The biology class was separated in lab tables, me and Eddie sat together, towards the back of the class. Stan and Richie sat in front of us, and Mike and Ben in front of them.

The teacher, Mrs. Kate, is pretty chill for the most part, she seems younger than the rest of the teachers here. She goes as far as saying that the first lesson probably won't even be until 3 weeks in because she wants us to have time to adjust to the school. Everyone in the class sighs in relief at that.

"Today, we're just gonna do a "getting to know you" paper, then we can all just relax." Mrs. Kate says, smiling and handing out papers.

I'm quick to fill out the paper, and hand it back to her. She laughs at how fast I finished and puts it into a pile. "I take it your eager to have some free time?" She questions. "Yeah, I've got some catching up to do." I respond, looking at Eddie as he finishes the paper and hands it to her as well. She nods, taking the paper and walking back to her desk.

"So did your mom figure out you were sneaking out to see me?" I ask, turning to the freckled boy. He shakes his head, "no– at least I don't think. I think I'd be dead now if she knew."

Giggling, I nod my head a little.

"I missed you." He states, smiling. I grin back at him. "I missed you too."

"Eddie, I'm really sorry Josh treated you so poorly earlier. I guess everyone's a little surprised that I'm dating—"

"A loser?"

"No! No! I was gonna say, they're surprised that I'm dating in general. I'd always said I didn't find any boys in our school interesting enough to pursue. And then you were thrown in my face, and my heart pointed at you and whispered, "him..". So you're kind of a really big deal..." I say, smiling. He blushes and glances at his hands.

He glances between me and his hands a few times before speaking up. "You're nothing like the girls in our school."

"Why do you say that?"

"It's hard to find people who's minds are as pretty as their face. Me and the boys were lucky to find you..."

A blush swoops my cheeks as I stare at him.

"When did you become such a philosopher?" I joke lightly, smiling with appreciation at his comment. "Since I started hanging out with you." He responds, playing around with his watch. Suddenly he doesn't seem so happy, and he doesn't bother speaking for a few minutes.

"Something wrong?" My eyebrows furrow together at the frown rested on his face.

"Are you joining cheerleading this year?" He mumbles, ignoring my question. Confusion takes my expression.

"yeah–I-I....yeah, I am. Why?"

"Just wondering...guess that means we won't get to spend a lot of time together." He grumbles, turning his face away from me.

Why the hell is he suddenly acting upset?

I laugh lightly, "Eddie, we have every single class together!....why're you acting so...so—"

"So what?"

"Well you'd know what I was gonna say by now if you didn't keep interrupting me!" My voice raises, and the smile once resting on my face is now replaced with a frown. Eddie rolls his eyes, causing me to gasp lightly.

What is his problem?!

"What is your problem?!" I ask, lowering my voice as to not draw attention. He shrugs his shoulders, and turns to face me once more.

"I don't know. I just— I don't like the idea of you cheering for a bunch of assholes—"

"They're not assholes! Josh— he was just worried! He thought– he thought you were just some kid kissing me! He's protective that's all. They're good guys if you would just give them—"

"They never gave us a chance!" Eddie snaps, causing Stan and Richie to turn around and face us. "Why is it such a surprise that we're dating?! I–they're asshole's Ally!"

I blink at him, holding a straight face.

Richie and Stan watch quietly, as my face contorts into a mixture of emotions.

Eddie stares back, seeming slightly guilty for his harsh words. As he opens his mouth to speak, the bell rings and I trudge out of the classroom.

"Ally!"

I hear him shout behind me as I speed past people in the hallway, I glance behind myself to see him desperately try to catch up. Thankfully, people block him and I'm far gone before he can say anything more.

At least I had cheer next. He wouldn't be there.

Asshole.
