known! You shattered her! You flew too close to the sun!" There was fire burning behind Aaron's eyes. Fire fuelled by my stupidity and my sister's scheming.

"Aaron? What's going on?" Came a voice from inside. I have been longing for that symphony.

"Nothing. Don't worry." Aaron turned his head but (Y/N) was having none of it. She walked to the door and looked out at me.

"T-Thomas?" She whispered, a few tears gathering I her eyes. She wasn't in anything special; just leggings and a hoodie ( mine to be exact ).

"Hey Darlin'" I smiled back, voice cracking slightly from the lump in my throat.

Before I could process what was happening, the (Y/H/C) girl ran out of her house and jumped into my arms, legs secure around my hips and lips crashing into mine.

I dropped the flowers to catch her and smiled into the rain-soaked kiss.

The rain hid my tears I guess.

"I'm so sorry, I missed you so much." I whispered after pulling away. (Y/N) buried her face in my chest and mumbled something. "What?" I tilted her chin up.

"I'm home." She smiled. I looked at her confused, "In your arms," she explained. "I'm home."

I couldn't help it.

I kissed her again.
