Twelve

Thea:

"Don't listen to what everyone else says about me," he said after a while of silence "for them I put on a mask, it's the only way I can cope, but with you, it seems to disappear" he gave a weak smile and reached for my hand reassuringly.
I trusted him in his grip, and we laced fingers over the tabletop. The action was so sweet and wholesome, perhaps I could even go far as saying casual, but my whole body gave into his touch.

I tense up at his words.
I suppose, I noticed the truth in the statement long ago, what I had heard of him was contradictory to what I had experienced. The arrogant bully Draco Malfoy was nothing but sweet and gentle. It lead me to wonder what else he could be hiding?

"So tell me about yourself" I speak softly and he looked up at me through pale eyelashes
"There is nothing you don't know, everyone knows about my family, my friends, my... There is nothing to tell" he shook his head.
"No, there is. You said yourself you put up a mask, so what's hiding behind it?" I leaned in closer.
"I can't say, not when I'm not a hundred per cent sure what's hiding behind it either" he took the last swig of his butterbeer.
I tilted my head, analysing his features. His face was flushed, his smile was sad, and he was uncomfortable in the subject.
After hiding his truth for so long, he must have forgotten where he had left it.

"It's getting too close in here, don't you agree?" I smile, changing the subject. There was nothing more I wanted than for Draco to feel completely comfortable around me. I would hate to lose him because I asked the wrong questions.
"I fancy a Sugar Quill" His face lit up when he admitted this.
"I never pegged you as someone with a sweet tooth" I mentioned. He rolled his eyes.
"Come on" he grabbed my hand, dragging me out of the cramped pub swerving through people as he did so.

When we stepped out into the snowy main street of Hogsmeade, the icy ait hit me immediately. Luckily where Dracos hand remained holding mine, my body refused to let go of the warmth.

"This way" he guides me through the pure white streets and towards Honeydukes.
The shop was the same as the first time I visited it as a 13-year-old Ravenclaw. A green and pink store displaying all sorts of sweets in the shop windows like Chocolate Frogs, Every Flavoured Beans, and lollipops of every kind. Honeydukes had a sweet sugary smell to the store, and the staff were constantly restocking the shelves. Much like The Leaky Cauldron, Honeydukes was jammed pack with people chattering and laughing, but unlike the tavern, this establishment held only young Hogwarts students with high pitched excited voices. I felt like a little kid again.

"Get as much as you want, we can eat them later, and I don't care what you say I'm paying" Draco chuckled. He couldn't actually think I would allow him to pay for all this.
I rolled my eyes and sneaked off to get my own confectionery.

A/N I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while and that this part is short I've had a huge writers block and I've been busy
