I drew this scene I wrote last night in my book Traitor to the Crown. If you haven't read it yet or don't like blood and gore, don't read on. The gore is mainly because Lyrica is a dracolitch, (undead dragon) so she's already falling apart, and she just received an injury from something on the opposite end of the magical spectrum.

Alright, so what just happened in Traitor to the Crown is that Lyrica was impaled in the heart by a unicorn. Because she is undead, she can't technically die, but there are some exceptions.

Because dracolitches are created by some of the most dark magic out there, the magic that causes them to exist is the EXACT OPPOSITE of unicorn magic.

Unicorns are one of the purest and most alive creatures in the Valdt.

So, naturally, opposite magic doesn't mix quite well. How unicorn magic works is that it purifies anything around it, ridding it of dark magic.

Dark magic is what is allowing Lyrica to exist after death, and so when the unicorn's horn touched her heart, it created a magical reaction which is making her partially alive.

However, if Lyrica is alive again in her dracolitch state where her body is dead, that could actually kill her.

One thing that is an important factor in dragons or any draconic creature in the Valdt is that you cannot perform most magic on a dragon without their consent because of their powerful magical aura. Magic that does get through will either wear off really fast or not work in the way it was intended.

Dragons are very powerful magical beings, and when they become dracolitches it might change the way magic effects them.

Unicorns are on an equal level of magical power as dragons, which causes some interesting magical chemistry when unicorn and dragon magic mixes.

When the unicorn stabbed Lyrica, she started to bleed. Since she is undead, bleeding is something that shouldn't happen. Do you think the wound will make her alive only to kill her? Is this the end of Lyrica?

So, now that you know the factors at play, what do you think is going to happen? Is there a chance that Lyrica will survive?
