Xavier had told Esmeralda and everyone else who was friends with Wednesday to meet him at Joseph's Crackstones Crypt. It was Thursday, September 12th meaning Wednesday's birthday was just midnight.

Enid and Esmeralda had whipped up a cake for Wednesday. The two planned that they would make a note of where everyone would be.

"They should be coming soon, it's 11:56." Xavier checked his watch. "She takes awfully a long time getting here," Yoko claimed. "Yoko, can you please just once be like your usual self?" Marice asked as Yoko chuckled and nodded.

They heard a door open where Esmeralda gave party hats to them. Xavier coughed as a signal for them to jump out. Esmeralda gave wide eyes at Xavier's cough.

"Show yourself, you cowards. Try anything or you'll lose your limbs." Wednesday suggested. "Surprise!" They all cheered as Wednesday looked at them with no emotion. They all laughed.

They all sang Wednesday Happy Birthday while Enid walked in with the cake. Thing had a party hat on, and Wednesday shined her flashlight at him. "I should've known you were behind this," Wednesday told him.

" Actually it was Xavier and I's idea Nessy." Esmeralda smiled. Wednesday turned to her at the nickname. "I thought I told you I didn't want a party. I even stated No party under the penalty of death did you not understand?" She asked, Ajax looked at Esmeralda with a concerned look.

"I know Nessy but, I thought it would be a best friend gesture because it's your birthday, and I love doing birthday parties!" She smiled as Ajax chuckled.

"I thought my cake design was pretty inspiring," Xavier mentioned as Enid grinned showing off the cake. "The pink balloon was my idea. Why don't you make a wish?" Enid smiled and suggested.

Wednesday stood there before looking around before she spotted something in Latin. Esmerelda knew what it said, "Fire will rain... when I rise," Esmerelda and Wednesday both said together.

"That wasn't really a wish..." Enid told her, "That first part of the phrase was burned onto the lawn," Wednesday told them. "It can't be a coincidence." She added.

"Wait, we're never going to eat that cake, are we Essy?" Ajax asked looking at her while placing his arm around her. Esmerelda shook her head, "Nope." She replied with a sigh.

Wednesday placed her hand around the phrase. She touched one of the words which made her fall back into a vision. "Is she okay?" Divina asked as Enid placed the cake down to wake her up.

"It's another vision, Enid..." Esmerelda told her, "it's the third one this week," She added.

Ajax and the others had confused looks on their faces as they'd never seen Wednesday have one of these in front of her.

The morning after Wednesday had her vision everyone acted as if nothing happened. Esmerelda walked to the lawn where the fire was. She noticed Xavier and Wednesday talking.

Xavier had told her how they weren't on speaking terms and somehow they were talking. "Wednesday! Can I speak to you for a minute?" Esmerelda asked. Wednesday took a look at Xavier then stepped away to speak with Esmerelda

"I assume this is about Xavier since you infrequently speak with me now," Wednesday spoke fixing her bag. "I speak with you! Either about Enid... and anything else... important." Esmerelda added.

"Besides that, I thought you two weren't on speaking terms?" She asked. "We're not, but I'm not ready to speak to him anyways so..." Wednesday replied. Esmeralda nodded. "Fine, I get it, I was like that with Marice for a couple of months, but, um, if you ever need help with something or anything else, you know who to come to." Esmerelda smiled before extending her arm for Wednesday to shake.

"Gladly." Wednesday shook her arm with a few thoughts and plans in her mind. "I have a session with Kinbot now, so if you'll excuse me." Wednesday lied about having a session with Kinbott just to go see Eugune.

Esmerelda smiled. "Good luck!" As Wednesday left. Xavier walked to Esmerelda to ask something. "Hey, Uhm, Esme, is Mars mad at me? I know we had that fight before the Rave'N I just wanted to know if she still is."

"She's not. You took Bianca to the dance without apologizing after," Esmerelda replied. "Xavier, I have to go, sorry. Maybe paint something for Mars then she'll forgive you."

Esmerelda walked away.

Esmeralda was studying at 7 P.M when she heard a knock on her door. She looked up and then closed her books before answering the door.

Enid and Wednesday both had stuff on their heads. Esmeralda furrowed her brows. "Not a word," Wednesday spoke.

She nodded. "We need to communicate with each other more. Remember how you told me if I ever needed help with something? Well, this is something. Come on," Wednesday spoke. "We're having a girl's night! Finally!" Enid cheered as Esmeralda grabbed her shoes before she closed and left with Enid and Wednesday.

They all walked outside of the side gates. From afar they could see a car. "You got us an Uber? Wednesday, I love you!" Enid cheered.

Wednesday was the first to enter the car, Enid and Esmeralda after. "Wait...? He's our Uber driver?" Enid asked, Tyler looked at the two girls. "Uber driver? I thought we were going on a date."

"We thought this was a girl's night!?" Esmeralda stated. "There's been a change of plans," Wednesday added.

Esmeralda, Enid, and Tyler all exchanged looks. "Why don't you have a matching hoodie scarf thing?" Tyler asked Esmeralda. "Oh! thing didn't have enough time to knit me one, he's making one for me though don't worry," Esmeralda replied and smiled.

"Just drive," Wednesday spoke. Tyler soon started his car before driving. "Hey, Wednesday. You never told us what we're doing or where we're going..." Enid announced. Esmeralda agreed.

"The Gates House," Wednesday announced. "Where is that at?" Enid and Esmeralda asked. Tyler stood quiet as he made a turn that led to the Gates's house.

Tyler soon arrived as he stopped the car and got out. "You want to go in there? It's like the Creel house from Stranger Things!"

Wednesday explained how she didn't want to celebrate her birthday or go out for dinner, she wanted to go to the Gates' house.

Wednesday pic-locked the lock on the fence before opening it. "If you wanna go, you can. I wanna check out the garage." Wednesday suggested.

Tyler, Enid, and Esmeralda shared looks before they walked behind Wednesday. The gate creaked around Enid giving her the jeepers creepers. Wednesday walked to a door trying to open it.

She couldn't, Tyler suggested that he should try opening it, but he failed. Esmeralda knew she could and wouldn't open it, so she didn't bother.

Enid successfully opened the door and blamed it on her werewolf abilities. Wednesday switched on the lights and investigated the garage. "This is the car that hit the Mayor," Wednesday announced as she pulled the cover off the car.

"This just took a dark turn," Enid announced scared. Enid suggested that they call Tyler's dad but Wednesday defended herself. "Enid's right Nessy, it would be a lot easier, and I'll have your back if you get expelled," Esmeralda claimed.

The three followed Wednesday into the house to investigate the house. Wednesday looked into a library where she found a alter of Joesph Crackstone. Enid commented on it. "Ours is in the living room," Wednesday replied back. "More seating for year-long Dia de Los Muertos," Wednesday added.

"Don't worry, I have one too. All the way back to the first ever shape-shifters." Esmeralda brightened the mood. Enid whimpers. Wednesday checked out the room, feeling the candles.

She said they were still warm like someone blew them out. "Tyler you check the rest of the ground floor. Enid, Esmeralda, and I will search upstairs." Wednesday spoke leaving the room as the two girls followed her. They climbed up the stairs heading to the floorboard creak.

Enid had a scared look on her face. "We split up. You two go left, I go right." Wednesday spoke. "You wanna go by yourself? Alone? In here? That is literally how every best friend dies in a horror movie." Enid ranted as Wednesday gave a small nod. "The faster we search the sooner you can leave."

Enid and Esmeralda turned away before walking and investigating, "Relax Enid. I'm here. You want me to hold your hand?" Esmeralda asked as Enid nodded and grabbed her hand forcefully.

Enid and Esmeralda peer into a vacant room. Enid says stuff to herself before Esmeralda noticed. "Get your mom out of your head. You told her off already!" Esmeralda spoke. Enid nodded, "You're right." Enid shuts her eyes close tight before she opened them again.

Enid and Esmeralda stepped through a doorway. While walking in the doorway the two girls passed by a room with a made bed and fresh flowers. Enid and Esmeralda exchanged looks. "Wednesday, you need to see this," Enid calls out.

Wednesday's footsteps could be heard. "The bed's made, fresh flowers, folded clothes. Everything." Esmeralda spoke as Wednesday shines her flashlight around everything.

The three girls heard objects clattering before they all left the room. Wednesday had taken the box that had LG on it. Enid claimed that it was the worst girls' night ever. Esmeralda agreed.

"Guys! Get out! It's here!" Tyler could be heard downstairs. The monster's shadow could be seen. "The dumbwaiter. Go!" Wednesday rushes them in. Wednesday closes the door shut as the monster gets closer. Enid panicked and Esmeralda fidgets with her hands.

Wednesday had taken off her snood to secure the doors. "Not your snood!" Enid announced. Wednesday stopped her. The monster's claws slashed through the thin metal door.

The dumbwaiter rope breaks. Enid and Esmeralda screamed as they fell and tumbled out into a gloomy basement. Enid coughs as they get to their feet. Wednesday turned on a light to see body parts in jars. Enid and Esmeralda were wide-eyed.

Dust rained down as they heard giant footsteps. They rushed to a narrow window against the wall. Enid opened the window as she climbed out Esmeralda was next. "Wednesday come on! Hurry!" Enid called out for her. "These are the body parts of the monster's victims!"

Wednesday jumped out and shut the window in the monster's face.

"You guys okay?" Wednesday asked. "Since when do you care?" Enid storms off as she takes Esmeralda's arms with her.

The three girls go out into the woods before Enid turns around. "Wednesday what are you thinking?" Enid asked. "We have to go back for Tyler!" Wednesday called out running back to the Gates' house.

"I swear I'm going to kill her one day!" Enid groaned. "She'll like it," Esmeralda added as they rushed for Wednesday.

Tyler sits in the arched entryway. Blood soaks his shirt over his chest. "Enid hold this." Wednesday hands her the flashlight. "That thing is still inside!" Enid announced. Xavier appears. "Where'd you come from?" Wednesday asked as she noticed his presence. "Here," Xavier hands her his scarf. "Marice told you guys were here," Xavier added. Wednesday stared at Xavier.

She didn't believe one word he said.

At Tyler's house, Wednesday places a skinny bandaid on one of the gashes on Tyler's chest. Enid said that she was having a full-blown panic attack right now. "Same here," Esmeralda added. "We need to get back before Weems realizes we've been gone,"

"Think she already knowns since it's 9 P.M." Xavier announced, Tyler's dad had entered the house seeing the five sitting at the table. One of them was injured. "What the hell happened?" Galpin asked. Tyler stopped his dad from going crazy on Wednesday.

"Sherriff I under you're upset but I think you need to see something," Wednesday told him. "After I take you three back to Nevermore," Galpin replied.

Esmeralda and Enid begged him to take them back while Xavier followed them. The ride back was quiet before they arrived at Nevermore. "You three get to bed now."

Enid nodded before they all rushed inside. Ajax, Marice, and Weems were all standing there. Ajax rushed to his girlfriend's side before kissing her. "Are you okay? Marice told me where you went," Ajax asked.

"I'm fine Ajax... I just have a little... panic attack, I should get to bed." Esmeralda replied. Ajax nodded before walking her to her dorm with Marice. Marice still wasn't talking to Xavier just waved and nodded. Xavier took the thought to paint her to make up for what happened at the Rave'N.
