Chapter 11 : Maybe History Is Repeating Itself
Angelina's POV
I wake up when I feel sun rays hitting my eyes. I stretch my arms a bit and smile watching different birds chirping outside my window.
What actually happened is that I woke to my phone alarm which has the sound of birds chirping. But I did stretch my arms and smile. Why? Because today I am going to get sweet revenge. Yes it's Monday morning but it doesn't matter, every school morning is the same though today I have something to look forward to.
With that thought in my mind I go to my wardrobe to take my clothes for the day - A crop top and high waisted jeans. I believe in being stylish yet not giving up your comfort. And I am not a girly girl nor a tomboy which you can easily find out looking at my room. How? Well let's just say I have sports stuff and stuff toys in the same proportion.
The colour scheme of my room is baby pink and bright yellow while my furniture is brown. Speaking of furniture, I have a queen sized bed, a wooden wardrobe with an attached dressing table, a study table below the window and my favourite one seat sofa with a table in front of it. I spend most of my time in that sofa since it is really comfy. When I finally freshen up I skip down the stairs.
"Good Morning people!" I exclaim when I reach the dining hall. Then I hug mom, kiss dad on the cheek since he is sitting then high five Ash and at last sit on my seat you know the usual.
"You seem extra chirpy today, excited for the tryouts?" Mom asks. What tryouts? I was about to voice my thoughts when it hit me like a thousand bricks.
"I take it from your expression you forgot and you ask us why we couldn't believe you would tryout for cheerleading." Dad says chuckling.
"I had other things on my mind." I say but it comes out more like a question.
"What other things? Second week of school just started, you don't even have that much work." Mom asks confused.
"Jacob Wilson" Ash mutters lowly so that only I could hear. I pinch his thigh in response. He squeals a little then covers it with a cough.
"Are you okay?" Dad asks.
"Just peachy" He answers once he calms down.
"Sweetie you didn't answer." She says then lights up. "Oh my God it's a boy isn't it? Finally you have got a crush." She sighs as if it was the biggest burden she had.
"No it isn't! And I have had a lot of crushes." This gets both Dad's and Ash's attention.
"What crushes!?" They demand. Here we go again, them and their over - protectiveness.
"Oh I don't know maybe Robert Pattinson, Ian Solemander, Taylor Launter, Cole Sprouse, Tom Felton..."
"Ok ok we get it." They exclaim.
"I finally thought we were having some progress." Mom huffs.
"Amms darling she is too young for a boyfriend." Dad says and Ash nods.
"Too young" She scoffs "I was her age when you followed me like a lost puppy for a single date." Dad's cheeks burn. That's not what I heard.
"But Dad told us quite a different story." Ash says confused.
"Oh, did he now? What did he tell you two?" She asks turning towards dad.
"Oh look at the time! The children are going to be late for school." He exclaims.
"Dad you are not even wearing a watch." I point out.
"I had seen the time before coming here and it's been a long time since then so I know you would be late."
"I don't care if they are late." Mom glares at him. "You two can say you had family emergency, I will back you up. Now tell me what he told you two."
Ash glances towards me and I give small shrug. I am not getting in front of Mom's wrath.
"He said that he found out one day that you had a crush on him, he thought you are not that bad so he decided to ask you out and then see where it goes. You agreed so you guys went on that date. He says a lot of crazy things happened that night. Whenever he tries to tell us what happened he ends up laughing. Then you both decided to go on another date, one thing led to another; you two fell in love, married and had us." Ash finishes.
"He didn't at least lie I will give him that but he omitted a huge part of the story. Yes I did have a crush on him, but it was during my freshman year. I eventually got over it and even dated a guy after that in I think junior year. Though it didn't work out, he admitted having feelings for another girl about 6 months later and then ended up getting married to her. Come senior year I started looking actually good that's when your dad tried to hit on me. I thought he was after me because of my new looks and rejected his advances since why would a basketball player hit on me who didn't even notice my presence till then. He then treated annoying me like it was his job. Oh I hated him so much! One day I had enough so I said if I go out on one date with him would he leave me alone? He agreed saying only if I don't like the date. Then we went on that weirdly amazing date after that what he said."
"That's quite a story. Why didn't you tell us that?" I ask dad.
"Sue me for trying to look cool in front of my kids." He answers sulking.
"Now you two finish your food and try to reach school on time I will take care of your dad. I swear he acts smaller than you two sometimes." Mom says shaking her head and chuckling then leaves for I think the kitchen.
"I don't!" Dad hollers following her.
"That was surely something." Ash says amused after they have left.
"Yeah" I don't know if I should laugh or cry at my family's antics.
Now that it's quiet I remember about the tryouts again.
I can do it. I will get selected.
But you haven't even practiced anything.
So what? I am a natural I will live.
Who are you kidding?
"I can see you are having a mental breakdown. Don't worry you will do great." Ash says intervening my internal debate.
"Thanks Big B."
"Why do you call me Big B? It rhymes with that kid's show Ultra B." He whines.
"I never thought of that but now that's another good reason to keep calling you that." I respond giving him a cheeky grin. "And you call me lil sis even if I don't want you to." I further point out.
He mutters something under his breath probably curses.
"Anyway I am done. Finish your food by the time I get my bag." I say getting up.
"Fine"

"Hey B*tch!" Katie exclaims the moment I enter homeroom. No one even glances, they are used to our greetings.
"You are exactly on time. Why didn't you come earlier?" Rosie asks as the bell rings. One of the plus points is that all three of us have the same homeroom and none of the boys are in it. It's really awesome when we need some alone time.
"I will tell you guys during lunch." I tell them remembering morning's incidents.
"Now I really want to know you better tell us during lunch."Rosie says.
"By the way did you prepare anything for the tryouts?" Katie asks.
"I had forgotten about them Dad reminded me." I say chuckling nervously.
"You what?!" They exclaim.
"Hey look the teacher came let's talk later." They begrudgingly turn towards the front. Phew the teacher saved me for now.
Just as the bell is about to ring I rack my brain for something to distract them. A grin subconsciously takes its place as I get an idea.
"What are you grinning about?" Katie enquires.
"I was thinking about Jacob's face when he would be pestered by all the club officials." I answer Katie. "By the way when are you going to talk to them?" I ask turning towards Rosie.
"I can take out time between classes and talk to them before lunch; I share classes with some of them so it would be a bit easy." She answers smirking. Successfully distracted! Well I had to throw Jacob under the bus. Though it doesn't matter he is an asshole.
"If you need time take it don't work yourself out or get late to classes because of that asshole." I say as we reach the corridor. He has done enough damage.
"I won't. There's Adrian. Got to go, bye" She says before storming off towards the said boy. He is in - charge of Astronomy club.
"Don't think I forgot about how you forgot about the tryouts." Shit.
"Sorry?"
"Anne you are getting too invested in this prank war and that boy." Katie sighs.
"I am not." Am I?
"Today you forgot about the tryouts..."
"I just have short term memory." She gives me a look so I shut up.
"And lately all our conversations include him. It's like even if you hate him you only think about him."
"No!" I do not right?
"When was the last time you thought of Drew?" The question throws me off guard.
"I...uh.."
"Exactly, I am happy you are not thinking about him but it's better than constantly thinking about Jacob. You are even more invested in this boy than you were in Drew." The warning bell rings.
"This discussion isn't over. I don't say it in front of rest of them because they will get aggressive." She says before going towards her next class leaving me alone in the corridor with my mind overflowing with thoughts.
"You are invested in this boy than you were in Drew." Her words ring in my ears. Am I?
He is just an annoying asshole.
Maybe history is repeating itself.
The hell! I strongly dislike him! Me and him? Never!
Never say Never. And you didn't seem so sure during that party.
"Why would I date her? She is just another girl I danced a bit with. In fact she is more hot headed than them. Not my type." He doesn't even care about me!
You seem disappointed, maybe because you want him to like you?
The alcohol from that night is still messing with my brain. That's it! That's why I am having these thoughts.
Really?
I shake my head to clear my thoughts and go to my next class as well.

Author's Note
Hello everyone 😄! How are you all? Sorry for the late update 😅 I was working on some posts for my instagram. I will try to keep up with my regular updates. By the way do you all like the story so far? There were more glimpses of the Jones' family in this chapter. What do you think of them? Tell me your views about the book so far and Have a nice day 🙃!
PS - As the book's title suggests even if they dislike each other they are smitten anyway. This doesn't mean they have a crush on each other. They are just too invested in each other. So no she doesn't have a crush on the boy she dislikes.
