Library isles and no breakfast

It was another wendsday and Aria wandered through the librarys  isles, searching for interesting science fiction books. The afternoons sun bathed the room with it’s high walls in sunlight, warmed Aria's cold hands and gave her a feeling of protection. Lost in thoughts, sliding across all the books she already read, Aria walked into the since fiction Part of the library. Usually there would be a cuple other teenagers in this corridor, but today there was only a girl sitting in one of the chairs, minding her own buisness. „That’s the best timing I could have had!“ Aria thought, as she grabbed a book out of the lower shelf: „mecanical revenge“ She paused, it can’t be that bad, can it? She questioned herself, starting on the first pages of the newly found book. Only a few chapters in, Aria closed the  book and rolled her eyes. „I’m not here for any of the seducive aliens ! I am here for the bloody revolution of cyborgs and androids!!“
A little annoyed she shoved the book in it’s place and looked to the ladder in the corridors other side. Usually there were some quite good books over there, Most of them Aria had her own copy of. „Hopefully I can find a new book over there…“ As she stood before the ladder, Aria considered, to just ask the Girl in the Chair to help her reach the Higher shelfs…but on second thought it wasn’t worth it. So she climbed the ladder, struggeling to keep her balance, but finally Aria got a hold of herself.
Scanning the books, Aria’s eyes wandered and found a new book. It’s simple desing stood out from all the other colorfully illustrated books. In holografic letters, the title read: „Otopsist in the Future“ „I have not Seen anything like this book…“ Aria thought to herself and slowly Made her way down the ladder. Casually she got comftable in one of the red armchairs, standing throughout the entired library. Eventhough the book was very thin, Aria soon was facinated by it’s story and it’s complexity. She was an author herself, Aria looked for good axamples and references in these books. The worldbuilding in this one was especially good.
When Aria looked next to her, she realized somebody left the library book on the desk next to her. It would be a shame not to put it back! So she stood up and walked to the ladder to put the book in it’s original spot. When she arrived at the shelf, there was no ladder to be seen. Confused Aria looked around, only more confused when she couldn’t find it anywhere… „It will have to work like this.“ On her tiptoes Aria tried to put the book back    into its place, onlz to loose her balance right  after and fall on her butt.  Behind her, Aria heard a chuckle: „ Are you allways this amusing ?„ Quickly Aria turned around and saw the other girl, long blonde locks framed her spreckled face, a smile growing on their lips.
[POV The other girl]
The smal girl in front of me turned into a tomato after my question. She was just too cute! I had seen her around  a lot, she was here everday to be honest. Eventthough I just moved here recently, the library soon grew to be my second home. While I waited for a response from the little redhead, I smiled torwards her. „Should I put that away for you?“ I asked and she just noded. With a grin on my face, I took the book and placed it in the shelf. „ I am Feli by the way! Who do I have the plesure with? „ „Aria…my name is Aria.“ A quiet voice came from the girl across from me. „So Aria, are you here often?“ I asked, already knowing the answere, but still wanting to start a conversation. Finally Aria started to smile too: „Oh yes! You could say I am here everydazy. I just cannot live without a book to read.“ Determinatoin and love sparkled in her eyes like the stars on a clear night. I was blown away. „Wich are your faforite books to read?“ „Sience Fiction. I am especially interested in the worldbuilding and collection of species! Snce I am an author mzself, I gotta get some ideas somewhere, right?“
I was facinated by how passioned she talked about the books she had already read and still wanted to read. After a few minutes, we sat on the table next to the shelf and I listened closely to what she was saying. Never had I heard such ideas and her way of telling the stories, made me feel like I was really there: Spacegun in my hand, in the middle of a cosmic war that would decide the fate of thousands. „My only poroblem is, that i need a person to correct my spelling. It is not horrible, just not the best you could wich for, when writing stories.“ Aria concluded. „ou know, I could testread your texts for mistakes. I think your stories sound amaying and I would like to hear more!“ I  mentioned and Aria askeded smiling:" You would really do that?“ „Of course, I wouldn’t let you down like that! Plus, I really love your stories and can’t get enough of them. The’re just so good!“
„Wich school do you go to actually, I don’t think I saw you recently.“ Aria asked after a few more minutes in wich we exchanged opinions about Science Fiction novels. „Oh! I go to the Clover Highschool across the park. My class is 11c, wich is the worst class of a-“ „You visit the same school as I do! Why haven’t I seen you around?“ Aria shouted through the library, only to excuse herself to some elder ladis in the other corridor. „Like I said, why did I never see you? Do you have some kind of invisibility cloak I sould know about??“ Aria said confused, yet still smilig. „I wish that was the case, but no! I am on the sportsfield every morning and that’s why you never see me. I am one „of the gifted ones“ like my sports teacher likes to call it. That’s why I train for the 3000 meter run his year.“
„Woah! I didn’t expect you to be this sporty Lydia… without trying to hurt your feelings that is!“ Aria said and her jaw almost dropped. I coldn’t hold back my laughter and Aria looked at me a little confused. „There is no way you could hurt my feelings this easily. Dont’t be so unsecure. I’ll tell you when I’m mad, so say what you think and not what’s nice.“
I paused. „You alright?“ „Yeah, It’s just that all the other girls in my class wouldn’t even agree a little bit with you. I like that about you… uhm, I mean your opinion!“ aria stuttered. „yeah, my opinion.“ I said, the blood rushing to my cheeks. „You know what? Let’s walk to school together tomorrow. I could oick you up if you like.“ „But you don’t even know where I live Lydia…“ Well, she was right. I didn’t know where she lived, but it couldn’t be that far away, could it?
„Wait, so it takes you 30 minutes to get to school everyday? I live only 10 minutes away from school… You knoew what, I’ll just wait outside and once you walk past my house, I’ll just join you. How about that?“ I finnally said. Aria thought about it a while and then answered:" Tha‘'s how we’re gonna do it!“ We still talked a few hours on that day and I won’t forget Aria’s face when I said, I liked the lesbian heroine from one of her books. She probably thought I wasn’t that much on the Queer side of things. To be honest, I don’t show it that much, but I love me some good LGBTQ+ stories! When I arrived at home, I got ready for bed, looked up to my room’s kkcieling and yawned. It was a long day for sure!
(POV Storie teller)
The morning sun’s light made it’s way through Lydias room. Clothes were laying all over the place and the desk at her wall was full with books about alien anatomy. As the light reached the blankets end, a lound ringing filled the room, as well as Lydias ears.  Slowly she sat upright in her bed and looked around untill she realised, the ringing noise was actually her alarmclock. Releasing a heavy breath, Lydia ended the alarm and stood up. As she made her way through the room, a black fluffy ball moved under the messy clothes. With a loud bark, the small dog came uot under the blankets to greed Lydia on her way to th bathroom. „Oh, hey sparky!“ She mumbled and disapeared in the bathroom. Sparky followed her into the room, wich’s floor was suprisingly warm for the night’s temperatures. After Lydias hair and teeth were brushed, she therew on some practical cloth and looked in the mirror. I feel like wearing something fancy toay! Lydia thought and returned to her wardrobe. About ten minutes later, she came out, wearing a darkblue shirt and a skirt with flowers. Now that’s more like it! She decided and made her way to the kitchen. A bowl of cereal, an apple and a glas of orangejuce later, Lydia grabbed her backpak to check if she had everything for her schoolday. With the bag on her shoulders, she headed outside and saw a familiar girl standing infront of the small garden fence.
„Aria! Good morning, did you sleep well?“ Lydia aked, only getting a tired grumble as a response „I take that as a no.“ „well, I just had to finish the chapter, than the book and then all of the books… So my sleep-school-life balance is totally fine!“ Aria said, exposing dark circles around her eyes. „Aria, for the love of god! You need at least 8 hours of sleep a day! I don’t want you to collapse from exhaustion!“ Lydia said quite worried, to wich Aria smiled:“ You really don’t want that ?“ „Of course not! I want you to be healthy and mentally stable, so you don’t need to worry about life and end up forgetting that you need to treat yourself sometimes! Take care of yourself!“
„Woah! Lydia, take it slow! I realy apreaciate you taking care of me, wich is also really sweet of you, but it’s 6 in the morning. I am not ready for long motivational talks!“ Aria said, a tired smile growing on her face. „Have you even had breakfast yet?“ „Didn’t have the time for it. I was running late, but because I left out breakfast, I was able to catch up with the running time.“ Aria scrached her back a long yawn filling the quiet silence between the two girls. Finally Lydia made a decision. „I will take you to the nearest bakery. Now! It’s my treat, don’t worry, but you gotta get some food before you start your day at school.“ Aria wanted to complain, but Lydia just straight up grabbed her hoodie and pulled her to the nearest bakery. The small bell in the corner of the door rang, as the two girls entered the still empty bakery. The smell of freshly backed goodies filled their nostrills and made the desire to buy somethig even larger. A younger man stepped to the counter, looked at the two of them and asked nicely:“What can I get you ladies?“
„I’d like a chocolade covered bun,“ Lydia said andlooked over to Aria, „What do you want ?“ „Just a normal waffle is fine.“ She answered and Lydia turned back to the counter. „All in all, we would like two waffles and a chocolate covered bun.“ „Will that be all ?“ The man behind the counter replied, to wich Lydia nodded. After the breakfast was payed, the two girls made their way outside. „why did you buy two waffles ? I thought I said one ?“ Aria asked a little confused. Lydia just smiled and said: „The other one is for when you‘re in school and are still hungry. It is important to eat enough. If you don’t, you won’t be able to concentrade proberly.“ „Aww, Lydia…you didn’t have to. Now I owe you two waffles.“ „you don’t owe me a thing: Just promise that you won’t skip breakfast anymore, no matter how late you are. Alright?“ Lydia laughed and thn walked to school with Aria, while talking of the right morning routine.
As they arrived at the school, the sportsteacher waited impatiently. „OH goodness, there you are Lydia! Fo a second I tought you weren’t coming.“He said relieved, wich amused Lydia and confused Aria. „Nah, I was just taking care of this friend of mine. She needed to realise that breakfast is the most important meal of the day." A loud laughter came from the teacher. "That’s the spirit I was looking for! And you finally found some company. Lydia, I must say: I am quite proud of how well you fit in now.“ The teacher said loudly and turned to Aria. „A good friend you chose there! Lydia is quite the exemplary kid. Look after her, she can be quite fragile sometimes.“ Wich these wods, he walked them into the schoolbuilding. Classes were about to start in a few minutes, so Lydia and Aria hugged a last time, before running to their assigned classroomes.
