Roman's Idea

The room was silent, Patton held an ice pack to his throat as Logan held one to his knuckles. This was becoming way too dangerous, they couldn't even live in their spaces with out being afraid for their lives.
"You guys, this time this was too close. I'm not letting this happen again, to any of you." Roman announced as he sat next to Anxiety, rubbing his back soothingly.
Anxiety leaned into him, not caring what anyone thought for the moment. Sure during the fight he was calm, but he never let his anxious side get in the way of helping people he loved, but afterwards he had a bit of a problem comprehending what had exactly happened.
Patton sighed, he wanted to make sure nobody was scared even though he was scared himself. "Guys, I'm fine! My neck just...hurts a bit. I can handle-"
Logan, who had been quiet ever since the ordeal happened, suddenly spoke up, "Patton, no. Stop trying to be strong right now. You just got choked, you...you got choked. What if I wasn't there? What if we didn't wake up and you died. We can't bare that. I cannot bare that."
The room was shocked over the logical side's words, he looked like he was about to cry. Patton swallowed, he knew Logan had cared for him, but he had never shown it like he had in that moment. "Logan...I'm not going anywhere. I would never leave you, or Anxiety or Roman. Please believe that...I'm stronger than I seem and you don't need to belittle me."
This seemed to ease Logan a bit, but just not enough.
Anxiety huffed out, you could hear the anxiousness in his breath, "Dad, it's not about belittling you! Everyone in this room knows that...you're strong. Maybe the strongest out of all of us. You have the power to keep things under control, but Depression is just...too strong at times. You're going to need to be more careful! All of us do, and it's selfish if you don't."
Patton usually would've been offended by that, seeing as he was trying to be tough, but his feelings suddenly changed when he saw Anxiety crying. Roman held him, rocking him a bit, and Anxiety didn't oblige.
Patton sat next to him, rubbing him while he sat in Roman's arms. "Anxiety... I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you all worried that much...Ill... be safer. I promise."
Anxiety smiled, sadly, but it was comforting.
Roman stared at the wall, he had...an idea kept up inside him ever since the incident, but it probably wasn't the best one, especially for the others, but it was the only one he had come up with.
He finally decided to speak up, not knowing what else to do. "Guys...I think we need help from a more trait like side of Thomas."
Logan looked and raised a brow, "What trait are you thinking of?" He asked, Logan wasn't against the idea, but it was sort of unorthodox to have a trait help take down a side.
Roman bit his lip, looking down. "Well, I was thinking, maybe Deceit has the capability to help."
The other sides immediately looked at Roman like he was crazy, Anxiety spoke up, "How the actual hell would he help us, Princey?"
Patton fought the urge to tell him not to curse, but suppressed it due to his stress levels. He agreed with Anxiety though, what would he offer?
Roman sighed, letting go of Anxiety to explain, causing him to pout a bit. "Deceit can obviously...deceive people. Maybe he can find a way to trick him? I mean, remember that one time where he literally pretended to be Patton?"
Patton bit his cheek, remembering when it happened, he knew Roman was right, but could they trust him?
Logan spoke, concerns also running through his mind. "I get what you're getting at, Roman. Although, we all know Deceit is manipulative. He's obviously going to want something from all of this."
Roman sighed, standing up, Patton and Anxiety looking up at him, "Then... I suppose he'll get something."
The sides all looked at one and other in unison, but one thing was for sure about Roman's plan, no one would stop from keeping them all from harms way. Even if it meant his own sacrifice.
