Trent Nixon was sat in the warbler room as the new warbler captain hunter clarington was delivering his first practice as captain. However trent wasnt focused on hunter even though he had to admit he found the new captain rather enjoyable to look at. He was more bothered about the former captain sebastian smythe who wasnt looking very happy.

Trent knew sebastian had taken being stripped of the captaincy hard and was not I pressed at now having g to follow hunter's rules.

Trent also knew that when sebastian smythe wasnt happy bad things tended to happen so trent thought he best intervene.

As he watched sebastian glaring at hunter he realised what he had to do.

Sebastian was hot headed trent knew that but he also knew that there was one person who sebastian could never be mad with... Rachel berry.

Trent had known for a long time that sebastian had a soft spot for Rachel he had caught him glancing at her on numerous occasions.

Now that trent also knew that Rachel Barbara berry was single he started to form an idea in his mind.

He needed to get Rachel and sebastian together that way sebastian would be happy and so would Rachel because trent knew despite sebastian's vindictive nature he would never hurt Rachel.

" right practice is over" hunter said sebastian was the first up off the couch.

" seb wait" trent said jumping up and walking over to him.

" what" sebastian asked

" why dont we go for coffee" trent said

" ok" sebastian sighed shooting hunter a death glare before walking out with trent.

A short while later they were sat at the Lima bean sebastian wasnt his usual talkative self and sat their fiddling with his cup.

" you ok" trent asked

" I'm fine" sebastian said

" I know it must be hard not being captain anymore" trent said

" hunter's a jerk" sebastian said

" dont shout at me but it's not his fault it was our headmaster that made him captain" trent said sebastian was now sat seething.

" I prefer you has captain " trent added.

" so is that why you invited me for coffee to talk about hunter" sebastian asked.

" no I invited you because I'm worried about my friend" trent said.

As he said that the doors of the Lima  ean opened and in walked Blaine and Rachel.

He saw sebastian watch rachel as she made her way over to the counter with Blaine.

" like what you see" trent said

" what" sebastian asked

" oh come of it seb you barely take your eyes off her when you see her" trent said sebastian looked like he was going to deny it but then smiled.

" why dont you ask her out" trent asked

" what's the point she hates me" sebastian said

" yeah she does and if you dont try to change that it never will change" trent said

" Blaine rachel" trent called to them they both turned

" would you like to join us" trent called tot them Rachel looked confused but blaine nodded.

A minute later they walked over to their table and sat down.

" how are you both" trent asked

" good" both Rachel and Blaine said at the same time.

" how are things at dalton" Blaine asked

" bad" sebastian said

" what" Blaine said 

" we have a new captain" trent said Rachel looked at sebastian

" how come" she said

" he led his previous show choir to a regionals win" trent said

" oh" Rachel said

" how are you taking it" Blaine asked sebastian.

" not great" sebastian admitted.

" we only just had our first practice today" trent said

" yeah and he spent the whole time talking about himself" sebastian said

" so did you when you delivered your first practice" trent chuckled

" what's he like" Rachel asked

" honestly he is kind of hard to read he went to military school before he came to dalton" trent said

" he is a jerk" sebastian said as hunter walked in saw them and walked over to their table.

" hello" hunter said

" hey" trent said

" who do we have here" hunter asked takongnhold of Rachel's hand and raising it to his lips Rachel blushed Blaine looked shocked sebastian looked like he was about to murder hunter.

" this is Rachel berry" trent said

" the Rachel berry" hunter asked letting go of her hand.

" yeah" Blaine said.

"Its wonderful to meet you I'm the new captain of the warblers" hunter said

" we know" sebastian said hunter looked at him.

" someone's grouchy" hunter said smirking at sebastian.

" guys please" trent said

" well Rachel what do you think now that the warblers will actually be competition" hunter asked

" the warblers have always being competition" she said and trent noticed sebastian smile.

" yeah back when Blaine here was incharge" hunter chuckled. Sebastian looked furious.

" actually when Blaine was in charge we were friends with the warblers it was sebastian who stepped up the competition between us" she said sebastian had a huge smile on his face.

" well if you think he was impressive wait to you see him whip them into shape" hunter said before walking to the counter.

" he is a jerk" Blaine said.

" yeah" Rachel said.

" thank you for defending me" sebastian said to Rachel she nodded and trent tried to hide how pleased he was.

He knew messaging Blaine to meet him at the Lima bean with Rachel without letting on to her it was arranged was the right idea.

" I dont agree with alot of the thi gs you did sebastian but there is no denying that you were a good captain" Rachel said.

" well I had to be to compete with you" sebastian said Rachel nodded.

" guess we made each others teams work harder" she said.

" Blair e do you get the feeling that we are intruding " trent said standing up.

" yeah I do trent... Rachel i will see you later" Blaine said and both Rachel and sebastian watched at the two boys left as they sat looking surprised.

" how that was subtle" sebastian said

"Yeah" Rachel said

" although I have to admit I was feeling pretty down earlier but you have cheered me up" sebastian said

" really" Rachel said

" though I'm not fully cheered up...maybe we could go see a movie" he said

" ok I guess" she said

" great maybe we could get dinner afterwards" sebastian said she looked at him.

" yes Rachel I am indeed asking you on a date" sebastian said and she blushed.

They got up and left the Lima bean smiling at each other.

Little did they know trent hadn't actually left and was hiding by a trash can cheering silently as he saw sebastian and Rachel get into his car.

His plan had worked smytheberry had begun.
