Angelina's POV

Did you ever over-think so much that you felt you are losing your mind? The Saturday before the last one, I realized I like Jacob. Since then I keep trying to dissect our each conversation to figure out if he likes me. But most of the times I manage to stop myself as it would do more harm than good. As for Drew whenever I think I am going off the deep end, I try to clear my head of any thoughts. I do that mostly by busying myself with work and so far it has been working.

Apart from my over-thinking some other things have also happened. After Jacob cleared his differences with everyone both of our groups are coming closer. Now when we all see each other in the hallways we fall into friendly discussions instead of plotting against each other. Sometimes Chris goes to their table to sit with Dylan. And when Soph, Em and Mia go to the cheerleading table, the boys come and sit at our table. But that may be because of Dylan.

Rosie and Justin went on their date last Saturday and from the looks and smiles they exchange, I think it went well. As for my brother, I distracted him on Saturday. On the other days I see the longing look on his face sometimes, but he covers them well.

The boys got selected for the football team in positions they tried out for and practice for all the sports have begun as well. So most of my time is spent over cheerleading and studies. The basketball coach's offer is also looming over me but I have yet to talk to Mom and Dad about it.

Speaking of studies, after the schedules were out Jacob and I worked out when he can teach me. But since we both have other things to do as well, we try to meet in our common free periods. Like right now I am sitting in the library with Jacob as our study hall is going on and he is attempting to teach me.

"You should just give up on me. Everything you said just went over my head." I whisper yell, holding my head in my hands. I can tell he is getting annoyed but is trying to be patient.

"Look, enthalpy means energy. When you break a bond you need energy to do it which is known as bond enthalpy." He looks at me hopefully.

"Shouldn't energy be released?" I ask.

"I think the bond is stable that's why to break it you need to give it energy." I just give him a blank look.

"Think of it like this, a person who loves food is sleeping and you need to wake him. You would give him food to convince him to leave the bed not take the food he already has." He explains.

"So you gave food to break the bond between a foodie and his bed?" I ask.

"Yes" He confirms.

Ring...Ring...

"Freedom!" I exclaim.

"I didn't think I was such a bad tutor." He says teasing while putting his books together.

"You are a great tutor but I hate the subject." I say sheepishly giving him an apologetic look.

"Even if you hate it, you know you need it to graduate right?" He asks amused.

"That's why you are here, to make me at least pass." I say, giving him a wide grin to which he chuckles. After we collect our books we make our way out of the library towards the lockers.

"You say I am here to make you pass so what is the teacher here for?" Jacob asks.

"Don't remind me of him, he is so boring. I think half of the reason I hate the subject is because of him." I say groaning.

"That bad?" He asks raising his eyebrows.

"You are talking like you have never been taught by him."

"Actually, I was never taught by him. I am in AP Chemistry and last year the seniors had some other teacher." He says making me stop in my tracks.

"What happened?" He asks as I just gape at him.

"You are in AP Chemistry?" I ask slowly.

"Yeah, so?"

"Where do you stand in your class?" I inquire further.

"I think I am above average at least." He shrugs nonchalantly.

"How can someone be so good in chemistry?" I ask baffled.

"Now you are just being dramatic. It's no big deal."

"Maybe I am dramatic but I won't move till you tell me your secret." I say stubbornly. He runs a hand through his hair exasperated.

"I just try to understand the concept and practice so that I can solve the questions. Then I revise once in a while so that I don't forget what I have already learnt. I don't know what else to tell you." He says scratching the back of his head.

"It's good enough." I shrug and go to my locker and put my books inside. From the corner of my eye, I see him shaking his head at me and then going towards his own locker.

"Shall we?" Jacob says gesturing to the cafeteria.

"We shall" I say grinning. This is another thing that I have grown used to. We both mock curtsy each other almost all the time.

When we enter the cafeteria the first thing I see is two tables joined together and both of our groups sitting around them - six on each side along the longer edge and one each along the shorter edge.

"How did they manage that?" Jacob's voice comes from behind me.

"Beats me, let's ask them later. First, I need food" I answer. He chuckles but agrees.

"Hi guys!" I greet, when we reach them. Some of them answer while the others are too busy talking. I go and sit beside Katie across Asher and that's when I notice that the only seat remaining is beside me. Jacob stands for a few moments and then sits between me and Dash. If you go from left to right, then on one end Emma, Dylan, Chris, Ash, Rosie and Justin are sitting. On the other side it goes as Soph then Dash, Jacob, me, Katie and Drake. Noah is sitting along the shorter edge on the right side and Mia on the left side.

"How did you all manage to get the tables together?" Jacob asks.

"When I entered Justin, Noah, Rose, Emma and Dylan were sitting on a table. Justin said we all could sit together. So we thought of trying our luck out and asked the cafeteria in-charges if we could join two tables. Surprisingly they agreed and helped us. They even gave us two extra chairs." Dash explains.

"Wow, that's great." I say. They always see us struggling to decide who will sit with whom so maybe they took pity on us.

I don't know how it began but halfway through the lunch some of us were debating if Vampire Diaries is better than Twilight. The ones who haven't seen them are watching us as if we have grown four heads and those who have seen one of them are piping in between. Seeing that we aren't going to stop the discussion anytime soon, the ones who haven't see either fall into their own discussions.

"In Twilight it doesn't even seem that it is about vampires. They are killers so there should be deaths right?" Chris says. I had made him watch the first season of Vampire Diaries with me and after that he couldn't stop. As for Twilight, Rosie forced us all to watch it.

"Are you sick? There are too many deaths in Vampire Diaries. It's like every new character will die or get turned into a vampire or both." Rosie exclaims.

"But if we are watching something about Vampires there should be action." Justin points out. Apparently Noah forced Justin and Drake to watch the series but only Noah has seen Twilight. He couldn't decide which one is better so he is just listening.

"You are going to see Twilight with me and till then shut up." Rosie says glaring at him. Justin goes to say something but I motion him not to speak. Rosie gets too invested in these debates so it will be better if he doesn't participate.

"Rose but you have to agree that their love story doesn't make sense at all. Bella wasn't even scared of him! And Edward is too cheesy." Ash says.

"Both love stories are according the character's personalities. I think Edward never got over how things used to be when he was human so he basically courted her. It's like a historical story set in modern times. And yes, Bella trusted him but he didn't give her a reason not to trust him. While in Vampire Diaries the characters changed themselves with time so it made sense to you all. And there were deaths before Stefan and Elena dated." Jacob says. He has watched them?

"You have seen them?" Dash asks, voicing my thoughts.

"One of my friends in New York forced us to watch them." He says then adds "Speaking of which I have to call her soon or she will come here to kill me." He lets out a laugh and it seems he is remembering something. She? I get this urge to ask him everything about her but I fight it. He said she is a friend so no need to get worked up.

Even you are friends with him but you have a crush on him.

Shut up!

"Oh no!" Jacob suddenly exclaims looking at his phone and then rubs a hand on his face.

"What happened?" I ask.

"I have to find a date." He mutters. What?

"Whom are you taking to the party on Sunday?" Jacob asks the triplets. They just look at him blankly except Justin.

"Oh, I forgot about that one." Justin says then turns to Rose "Will you be my date? It's really boring but we can do something." He literally pleads.

"Okay, but why didn't we know there is a party? And why do we have to take a date?" Rosie asks confused.

"I would know if there is a party held by someone in our school. Which party are you talking about?" Noah asks.

"Wait, you guys don't know that your Dad's company is having a party?" Jacob asks.

"Oh, that's why we don't know." Drake says then adds seeing our confused faces "Justin here is going to take over the company so Dad only tells him about these things. But why didn't you tell us about it?" He asks Justin.

"Sorry, it slipped from my mind." He says giving Noah and Drake an apologetic look.

"Why are you invited? Aren't your Dad's and their Dad’s companies rivals?" I ask confused.

"That's actually the first question I asked my Dad. He said the rivalry was affecting both of the companies so they made some deals." He explains and I nod in understanding.

"So that means we have to find dates?" Drake asks irritated.

"You don't have to but if you don't take one, you will be bored and everyone will pester you on about how you couldn't even find a date." Jacob says.

"You seem to know a lot about these things." Ash says stealing the words from my mouth.

"I want to start my own company someday so I have to know about these things. You can't show them any reason to pick on you." He says.

"Wow that's great, but what will happen to your Dad's company?" Katie asks.

"I plan on joining mine as a branch of it later."

"Why not branch out from the starting? I mean you will get a lot of investments." Rosie says.

"My Dad started his company from scratch and I want to know how much work it takes. It will make me know more about business as well."

"That's a good idea but I haven't thought that ahead." Justin says.

"Thanks and what will you do about the dates?" Jacob asks. Just ask me you idiot!

"I call dibs on sweetheart!" Noah exclaims making me internally groan.

"At least ask her if she wants to go with you?" Justin says smacking the back of Noah's head.

"Please" Noah says giving me the puppy dog eyes.

"Fine" How can I say no to that face? He throws a fist in the air making us laugh.

"You can take Katie!" Noah tells Drake.

"Yeah that’s a good idea! Then we all can go together." Rosie says.

"Will you go with me then?" Drake asks Katie raising an eyebrow.

"Fine, but I am coming only for my friends." Katie answers, rolling her eyes. This gets me suspicious. It seems she is angry with him, but why?

"Hey Em!" Jacob calls.

"Yeah?"

"There is this business party on Sunday, will you be my date?" Jacobs asks then adds when she hesitates "Please! I will be bored."

"Fine, but you owe me Starbucks for a week." She relents.

"Done" He gives her thumbs up. I know Emma doesn't like him but I can't help but feel jealous. Does he even like me?

I mentally decide to make him regret not asking me by showing him what he missed out on.

Author's Note

Hello everyone 😄! I hope you all are safe and sound.

The side characters were getting neglected so I thought of showing them in this chapter. But I can't include all of them in all the chapters. So there will be some chapters in which some side characters will get importance and others in which the rest will. In the next chapter I will include more about the triplets.

As for our main characters Anne is getting jealous. As she said earlier she is not head over heels but she does like him. And you can get jealous even if you like the person only a bit. Hell, sometimes we get jealous when our friends spend time with others. But what matters is how you react to the feeling. Anne didn't start hating on Emma or the other girl. She decided to get his attention but not by bad mouthing the other girls.

Anyways do you like Jacob as a tutor?

And I didn't write an announcement since it's not complete but I have been adding more descriptions in some chapters. Like how the characters look and their rooms, the cafeteria and the diner. Till now I have added some things in chapter 1, 2, 7 and 11. They don't change the storyline but they will help you imagine the characters and their surroundings.
