it irritates me sometimes

i have to be honest

i come from a time when

parents 

were the voice of wisdom

having lived a life

having made the mistakes

having suffered the consequences

having the good times and the bad

having lived a life

they were the ultimate

the ones you went to for answers

or

at least guidance

it became  a bonding experience

a chance to sit and talk

and

maybe

just maybe

get an insight into the people that gave you life

NOW

i am just the old man in the corner of the room

reminiscing about a life gone by

while

the children

find their wisdom 

and
