Friday.

After a week of long practices and short friend free time, it was finally Friday.

For the past few days, Eddie has been rather distant and has been spending a lot of time with a girl Richie had introduced to us on Tuesday. Her name's Evelyn Wilkins, and according to loud mouth Greta, she's not who she says she is.

Not that I'd ever believe anything Greta has to say about anyone. She's the biggest liar in school, and a bitch! Yet, somehow, I get the feeling that this time she's right.

There's something about Evelyn that just isn't right— and it's not just me being a jealous girlfriend! She always gives me this certain look. She avoids me. She spends too much time with Eddie. She came out of no where. AND SHE SPENDS TOO MUCH TIME WITH EDDIE.

I huff and cross my arms over my chest.

I'm sat in the gym, stretching out my legs with the rest of the cheer squad. Last period felt like an eternity of me third wheeling, before I was excused from class.

At least these last two periods would be fun, I guess.

"You ready for your stunt?!" Betty excitedly asks, walking over to me. I plaster on a smile, standing up and nodding happily. "Sure am! I've been practicing all week, it'll be lots of fun!"

"Well, go get changed and we'll start blasting our music! Then the pep-rally will start!" She cheers. With that, I head to the locker room with the other girls, we all pull on our designated uniforms.

As we wait for our cue, the sound of cheers and chatter echo through out the gym.

Nerves run through my veins, thinking about the stunt I was to do in front of the crowded gym. My hands tap against my uniform nervously.

"You'll do great, stop being so worried!" Cherry says, patting me on the back. I throw her a nervous smile and nod. "Yeah, first time jitters I guess..."

That and your boyfriend will be watching.

Before that last thought can make me panic, the announcer begins to call our names out one by one. He starts with the JV team, and they all run out and get in their position. The gym roars for them. Then he moves onto the Varsity, introducing oldest to youngest.

I'll be introduced last, seeing as I'm a month younger than Tammy.

"Next up is....Freshman, TAMMY ANDERSON!" The announcer shouts into the mic, the gym roars with excitement as Tammy enters the gym with a few flips. "And last, but very far from least....freshman, ALLY FLOWER!"

Quickly, I jog into the gym, doing a single flip before getting into my position. The crowd cheers, and I immediately scan around for Eddie. Sure enough, on the very right corner, closest to the floor, the losers are sat cheering. I wave a little, catching their eye.

Before they have a chance to acknowledge me, the music blasts, signaling our performance. I take a deep breath as we begin our dance routine.

"Stand up,
it's time to shout
Come on fans,
Yell it out
Say it loud
Say it proud
Go RAMS
Go! Go! Go!"

As the chant comes to an end, I ready myself to perform the stunt. If we did it right, this would be our first time actually performing it too. Nerves flow throw me as I go to do the stunt.

The crowd goes wild with cheers as the girls catch me, and as soon as I'm set safe on the ground, I'm tackled in a hug.

"You really did it, Ally! Holy shit!" Tammy yells, hopping up and down with excitement. I squeal and hop with her, proud of the stunt I had accomplished. "I CANT BELIEVE I DID IT!"

"Yeah...you did it! Which makes you captain!" Betty shouts over everyone, causing us all to freeze. "What?!" I question, dumbfounded. "B-But I'm a—"

"A fish? Doesn't matter. You landed the stunt. You get the position. The rest of us were too scared to even try." She admits, smiling proudly at me. I stare dumbfounded as the girls tackle me in hugs once again, squealing.

I'm captain of the Varsity team? IM FUCKING CAP OF THE VARSITY TEAM SUAIGSEJ

I let out a scream of excitement and hug Betty tightly. She laughs and allows me to run to the rest of the losers, who are sat in shock at the performance.

"GUYS GUYS, IM CAPTAIN OF THE VARSITY TEAM!" I shout, nearly crying as I hug Bill tightly, him being the closest to me. He laughs and blushes lightly. "T-That w-was really cool!"

"I SAW YOUR UNDERWEAR AGAIN, today is a good day all around!" Richie grins as I sit by the group. Stan punches his arm. Eddie stares at me wide-eyed. "Wow, that was probably the most dangerous thing ever— it was really cool.." he mutters.

"It was alright." Evelyn states, sat behind him. I ignore her slightly rude tone, and grin. I lean in to kiss Eddie, but he pulls back.

What!?

Confusion crosses my expression.

"I-I'm just not feeling it right now." He mutters, turned away from me. I frown deeply, nodding. "Okay...well uh, are you liking the pep-rally so far?" I question, trying to appear a little happier.

"Yeah...but uh...me and Evelyn have to go make up a test, so we're gonna have to leave now." Eddie apologizes, standing up with his belonging. Evelyn follows, stepping off the bleachers and heading towards the door.

"What? But it just started!" I argue, staring at him in disbelief. "I know! I know! I'm really sorry Ally, I'll stay for the whole thing next time." He promises, walking out of the gym. My heart breaks a little as I watch him leave. Richie moves to sit next to me. He goes to make a joke but stops when he notices my hurt expression.

"What just happened?" I question softly, leaning my head on his shoulder. He wraps an arm around me, as the pep-rally continues around us. It was as if we were in our own world right now. "If it makes you feel any better, we live in a world where pizza gets to your house before the police." He states.

"Why would that make me feel any better?!"

"I don't know! Damn! I'm just trying to help.." he responds, defensively. Letting out a deep breath, I turn to offer him a soft smile. "Thank you for being here, Richie." He blushes in response. Leaning over, I kiss his cheek softly, standing and gathering my things.

His cheeks become even brighter at the contact.

"I think I'm just gonna go home now." I say with a frown, beginning to walk towards the gym exit. "That was the only performance I had in the pep-rally anyway."

Richie stumbles to grab his things and follow. "Wait! I'll walk you home!" He calls, causing me to turn and wait for him. A small giggle leaves my mouth at how disoriented he looks. The others look at us confusedly. "Not feeling well, going home." I simply explain to them, they all nod and go back to paying attention to the pep-rally.

As Richie gets to my side, we both exit the gym and walk down the quiet corridor.

"What's gotten into him lately?" I ask out of the blue.

"Who? Eds? Oh...I don't know. He's been really jumpy. Like he's hiding something." He responds cluelessly. I raise my eyebrow in response. "That's hard to believe, Eddie wouldn't hide anything from us— Richie?" I stop walking when I realize he's stopped and is staring through a class window with a look of shock.

"What is it?" I question, walking towards him worriedly.

"Nothing!" He quickly responds, waving his hands and assuring me away. I squint at his actions and push him back, going to see what he was looking at.

My heart breaks, absolutely shatters, at the sight.

My hands tremble by my sides, and I'm stuck watching in frozen shock. Tears water in my eyes, blurring out the scene in front of me.

Eddie Kaspbrak, my sweet Eddie Kaspbrak, is making out with Evelyn Wilkins. In a dark, unsupervised classroom. Is this real?

"Ally—" Richie starts, reaching out to me. I storm past him out the doors of the school. He follows close behind me as I trudge down the street, wiping the tears flowing down my cheeks. "Ally wait! Let's just talk about this!" He begs.

I keep walking until I'm stood on my front porch.

"What's there to talk about, Richie?! You saw it and I saw it." I shout, now messy with tears and shaking with anger and hurt. Richie doesn't say anything, just climbs the steps and brings me into a tight hug.

Eddie Kaspbrak had my whole heart. And he just shattered it.
