After numerous make out sessions within a single night, Bill and I are having a much needed snack break.
I'm sat on the couch, and he's sat on the floor.
"D-Does he even k-know that you know?" He questions, popping a chip into his mouth. I stop eating my candy mid-bite, thinking a little.
"No. I don't think so. I'd like to think he'd be here by now, begging for forgiveness." I respond, moving from my place on the couch onto his lap once again. I grin devilishly as he turns a bright shade of red and drops his bag of chips. "You know, I-I r-really think you'll
r-regret this later..." he insists, leaning back a little.
"Oh honey, we're far too gone to stop now!" I laugh, and he shakes his head.
"I-If Eddie kn-knew—"
"He cheated on me!"
Bill pauses for a second, nodding lightly.
"Y-Yeah, but...th-that doesn't mean you h-have to stoop to his l-level."
I frown, climbing off his lap. Sitting there for a second, I try to think of the right words to say right now. Words that will make him understand my situation a little better. With a sigh, I lace my hand with his, and he turns to me.
"Bill, you have no idea how much commitment it takes to date Eddie Kaspbrak. I ALWAYS have to consider his feelings above mine. I ALWAYS have to worry about his germaphobic issues, and what's okay to do and what's not. I have to think, not twice, but 55 different times about every little advance I make on him. Will he allow it? Will he like it? It takes so much commitment that I don't even have time to think about other guys. I put in so much effort, and him? I guess he put in none."
A look of guilt rests on Bill's expression as he watches tears fall down my cheeks one by one.
Standing up rather quickly, I wipe away the tears and walk around him.
"I need a—"
Before I can say, 'cigarette', he stops me from advancing. His hand is wrap gently around my wrist, and I turn to him questioningly. He seems to be at war with him self, stumbling over his words more than usual. It takes a few seconds of him not saying anything for me to pull my hand away.
He stands to face me properly.
"It's alright, you don't have to apologize for him!" I say with a sad smile.
Once again, his hand stops me. This makes me turn around with a
'boy-what-the-fuck-do-you-want' look. He blushes a little before leaning and kissing me lightly. I take a few minutes to process everything before kissing back.
I step closer to him, and he wraps an arm around my waist.
It doesn't feel so wrong anymore.
