In a small Kingdom in a lonely castle sat a friendly ruler on his throne, it was three in the morning and he couldn't sleep so he sat there and thought about things.
Including his advisor.

The way he would scurry to be at his side and remind him what he had planned for today.

The giggle that came from him as he listened to his jokes and thoughts.

The smooth scales on his face that went with his bright yellow snake eye.

And the messy way he looked when he was rushing around all day just to impress the ruler.

Roman continued to daydream when he heard a cough.

"Ehem" roman jumped to see a tired looking deceit, his hair messy and fluffy, his little fanged teeth when he yawned and the concerned look on his face.

"Oh hello janus" he smiled gently

"Is there something on your mind your majesty?  You should be in bed" the snake hybrid asked

"Oh I couldn't sleep so I Decided to sit and wait until it happens
Roman chuckled

"Ah I see...but it still isn't good for you" janus replied

Both stared at each other and admired the traits they secretly loved about each other.

Janus whispered dreamily "perfect...."

Roman looked surprised "w-whats perfect?"

Janus panicked "uhh t-the night! It's a perfect night!"

"Oh I suppose it is...come sit with me?" Roman suggested and smiled once more

"But only your throne is there-"

"I can stand!-" he quickly said "or you could sit on my lap?" He internally panicked

Janus blushed and murmured,still not used to the flirting that had been going on for maybe a year or more "I-i mean I wouldn't mind the second option"

Roman seemed to light up as he beckoned janus to come over to him

Janus shuffled over "I can always go back to my quarters if I'm annoying yo-"

Roman grabbed him by the waist and pulled him onto his lap "nonsense! I quite enjoy your company"

Janus smiled and curled up while roman hugged him-.....
